Congratulations @Bobbots !!! I had to go to hospital today for check up as apparently I have GDM diagnosed literally today at 38 weeks …Sad Now I will probably have a c-section at some time this week, I have some more appointments this week to see what the exact plan will be. I have to admit this is not exactly what I wanted but I will be happy as long as the little one is ok Smile

@Mammamia365 sorry that it’s all been brought forward a bit. I hope you can get your head around it and that it all goes smoothly. Thinking of you with all your appointments.
@4weekstogo maybe he will turn around in that time and won’t remain breach? Handhold for both of you ladies Flowers

Aww this is all so nice to read - congrats to those who babies have arrived already!

Ours is a girl, first baby. Heading in for a growth scan this afternoon (had 5 different community midwives for all my appointments throughout so hoping it’s just them all measuring differently!)

@mammamia365, sorry about the diagnosis. If you've weighed up all the options and got the pros and cons for each option, and you've decided on a c section.
It won't be long until you meet your little one x

@hereforallthehelp I've had growth scans in my last pregnancy because I was always measuring small in my last pregnancy and since 28 weeks in this pregnancy because my last baby measured small. She was not small when she arrived at 6lb 14oz. So try not to worry x

It's a nice chance to see baby again and get some reassurance on growth, they'll also check placenta blood flow.

I have my next growth scan on Friday at 40 weeks x

@carryonparenting, @littletiger007,

I can't imagine moving house now, I'd be a complete wreck. I totally understand the windows thing! Last time I was obsessed with my window frames and skirting boards.

This time it's definitely washing, I've been washing everything I can in the machine, always putting them on for long hot washes! Like 3hr washes! I've washed all the pillows and quilts, curtains. Also I'm sterilising everything this time in Milton which I never bothered with the first time!!

LittleTiger007 · 05/05/2021 08:08

@fattymumbum yes it’s not great timing for moving! In reality it may still be a couple of months. We are renting whilst we find the right place (both widows remarried) we found the perfect place and didn’t get it. Let it go and it’s fallen through so they came back to us last week... now it’s all systems go it seems. These things can take ages... but I really don’t want to be in this rental for long with a new baby... so whilst it’s stressful, I want to get into the new place!

@4weekstogo mine is my first, breech, and I'm booked in for a section this Friday - so if I can give you any useful heads up after I'm done I will! It's the exact opposite of my birth plan which was just "as little intervention as is safe". I'd been hoping for a water birth as it helps my chronic condition but even if I tried for a vaginal birth now they said it would be with the doctors instead of the midwives and not in the birthing pool.

@Mammamia365 sorry to hear about your diagnosis. One of the positives of having a planned section is knowing when you get to meet your little person at least, but it's a lot to process when you've spent 9 months planning a completely different birth!

@fattymumbum 😂 oh it’s skirting boards for me this time, they just never look clean to me. Like the baby is going to run his finger across it and say ‘what you playing at mum’.

@LittleTiger007 my sister is in the same position with pregnancy, renting and moving. Hope you get an move date soon

Xx

Have finally got to a delivery room to break my waters, but baby keeps going back up so they can't do it! Bouncing on ball hoping he will come down and break them himself but doesn't look likely.

Due date is here for me and surprise surprise no sign yet- tried all the natural remedies they recommend to bring on labour - much to DHs shock and joy last night lol.
I was only 2 days over with DD1 so hopefully this one won't keep me waiting too long either!

Baby boy was born at 9:55pm yesterday, weighing 7lb 2oz. Had to wait ages for a bed on delivery for them to break my waters, once they did I went on the drip because he wasn't engaged, just bobbing in and out and they were worried about a cord prolapse. I had him about 3 hours after my contractions started, honestly didn't think I could do it and then suddenly he was here! Feel sooo tired now, like I'm having a out of body experience! Very strange.

Hope everyone else has their babies soon! Good luck to you all xx

Congrats @HowCanYou!! Hope you and baby are well x

Been having weird bellyaches since last night and all night, I can just about walk to the toilet and it hurts to walk 😩
Belly felt hard and weird a lot (braxton hicks maybe?) I feel like the baby is very low because I can really feel the pressure now.
This weird cramping/pain has been going on since last evening.. don’t know if I should call the maternity/delivery line or just wait it out and see what happens.
Could it be contractions?!

Report
Saltnsauceta · 06/05/2021 06:44

@AyyX I've been having exactly the same. I've felt a bit off for a couple of days and yesterday my stomach was rock hard then soft on and off all day. Tmi but also loads of discharge to the point I was wondering if it was my waters! I slept ok last night so I'll see what today brings. Let me know what you decide to do.

I just went toilet twice (#2)
The last time I gave birth I was going throughout the day.. but for the last week I’ve been going more than three times a day so don’t know if that’s a sign.
My belly is feeling less cramped now and a bit more normal.. if I get up I bet I can still feel the pressure of the baby on my vagina or something. I’m walking like a penguin and it hurts to walk 😩
Luckily I could still sleep last night but every time I woke up to go wee I could feel the weird belly pain/cramps

Think I will call the midwife if my belly carries on feeling crampy/weird because idk if it’s contractions or what
