Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@spttc I get it, and you have a previous example with your sis in law pregnancies.... this baby of mine would be the first from both sides, so I don't have any experience with that but at the same time so silly of me not to assume that they would go over the top with excitement ahahah

Alle1991 · 14/07/2021 12:14

Looks like there’s a few of us with our scans tomorrow! I’m so on edge today, i think I’ve ran every possible scenario through my head. Please tell me this is normal! I’m not sure I’ll sleep much tonight. I’m nervous and excited all in one. How’s everyone else feeling?

Thankfully got a negative COVID result so one less thing to worry about.

Think if all is well tomorrow I’m going to tell my boss on Friday, even that has me slightly worried.

sociallydistained · 14/07/2021 12:27

My partner isn’t coming with me because he has just started a new job and it will be very hard to re-arrange work at such short notice. I said it’s fine but I know he is gutted and I am a bit. We did have early scan at 9+2 so he has seen baby and was emotional so least theres that and hopefully he can come to next one!

Tangfastic91 · 14/07/2021 15:53

Hey all! I had my first scan today at 12+2, a day ahead of what I thought! (first pregnancy so completely new to me). Healthy baby, I'm so happy! I did a bit too well at holding my bladder and had to half empty 🤣

Now onto the next 'big deal' telling people... gulp.

Wishing everyone well for their scans this week and next xx

spttc · 14/07/2021 16:19

Awww congrats @Tangfastic91 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Id say it's all a bit more real now! ❤️

@Tangfastic91 really nice to hear! I bet you’re so relieved and excited. Hoping to feel the same way as you tomorrow. … telling people is nerve wracking isn’t it?

Tangfastic91 · 14/07/2021 17:03

@sociallydistained it really is! First grandchild for both sides so I'm extra nervous hah.

Alle1991 · 14/07/2021 17:38

@Tangfastic91 so glad to hear everything went well and baby is healthy. Can’t wait to see more messages from everyone else in the next coming days x

spttc · 14/07/2021 19:56

How's everyone's diet at the moment? Mine is shocking......all carbs, zero protein, definitely too many calories.....anything to stop the nausea. Has anyone been in that situation and managed to come out of it as their nausea subsided? Anyone have any healthier food options they've found ok for nausea? I'm feeling hopeless.....and bloated 😂😩🙈

Tangfastic91 · 14/07/2021 20:12

Thanks all for the kind words :)

@spttc Mine is awful too. In fact, I'm surprised they found a baby today and not a loaf of Hovis. I'm also constantly grazing - I get actual stomach rumbles every 2-3 hours it's insane. The only 'healthy' snacks I can stomach are satsumas and cucumber (downside, the cucumber burps). Cannot wait for this nausea to do one - I'm ready for my glow!

Also keen to hear peoples healthy choices, maybe something will sound great ha.

Dolly0706 · 14/07/2021 20:42

I’ve also my 12 week scan tomorrow (even though I’m 13+1!) definitely a little nervous about it and just hope everything is ok. Will feel a huge relief afterwards as time has draggeddddd waiting for it to come around!

And yes diet also terrible still. Very beige!! I thought the nausea was to magically lift at 12 weeks but no still suffering at 13 weeks, not as bad but definitely still there especially in evenings. Still also have major food aversions. If it doesn’t disappear by week 14 I’ll start to worry, couldn’t face this for 9 months!!

Loll84 · 14/07/2021 20:50

Awww congratulations @Tangfastic91, and good luck to others for tomorrow.

My food aversions eased a bit at 12weeks and can eat more variety now. Still get cravings for chinese food or chips and gravy though!

Loll84 · 14/07/2021 20:51

Ps. I've tried maltloaf, yoghurts and just cereal for healthy snacks

spttc · 15/07/2021 09:07

Yeh I'm going to track my calories today for the first time since the nausea began 💯 just try and be a little more mindful as I feel like I'm piling on weight. Feeling dreadful 😣🤢 Thanks all for responses!

EsseKey · 15/07/2021 09:29

@spttc my diet has also been rubbish while I had nausea... but at least I could also eat some fruit or raw veggies so I made an effort to include them in my constant snacking...even though the majority was just bread, cookies etc

now it's much better I think I feel generally more hungry so I am definitely eating more than normal, but I try to maintain a healthy diet. I have definitely put weight on, the scale says just 1kg but it feels and looks much more than that 😥 probably also the fact that I went from excercising 3-4 times/week to 0 for a few weeks (and now it's 2 times per week when I can...) didn't help...

