Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@expectinglittlebear I'm 12+1 today. My tiredness literally disappeared last friday. Like magic I'm back to my usual self. Still vomiting tho 😂 even with medication 💊 but yeh I'm making the most of every day I have energy it's been wonderful. Hopefully yours similarly lifts shortly. I think you're on the same day as me or close enough

expectinglittlebear · 19/07/2021 09:23

@spttc Yeah I am 12+2 today so super close! That's so good that you are getting your energy back!! I think the heat didn't help tbh, our house gets so so hot, even with fans and windows open etc.!!

Alle1991 · 19/07/2021 09:27

@expectinglittlebear I definitely more tired in the evening, I’m fast asleep by 9pm.

When I had my blood test on Thursday they said if anything came back as a concern they would phone me within 7 days, if not I would receive a letter in 14 days

BobbleWobble1 · 19/07/2021 10:14

Still tired here. If I could just sleep at night I'd be fine but I keep waking up for no bloody reason and start the day shattered. Feel like I'm wasting the days and the heat is definitely not helping!

I got screening results back in under a week.

spttc · 19/07/2021 10:38

@expectinglittlebear yeh the heat is very unhelpful! We're lucky to be having winter babies, imagine being 8/9 months pregnant in this 🥵🥵🥵🙈🙈🙈

Hey everyone!

Late to the party, but I'm due early January (9th) and am 15 weeks exactly at the moment!

Hope everyone is surviving the heat and keeping well 🥵

thecapitalsunited · 19/07/2021 11:18

Like everyone else I’m hot and can’t sleep. Last night I found that some of me was cold from the fan and other bits were still warm. Infuriating.

I had my 12 week scan this morning. The baby was very active and not particularly cooperative so the sonographer kept having to tap my belly with the ultrasound wand to get baby to move. I really wasn’t expecting to see so much movement. I thought it would be just small hand and feet movements but baby was rolling and kicking and thrashing about in there. Hopefully the blood tests come back before the suspense kills me!

EsseKey · 19/07/2021 11:41

@thecapitalsunited oh I can imagine that it was difficult for the sonographer, but how beautiful was it to see so much activity in there? :)

I am also feeling a bit tired due to the hot weather, but overall I like it and I feel I have more energy now! I'm probably the only one enjoying these temperatures 😅

Is anyone getting ready for travelling this summer?any precautions you would take because of the pregnancy? my midwife said that as long as I feel ok I can travel everywhere, I just need to be a bit more careful on long haul flights and make sure I wear compressive stocking and walk as much as possible before-during-after the flight...
but I just want to go visit our parents in Italy, I would not consider it as a long haul flight......

thecapitalsunited · 19/07/2021 12:33

@EsseKey It really was amazing. My husband looked like he’d swallowed a wasps nest though 😂

I do have a round Britain cruise booked for when I’ll be 20 weeks. But I need to get a doctors note saying I’m low risk but I know that because of my BMI I’m under shared consultant and midwife care. The midwife didn’t seem to think it would be a problem so fingers crossed that I can go.

I wouldn’t consider Italy (or anywhere in Europe really) a long haul flight. I hope you get to go!

Jonesy88 · 19/07/2021 14:55

@EsseKey - we went to Majorca last week, it was booked in 2019 and as it was on the green list we couldn’t get a refund. I decided to go given it might be our last chance for a while and being brutal, being 12 weeks, if something did go wrong being in a different country wouldn’t stop it. On a positive note though, although I was worried about the volume of people at the airport it was actually really well organised, everyone wore masks and I felt safer than when I’d been shopping at the Bullring.

expectinglittlebear · 19/07/2021 16:01

@Erin87 welcome and congratulations Flowers

sociallydistained · 19/07/2021 16:09

Got the worst reaction from my partner’s ex (he has one child, 7) today. Was obviously not expecting joy or congratulations in the slightest but some very horrible things were said which have made me feel sick. I don’t know how people can be like that about a child tbh 😞 obviously told her because we will need to tell my partners child and didnt want them or their mum finding out in other ways.

Just more worry to think about now but I have to try and not stress and be positive for bub. Could of done without it.

Tangfastic91 · 19/07/2021 17:01

@thecapitalsunited yay congrats! Amazing to see them move!

@sociallydistained sorry you've had this unpleasantness, but hey, she's EX for a reason and her opinion and comments don't matter. You keep happy about your wonderful news :)

sociallydistained · 19/07/2021 19:03

Thanks @Tangfastic91 will do!

