So I estimated I was 8+2 weeks today. But they estimate 8+4 weeks instead. So not a big difference so completely normal! X

climbershell · 28/04/2021 18:47

I had a long day at work today and was dreading it, after yesterday only working 3hrs and the rest on the sofa constantly in tears from feeling so sick

It was hard as felt pretty bad, but first day with my travel sick bands and I had a gingernut biscuit about every hour and I didn't throw up 😁

Really hungry today tho like others there's nothing I fancy eating, but I'm making myself with very beige food and it's going down

ChristmasBabi · 28/04/2021 19:11

@chloed121 wow that’s pretty spot on but isn’t it lovely to hear! I’ve got mine booked in too early I’m worried tbh as I will be 7 weeks from LMP so pray for me 🙌🏻😂

@climbershell aw that’s awful bless you! Have you tried getting some of the ginger root or ginger spice and popping in a green tea? I’m not sure if it works tbh I’ve been alright so far 🙏🏻 But a friend said it works! Good luck ❤️

XandraB · 28/04/2021 19:20

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me joining this chat. I’m due on 7 December and this would be my third baby. Super anxious this time round after two missed miscarriages in the last 6 months (most recently with twins). I think the only thing that’s going to put my mind at rest is having some early scans which I’ve always tried to avoid previously. Any advice on the best weeks to get scanned let me know. Had one at 7 and things looked promising then thinking another one at 9 weeks. It’s just such a long wait until 12 isn’t it!

chloed121 · 28/04/2021 19:45

@ChristmasBabi they may ask to do an Internal scan the earlier you go that's all, they told today they would try a normal ultrasound first and then if it wasn't clear enough try internal. ☺️
But my normal ultrasound was clear so all was good ! X

ChristmasBabi · 28/04/2021 19:52

@chloed121 ah that makes sense! Thank you ❤️ Honestly isn’t it so exciting!

chloed121 · 28/04/2021 19:57

@ChristmasBabi
This is what I seen tonight
I could see more on the screen than the pictures and they were showing what was what.

@chloed121 omg thank you for sharing that it’s the first one I’ve seen around this time!! I can imagine it’s such a relief to see and hold that pic! Ps love your nails 😂❤️

chloed121 · 28/04/2021 20:12

@ChristmasBabi
The screen was much clearer so was lovely to watch with my partner through the whole scan! We had like a big tv to watch which was good.

Aww thank you. I do them myself 🙈💕

ChristmasBabi · 28/04/2021 20:22

@chloed121 ah honestly how lovely it’s made me so excited to see mine too!

No way e well they look fab 🔥

Mumofboys20122017 · 28/04/2021 20:34

@chloed121 so cute 😍 congratulations!!

chloed121 · 28/04/2021 20:38

@ChristmasBabi you won't regret it! Even my partner said he's so glad I asked to have an early scan!
I'm a hairdresser so got a steady hand🙈

@Mumofboys20122017 thank you ! Xx

Emmgrem · 28/04/2021 21:12

@Sair44411 Portsmouth trust.. the southampton one is near me too but they said they aren't my catchment and they say they do booking appts at 10 weeks!

Mayneedanextraroom · 28/04/2021 21:13

Welcome @XandraB so sorry to hear of your losses, the anxiety is awful isn’t it. I think you should do what feels right to you, I have had private scans and epu scans in previous pregnancies (some successful some not) this will hopefully be dc3 for me too. Maybe 9 and a half weeks then you’re halfway between? X

Dreamer30 · 28/04/2021 21:17

Joining as I was somewhere on the other thread lol these move so fast.

Sorry to hear about those of you having trouble with your booking appointment, some places sound so unprofessional!

With me I called the GP, who gave me a website to the maternity triage and there it explains the booking process. Instead of calling I emailed, I was then sent a form, downloaded it and sent it back, then was given my booking appointment for 24th May when I'll be 8w+4.

I hope you all get booked in soon 😌

Minster2012 · 28/04/2021 21:33

Lovely to see the scan @chloed121 💓I'm just thinking of booking one myself, I shall likely be around 8 weeks when I'm thinking, maybe late 7 weeks 🤔should be ok right?

climbershell · 28/04/2021 22:17

I rang my doc to say pregnant and they booked me in with the midwife there and then. Limited slots as she's only at the surgery on Fridays. Offered me one this Friday (7+2) but inconvenient tile, so I'm going next Fri 9:30

climbershell · 28/04/2021 22:18

My early scan is the next day at guessed 8+3

Em39ma · 28/04/2021 22:28

I didn’t think I could get sick more than have been, but I was wrong really ramped up today.
Think I’m going to have to give in and take the cyclizine I have left over from when I had my daughter.

Cuddles21 · 28/04/2021 23:00

Hi all 😊
My tummy is ballooning up after meals at the minute so I look pregnant even though nobody knows 😆
I'm thinking of telling parents the wknd after I'm 8 weeks so will be 8+4. Does anyone think this is too early? To be honest, I would just love to be able to talk to my mam about it when its my first pregnancy.

MushroomQueen · 28/04/2021 23:29

@Cuddles21 I plan on telling parents at 8 weeks I did the last 2 times.

Im always feeling a bit sick in evenings atm. It's made worse by smelling cooking or cooked meat. (I'm veggie partner and kids aren't ) I also can't face hot food. Which is what happened with my 1st. No idea why

Kinsters · 29/04/2021 02:39

I don't get too bad nausea/sickness. I totally go off chocolate and most vegetables though. It's weird cause I love chocolate and usually eat so much of it but when I'm pregnant just the thought of buying it turns my stomach.

I was looking back at my records of previous pregnancies and if this pregnancy is like all my others I expect to start spotting/bleeding this weekend when I'm 6+2 or 6+3. It's happened like clockwork with the others and I'm dreading it!

I booked a scan for 7+5. I'd have tried to hold off till after 8 weeks but 7+5 is too convenient because my daughter has an appointment for her vaccination that day so we only have to make one visit to the hospital and can all go together (I'm not UK based).

Em39ma · 29/04/2021 06:21

@Cuddles21 my parents already know. We are living with them at the moment, sold our house and in the process of buying another across the road from them.
Not easy to hide when I’m getting sick all the time. We told them early each time. I look like death warmed up at the mention of getting pregnant and my belly swells straight away so I look around 6 months already.
