I have hay fever too and not taking anything for it because I don't think here's anything recommended for pregnant ladies. Not ideal being a gardener, but I'm not taking any risks

Elizabeth134 · 27/04/2021 15:33

Hi everyone.

Have been watching this thread for awhile. I’m just under 6 weeks. Felt a bit unwell at the very beginning but then it faded so was a bit worried. Was admitted to hospital yesterday with pneumonia and as they wanted to give me some stronger drugs they did an internal scan to confirm pregnancy. Little bean was there and they could just make out a slight heartbeat flicker. Measuring slightly behind my dates so due date is now Christmas Day!

Obviously thrilled as was a bit worried with having no symptoms when my sickness with my now 2 year old started at week 4 and kept going until week 18!

Does mean I can’t have the good drugs though! So children’s antibiotics basically and lots of rest.

Firstbornunicorn · 27/04/2021 15:44

@Elizabeth134 I’m sorry you’ve been so ill. That sounds horrendous!

I did find your post comforting, as I’m sure I was incapacitated with nausea at this point with DS (2 tomorrow), and I’m only feeling a little “off” this time. I actually did another test this morning to make sure I’m actually pregnant and didn’t, like, dream it, or something.

Think I’m 5+2 today. Still feeling anxious but hopefully everything goes ok.

Elizabeth134 · 27/04/2021 15:53

@Firstbornunicorn it’s odd to feel so differently isn’t it! I went into the scan prepared for the worst. Trying not to think to much about if this means the opposite gender or something like that and just appreciate not having to throw up in public so much.

Got nothing to do but lie in bed for a few days so will probably be hovering on here a lot!

angel0071987 · 27/04/2021 16:13

Hayfever wise it's not recomeded to take any tablets although most Dr’s do say if benefit outweighs risk (ie nothing else works) then loratadine ok as lowest dose as possible. Sprays and drops are mostly fine to take (ask a pharmacist or read box to confirm).

Minster2012 · 27/04/2021 16:33

Hey catching up, I'm also worried here I'm afraid, meant to be around 5.5/6 weeks (6 weeks by LMP but shorter based on OV) and did a weeks test this morning 9 days after my last where I got 2/3 weeks & this morning it still said 2/3weeks so I'm freaking out. Not got any symptoms so also freaking out about no symptoms really after MMC last year at around 6.5/7 weeks 😭😫feeling really worried

lucea87 · 27/04/2021 16:34

Just checking in so the thread is on my watching xx

Hope everyone is ok xx

Bad news for me this weekend, one of my twins has stopped growing at 6 weeks. Literally days after our first scan 😢 was referred to EPU for a scan today, have to go back next week as because of the size they can't rule it either way yet (but there was no blood flow or heartbeat still and baby hasn't grown since 6 weeks still). Also have a slight bleed and a cyst on my ovary too but both could be nothing so will be checked again next week along with deciding a care plan. My surviving twin is growing well though and nice strong heartbeat still so fingers crossed I should go on to have a normal single pregnancy now. Measuring 8 weeks and 4/5 days now. So EDD 2/3 December.

@DarceyCat I get a funny kind of stomach in the morning after my tea which is kinda like the feeling you get when you drink a load of water on an empty tummy. I'm lucky as that is only type of nausea but boobs are sore enough that if I had nausea too I'd feel very hard done by 😆

Thank you lovely. Trying to be positive that we have one baby and for the most part we've only thought it was one baby, it's just those 2 weeks we thought we were having 2. We're sad for the baby we have lost but so grateful that we still have one little bean growing in there. Just really hoping I have a healthy pregnancy from here now ❤️

Think I'm going to have to tell work sooner rather than later about my pregnancy, I did want to hold off but I've found out with covid they have to do a full risk assessment on me!

Mosshead348 · 27/04/2021 17:38

Any NHS workers on here? I have just seen the maternity policy and I am horrified!!!! Expected them to be one of the better employers but only 8 weeks at full pay is really poor!

cutejeans · 27/04/2021 17:41

Hi everyone,
Hope I'm okay to join? I'm 6+1 with my first pregnancy, due 20th December! I'm only 20 so finding it hard to find people to talk to about being pregnant!
Got my first scan booked in a couple of weeks, I'm so excited x

Mosshead348 · 27/04/2021 17:43

Hi @cutejeans and congratulations on your pregnancy and little Christmas baby! That must be hard but that’s exactly what this group is for, so I hope it gives you some comfort.xx

Velvetscrunchy · 27/04/2021 17:47

Hi. I’m 6w exactly today and have that watery feeling in my stomach that I get sometimes before my period. Anyone else have/had this?

cutejeans · 27/04/2021 17:47

Thanks @Mosshead348 my friends have been really supportive but they don't really understand so hard to talk to them about specifics! So glad I've found MNGrin

Pineapple87 · 27/04/2021 18:06

I’m 6w today also @Velvetscrunchy
I’ve had a few period pains today, haven’t ever MC, last time I was pregnant was over 14 years ago. Seem so strange this time round, I’ve got sicky heartburn atm it’s unbearable had it for days now, no sickness yet tho. Congratulations.

Mosshead348 · 27/04/2021 18:27

@cutejeans I’m definitely a good bit older than you but also the first in my friend group to have a baby so I know exactly what you mean! They just don’t get it all do they 😂 just wait until it’s their turn xx

Thank you ❤️

I told work just before I was 6 weeks and I'm so glad I did. Just my manager and HR. It's meant I've been able to get the support I needed this week x

tuxedocat · 27/04/2021 18:37

@lucea87 so sorry for your news, wishing you a healthy pregnancy going forwards.

I feel wiped today. I go through phrases where I’m really chill and then I panic I have no symptoms and would literally not know other wise! As I said before I had this with my son, so I think it’s normal for me, but my brain thinks otherwise 😂
Time seems to be dragging by so slowly 😫

Velvetscrunchy · 27/04/2021 18:55

@lucea87 So sorry to hear your news x

@Pineapple87 Congratulations to you too! I can’t figure out what’s going on with me. I feel like I have no symptoms compared to others. The only time I get cramping is when I go for a walk and then it’s ok if I rest for a bit. I was tired enough to need a nap some days but it’s all disappeared the last few days so left me a little nervous. I think @DarceyCat mentioned having nausea that’s not really the usual type. I think I am like that. I don’t feel like I’m about to be sick/gag but I do feel sick - if that even makes sense! Maybe the kind of sick you get if you’ve been in a hot room too long. It’s difficult to explain... then I start to wonder if it’s all in my head!

TreeRoad · 27/04/2021 18:56

@Mosshead348 Yep! What country of the UK do you work in? The maternity policy is poor, but apparently in comparison to other employers, it’s good. 😳

TreeRoad · 27/04/2021 18:58

@lucea87 sorry to read your news. Glad the surviving twin is looking strong and healthy.