Jonesy88 · 19/07/2021 21:27

Is anyone else feeling really fat? Please tell me I’m not alone. It’s not a bump just a larger middle and all my nice work dresses don’t fit. I think I might just have to bite the bullet and buy a couple of things in a larger size. Damn things reopening - I could’ve just stayed in my pjs 6 months ago!

sociallydistained · 19/07/2021 21:32

I am fitting in a pair of shorts that were way too big a few weeks ago so that’s worrying… haven’t tried my smaller size ones which were fitting a few weeks ago too… I don’t want to know the answer.

This heat doesn’t help! At least when we are very very pregnant it’ll be cold I guess!

spttc · 19/07/2021 22:03

@Jonesy88 yep me! I feel HUGE. And swollen. Even my face looks worse. This heat isn't helping. It's getting me down a bit. Very grateful to be having a winter baby. So soon enough we will be into the cold weather & big clothes. It's so difficult with the nausea Iv done zero exercise & basically need to eat every 2 hours 🙈

OP posts:
EsseKey · 20/07/2021 09:06

@Jonesy88 glad to hear you had a nice experience during travelling!
I honestly can't wait to go in 2 weeks... because of covid my life changed completely, from travelling somewhere at least once a month to nothing, it has been devastating for my social life and my connection with family! So I am going no matter what, will put on 10 masks and shower in sanitising gel if necessary ahahah I just hope that this rise in cases everywhere is not going to cause a sudden closing of the borders... 😭

@sociallydistained so sorry to hear about that!! I know it's difficult, but her opinion shouldn't count at all in this moment, don't let her ruin your happiness! you did what was right and told her, now it's done and you can keep focusing on the nice stuff 🥰

I gained 1 kg on the scale but I look like doubled in size! I don't like it at all, I am scared of what it will be in a few months... it helps me to think that it is because I am pregnant, not just fat 😬 but I am still worried of what will be...

spttc · 20/07/2021 11:53

@sociallydistained I'm the same I haven't really gained scale weight. Maybe 1lb. But look twice the size. I do think there's swelling etc because my fingers are much bigger.

This weather is killing me ladies 🥵😂🙈 I don't think iv ever looked forward to autumn winter so much. Just the thought of winter walks & a winter themed coffee from costa is so appealing right now 😂

Speaking of being bigger all of a sudden....I took the plunge and got a maternity bra. From "pour moi" - I got it in NEXT. I HIGHLY recommend, Iv been so uncomfortable and it's honestly the most comfortable bra Iv worn I think. Pretty aswell. I feel a new woman today 😂

OP posts:
thecapitalsunited · 20/07/2021 12:09

My god the bloating. I feel absolutely enormous. Most of it is because I’m horrendously constipated. I lost a lot of weight before falling pregnant so everything still fits. I haven’t put on any weight so far which has been a struggle when I haven’t felt like exercising.

expectinglittlebear · 20/07/2021 16:34

@Jonesy88 Yep definitely!! I haven't weighed myself, I daren't with the amount of food I have been eating to just get through the nausea haha!

I have also developed headaches the past couple of days, so I can add that to the multiple symptoms of pregnancy I am experiencing so far Envy. They linger for most of the day, don't seem to get better with hydration, and only really go away when I sleep. Not sure if it is the tiredness bringing them on, or the heatwave at the moment, or even my bad posture - years of sitting at a desk have caused issues with my neck and shoulders. I caved and bought a back brace from Amazon which should get delivered today, so hopefully that helps sort my posture out before my bump gets too big and it makes it worse!!

I am only 25 and yet I feel like I am triple that at the moment!! Grin

sociallydistained · 20/07/2021 17:33

Also getting headaches I’m guessing it’s the heat too but it’s been awful at work.

spttc · 20/07/2021 19:04

Who here has had the Pfizer vaccine? I'm approaching 14 weeks which is when Ireland administer it to pregnant women and I'm starting to worry. Duno why. I just feel scared about it 🙈 starting to 2nd guess.

If you got it how far along were you? Any side affects?

OP posts:
Tangfastic91 · 20/07/2021 19:27

@spttc I had Pfizer at 7 weeks. Baby didn't grow 2 heads per the scan so all good! Seriously though, I had a sore arm for a day and I just kept an eye on my temperature and was ready to take paracetamol if I got a fever. But I didn't! Getting second dose hopefully at about 15 weeks :)

Jonesy88 · 20/07/2021 19:42

@spttc I inadvertently had my 1st pfizer vaccine a couple of days after conception and all was fine apart from a naff nights sleep from a sore arm. I have my second booked for Thursday and my midwife appointment tomorrow (Wednesday) so am just going to double check it’s still recommended. I expect she’ll say yes. Although it is a worry I think catching COVID could be a lot worse so I’m 80% decided I’m going to do it.