spttc · 15/07/2021 09:35

@EsseKey yeh I had some fruit the past 2-3 days and have felt a bit better. I might get some carrot sticks & houmous or whatever dip I think I can stomach 🙈🤣 today and see if they suit me. Melon, grapes. Stuff like that. Iv got this 💯 like @Tangfastic91 said I feel like a hovis sliced pan or that I'm pregnant with one 😬 maybe some of it is bloat? Like you said you've put on 1kg but similar to you i feel like Iv put on 10kg 😂 just like a blimp. I can't wear my wedding ring 💍 🤣🙈

EsseKey · 15/07/2021 09:42

@spttc my partner keeps saying that he can definitely see me pregnant now! I am not sure if I like it or not ahahah
I actually think I do have a tiny tiny bump, but most of it is bloating! 😆 I don't fit in any of my normal jeans or trousers, thank god it's summer and I work from home, so I live in pyjama bottoms and dresses!

thecapitalsunited · 15/07/2021 09:57

I haven’t had much nausea so have kept to my normal diet. But I did read something to say no nausea wasn’t a good sign so that’s not been helpful with anxiety. I was trying to lose weight before I found out and because I have a high BMI I’m trying to keep any weight gain to a minimum. I added in a small breakfast to my weight loss diet and I seem to be holding steady. I’m worried that I’ll give myself gestational diabetes so I’ve tried to be really strict with myself. Hoping that my fatigue lifts enough for me to start exercising properly again. At the moment it’s as much as I can do to get through the working day and walk my dog.

I’m now 12 weeks today and I have to start taking aspirin at night. Does anyone else have to take aspirin?

expectinglittlebear · 15/07/2021 10:05

@Alle1991@Dolly0706 & everyone else who has their scan today, I hope all goes well! Let us know how you get on Flowers

@spttc Mine is absolutely shocking!!! I am basically eating anything I can that doesn't make me want to vomit, and I feel more sick when I am hungry so I am constantly grazing throughout the day in a bid to stop the nausea! So literally the same as you! Also, the one main thing I can keep down is bread, so I am living on toast and sandwiches!

I am hoping that within the next couple of weeks when I go into the second trimester I will start to feel better where the nausea is concerned, and be able to be more careful with what I am eating and also have the energy back to be able to exercise!! Because at the minute, I feel like a lead weight most days.. I have now also resorted to having a nap on my lunchbreak in my car haha!!

Tangfastic91 · 15/07/2021 10:12

Good luck to today's scan ladies, can't wait to hear your good news :)

@Loll84 I'm also loving maltloaf, but the amount of butter I put on it means it can't be considered a healthy snack 🤣

@thecapitalsunited I've not been told about aspirin at night. Is it a BMI thing do you know? I assume I would have been told if I had to.

expectinglittlebear · 15/07/2021 10:15

@thecapitalsunited I haven't been told about the aspirin either, was that for any particular reason?

thecapitalsunited · 15/07/2021 10:18

@Tangfastic91 Mine is to do with BMI and the fact that its my first pregnancy but there were a lot of different criteria (and mostly you needed to have two of the risk factors not just one) such as being over 40, more than 10 years since last pregnancy, first pregnancy, previous pre-eclampsia, pre-eclampsia in close family member, diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple pregnancy. If you needed to be on it, I’m sure it would have been brought up in your booking appointment.

spttc · 15/07/2021 12:34

@EsseKey 😂 yeh it's gotta be a bit of swelling & bloat. I usually have little boney fingers & all of a sudden they're like sausages! I can't even wear my gardening gloves 😂😂 bump or bloat it's definitely pregnancy related anyway!

@expectinglittlebear im the exact same in that I'm grazing as if I don't eat all the time I'm sick. I absolutely can't go longer than 2 hours without food. Im going to try from today switching my food choices to lower calorie because if I keep going how I am I'll be in serious trouble by the end of this 😂🙈

I went and bought myself lots of nice fruit pots this morning so maybe that will help, and I just had a salad for lunch!! Woohoo 🎉 😂 Actually feeling a lot better already.

Good luck to today's ladies getting scans ❤️👌

Update guidance from the HSE as of yesterday. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Have any of you asked to WFH or anything due to numbers rising? I am very concerned and yet my employer is letting people come in with colds, no testing, no distancing or masks etc. Not sure whether to mention / ask, or whether to try and carry on and avoid everyone as much possible!

Ahhh @expectinglittlebear I didn't know you were Irish. Me too. I think if your employer hasn't got proper safety precautions in place they MUST allow you to work from home. What job are you in. I'm lucky in that there's only 5 in my office and 1 is my husband who is fully vaccinated, 1 is my dad who is fully vaccinated, 1 is myself and 2 others work different days to me. I absolutely would not tolerate working in an unsafe environment. Do they know you are pregnant?
