Morning! I felt really sick on Tuesday and then a little yesterday but today I'm totally fine. Should be 6 weeks tmrw. Is that normal, for nausea to come and go? I only heard of it staying / getting worse!

Kinsters · 29/04/2021 06:53

Yeah, it's normal for symptoms to come and go. Especially earlier on.

MigMog · 29/04/2021 07:23

Hello. Due boxing day. So I'm 5 and 3 today. Maybe. The day bit always confuses me.

This is baby number 2, I've a just turned 2year old.

Currently feeling fine. Been exhausted and starving for a week and now feeling normal bar sore boobs. Had a lite cramping every now and again as things stretch out. Just hoping it sticks and is fine.

The nerve wracking first few weeks!!

Hi all - so many new messages and people! Congrats everyone and sorry to hear that some of you are feeling rough Flowers

Just in case it helps anyone - I went for an early private scan last night. Last period puts me at 8+3 but I thought that was unlikely due to long/irregular cycles and was worrying about total lack of symptoms. They couldn't do a normal ultrasound (my bladder wasn't full enough so you really do need to chug as much water as poss!) so they did an internal scan, got to see a heartbeat and they put me at 6+4. I think measuring behind isn't ideal but she seemed happy everything looked fine and said if my dates are uncertain that was more likely the issue. Due date now 18th Dec.

Just wanted to reassure those that aren't feeling any different that it doesn't mean nothing is happening in there Smile

Now just got to hang on til my MW appt/hospital scan...

Sair44411 · 29/04/2021 08:37
@Sair44411 Portsmouth trust.. the southampton one is near me too but they said they aren't my catchment and they say they do booking appts at 10 weeks!
It's crazy how different it is for different areas. I have my first midwife app on Tuesday (I'll be 8 weeks exactly) and she said at the end of that we'd book in bloods and 12 week scan.
Hope you hear from someone soon.

In other news, EPU called me and told me to go into A&E yesterday. I don't know what I was expecting but it was very odd. First question they asked me was "What makes you think you are actually pregnant"
Is it bad that I felt offended by that??

In anyways, they've booked me for scan today to rule out ectopic. It's at 3 o'clock - wish me luck!!

AnonymousXXIX · 29/04/2021 08:56

Good luck @Sair44411!

Not odd to feel offended by that! The opposite happened when I called the hospital, I was like 'can someone confirm I am pregnant?!' and they said 'well if you did a home test then obviously you are'. Not a shadow of doubt. I'm still shocked they just believe it!

Mumofboys20122017 · 29/04/2021 08:59

My parents already know as well, I told them early with my other 2 as well, but also felt bad having work know and not my family haha the last few days I have had waves of nausea and presuming this is the start of it as I had it all day everyday with DS1 and for the first trimester from about 6 weeks with DS2 so waiting for it to full on kick in any day!

@Sair44411 good luck with the scan today ❤❤

Peachthepiglet · 29/04/2021 09:02

I’m at kings in London and after completing a self referral I received a call back within a few minutes when they booked in my booking appointment and scan for 8 weeks and 12 weeks to the day. Thinking they must have a shortage of babies!

Mumofboys20122017 · 29/04/2021 09:06

@Peachthepiglet oh wow that was fast! Brilliant! I sent mine 9 days ago and haven't heard a peep and presume I won't for another few weeks 🙄

Peachthepiglet · 29/04/2021 09:08

@Mumofboys20122017 I was shocked to be honest especially after reading everyone’s problems.

AnonymousXXIX · 29/04/2021 09:30

@Peachthepiglet wow nice! I submitted my referral form on Friday, and nothing so far. I will patiently wait till next Friday, and then probably start trying to call them...

I told some family and friends because I would really need their support if it all goes wrong. (I am not the suffer in silence type.) I am trying not to tell all my friends at once though because obviously I also don't want to repeatedly discuss bad news with loads of people either. It's a balancing act.

gizmo167 · 29/04/2021 10:01

@Kinsters I understand totally how you feel hun, I have lost my last 2 at the 6 week mark and with both mc's havent gotten past CD40 without spotting starting, I'm CD39 today so this weekend/next week is a big milestone for me!

Cuddles21 · 29/04/2021 10:11

Good luck with your scan @Sair44411

I think I'll tell parents the wknd after 8 week mark too but reassuring to hear some of you guys also told them around then. I feel the longer we don't tell them, they'll figure it out themselves cos I'm useless at lying and I feel when I'm told I'm pale etc, I'm lying to them making up excuses. I'd say I look completely suspicious 😆

Cocomelon2019 · 29/04/2021 10:31

We told my in laws yesterday at 5+1 and we'll tell my folks on Saturday. I had to tell work at 4 weeks because of the nature of the job and they sent me home straight away, still waiting to hear if they're going to send me somewhere else but my folks and in laws do some childcare for us so I feel terrible lying to them so we're just telling them. We waited until 8 weeks last time because we were on honeymoon so told them when we got home.

Has anyone used Clearblue weekly indicator tests? I'm 5+2 today going by last period but it's still reading 2-3 weeks this morning. I did one on Saturday and it was 2-3 but I hadn't done a weekly one before that so not sure when it changed from 1-2. Feeling a bit anxious it's not saying 3+ yet 😬

TakeYourFinalPosition · 29/04/2021 11:11

@Cocomelon2019 The Clearblue margins are massive. I got very told off for saying I’d been taking them weekly to see the numbers go up... they can’t really be used like that. It’s tempting, and nice to see it progress, but the ranges for normal HCG at each point are so wide and strange that it’s not accurate. Even the instructions say it’s only for fun, and shouldn’t be relied on... it’s hard, but I’d stop taking them.

@Minster2012 How are you doing? I hope you’re alright.

We haven’t told anyone yet. I’m still anxious... still debating a private scan on Saturday, I’d be 6+5 from ovulation.

I think we’ll tell a few close friends at 10 weeks, and the in-laws, because it’s my husbands birthday and he’s very excited! So if we get that far, I expect a few people will know then. Before all the anxiety, I was so excited to tell them... they’ll be over the moon.

Plus it stops me having to work out how to constantly hide not drinking Grin

Cocomelon2019 · 29/04/2021 11:16

@TakeYourFinalPosition Yeah I think you're right, I'm just going to stop now. I felt so rotten by this stage last time and actually feel quite good ATM, still throwing up but more like gagging and no intense nausea so far, but I suppose every pregnancy is different.

@Cocomelon2019 Don't worry too much. I have seen a lot of posts where the weeks don't change to 3 +, plus your dates may be a few days off, depending when you ovulated and when implantation happened.
tacolove · 29/04/2021 11:20

Hello, please could I join? 9+5 with second child. Due date to be confirmed, but I'm guessing first week of December 😊 feeling anxious, and extremely tired this time round. Hope everyone is well x

Cocomelon2019 · 29/04/2021 11:22

@MushroomQueen thank you, been searching and I've seen a few posts saying the same, I think I just need to chill 😬

DarceyCat · 29/04/2021 11:28

Just had a streak of blood on wiping. 6 weeks today. Booked in for a scan with EPU tomorrow morning but after a previous MC I am fearful that this is it for me and this little bean SadSadSad

TakeYourFinalPosition · 29/04/2021 11:45

@DarceyCat I had the same last Friday... spotting around six weeks is really common and nothing to worry about, especially if there’s no cramping.

I did go to the EPU, who did bloods and were lovely. They arranged a scan for Monday but that was a pretty horrible experience, they wouldn’t do an internal and the sonographer was quite brutal in her wording, so that’s caused me a lot more anxiety than I had... it didn’t give the reassurance that I wanted! Try and be prepared for that, just incase your experience is the same.

But, they were clear that over 50% of women get some red/brown spotting and by itself it doesn’t signify anything bad.

Best of luck to you xx

Oh no what a worry. Is there no way they could get you in today? Fingers crossed for you and remember there have been others with bleeding and it's been ok.

Have any of you told work already? I'm wondering whether to as I'm not feeling great and would prefer to work from home for a few weeks at least until covid rates go down. I wanted to wait for 12 wk scan but it's on a day I'm due to work so I'm thinking of just telling them x

climbershell · 29/04/2021 12:21

I don't feel as terrible today, think the travel sick bands, ginger biscuits and super strong ginger hard sweets are helping. Back to 'just' the hungover feeling... However I'm so blooming hungry today and yesterday! Which is strange when feeling sick

Had my lunch at 10:45... Eeek!

Is the sudden hunger common in the 7th weeks? Guess babys brain cells are developing at 100 a minute 😮

Pineapple87 · 29/04/2021 12:42

@climbershell I ate 3 double cheeseburgers yesterday at 2.30 it’s safe to say I wasn’t hungry at tea time! Ha ha, I got heartburn sickness it’s horrid. I used to only eat one meal a day I’m now eating 3 meals a day.
Have t put on any weight tho which is good it’s probably better for my body eating more. I’m 6+2 X
