I've had cramps the last few days, and started bleeding last night. It's mostly brown with red spotting.
A huge part of my brain was thinking "stay calm, this is probably normal"
But I still freaked out and cried a lot.

It's so sad how little support there is available if you need advice outside of hours. I rang the EPU, who were closed but redirected to another department who just me to speak to my midwife at my appointment next Tuesday!!!

Luckily I have text my midwife who's been Intouch and booked me a call with EPU tomorrow at 11.

I'm just trying to relax between now and then and hope nothing is wrong 😑

tuxedocat · 27/04/2021 11:25

Just place marking ☺️ I’ve got a dead runny nose today and I’m tired after an awful night sleep!

May2311 · 27/04/2021 11:41

Morning all

Thanks for the new thread.

I haven't commented in a while and as there is so many of us it's hard to keep up!

Im 8w 2days today, sometimes feel slightly nauseous and have to be very careful with what I eat but other than that doing ok! I am also still quite tired but my DD is going through a terrible teething spell ( think there is 3 or 4 coming through at once) so nights have been disturbed so could just be that!

It's an anxious time the first trimester and I think most mums go through the same. I've held off going for early scan but another month till my 12 week one seems forever away!! My booking in isn't until I'm 9w 5d and I don't think my scan is booked until after that- so don't even have a date to work towards yet!!

Xxx

Pineapple87 · 27/04/2021 11:42

Tux I have the same to my nose won’t stop, I was so emotional yesterday I couldn’t stop crying 😢
I had a terrible night sleep but I think that’s cause I fell asleep at 6pm-7pm.
Exhausted constantly but deffo worth it :) xx

BrodieKD · 27/04/2021 11:46

I'm now 7 weeks and 2 days - symptoms are defs ramping up a gear. I ended up having a bleed on Saturday (very small but gave me a big fright) so I am having an easy couple of days. 5 days until my private scan...it's going to be a long week!

jodielouise26 · 27/04/2021 11:56

@Horehound @TTC94 I phoned the doctors anyway as my mum was just going on and on and they've told me to cal back after 12 for an appointment this afternoon. (Same day appointments are unheard of!) 😂

No bleeding 🤞🏻 I just dont feel very with it recently. Most the stuff that comes out my mouth is all muddled up too.
Hopefully it's nothing. Makes me feel slightly better that I'm not the only one with these aches! ☺️ thanks girlies x

Horehound · 27/04/2021 12:00

@Sair44411 fingers crossed all is ok. There's so many women whove had bleeds and it's been ok. I agree you are just kind if left to it, aren't you? I guess if the worst is to happen there's nothing they can do anyway which I imagine is how they see it :/
Horrible waiting in the unknown though. Flowers

@jodielouise26 oh that's good if you can be seen today!

Horehound · 27/04/2021 12:07

@jodielouise26 also...baby brain...yep I had this big time in my first pregnancy and still have it even though my boy is 19months! I just get a complete brain fog, can't think of words. It's horrendous.

gizmo167 · 27/04/2021 12:11

@Sair44411 hope you get seen by someone!!! It really is awful how little support there is and even worse now with Covid, Drs wont even see you anymore and theres little that can be put at ease over the phone!

I'm going to TRY ring GP tomorrow if I still feel off. Wont make much difference I know but maybe a crying woman will spark some form of compassion!!!

jodielouise26 · 27/04/2021 12:26

@Horehound I'm only 7+5 didn't think baby brain would arrive that quickly 😂
Feeling awfully sick today so I'd say the sickness has arrived too 🤢

MamaMoonbeam · 27/04/2021 12:26

Place making! 😁

Inthecanyon · 27/04/2021 12:29

Hey everyone,

I’ve ended up at EPU on IV fluids as I’ve been so sick. They have said it’s most likely to be HG. I wouldn’t mind so much if I was just being sick and then felt that relief but the constant nausea is just awful. I’ve managed half a biscuit this morning, I’m just so worried this will affect the baby’s growth and development. I haven’t got a scan until 15th may which is a private one at 8/9 weeks. Just the thought of going on like this for at least another 7 weeks, if not the whole pregnancy is making me really doubt my decision to have a baby. I feel so lucky to be pregnant but I’m really struggling Sad

TreeRoad · 27/04/2021 13:09

I’d posted at the end of the last thread that I was going for a scan this morning at 8 weeks.

All is well, heartbeat going strong and measuring on time. ☺️

Moo37 · 27/04/2021 13:09

@Inthecanyon
My first two pregnancy I was very ill, I lost around 7kg in each pregnancy in the first trimester, mine usually starts week 6- week 17 but I've started slightly earlier this time at week 5. Both my babies were fine and I lived on barely anything ( the occasional chips and gravy) in the first trimester

tuxedocat · 27/04/2021 13:11

@Inthecanyon so sorry to hear you’re in EPU. Hope the IV fluids help. It’s understandable for you to feel so frustrated by it - I’m sure any of us would! all your feelings are valid, hope you manage to come out soon x

tuxedocat · 27/04/2021 13:11

@TreeRoad great news!!

Hi @Inthecanyon so sorry to hear your feeling so rubbish. I’m in a similar situation in that I haven’t been able to leave my bed in 3 days now due to the incredibly nausea. I’ve tried all the “usual” remedies and no luck. I’m not really physically being sick, just a few times but the nausea is constant and I can’t even stomach water. I am so worried about fluids. How did you end up on IV? Did you just phone EPU?xx

May2311 · 27/04/2021 13:33

@TreeRoad lovely news!

@Inthecanyon sorry to hear your so unwell with it. Fingers crossed it eases soon. Have they given you any medication for it? Xxx

Inthecanyon · 27/04/2021 13:38

@Mosshead348 I’ve tried 3 different anti sickness medications but still vomiting 10+ times a day so my GP referred me for assessment of dehydration and the drs there decided to do the fluids.

@May2311 I have got oral cyclizine to take but they have given me an IV dose here.

Mosshead348 · 27/04/2021 14:01

So awful @Inthecanyon really hope that works and you feel better soon x

chippedchocolate · 27/04/2021 14:04

Hello! I was on the second thread but only in the latter stages - can't quite believe I'm here but I've had my booking in and just got a call for scan on 1/06. Can't decide whether to go private before then - I mc last October, it started on the day of the private scan. And now I feel nervous. Just don't know if we can wait another month though. 7w5 today.

DarceyCat · 27/04/2021 14:17

Hi everyone, I rang my fertility nurses yesterday for advice as it's unclear what is going on (had BFN day 28, bled for 4 days then BFP on CD10, or 38 depending which way you look at it!) - they've booked me in for a viability scan. They said I could have it this Thursday (6+0) but I've opted for the week after at 7 weeks as I think any ambiguity at 6 weeks (after my MMC 18 months ago) would send my anxiety sky high. I did another test this morning and the CB date indicator has gone from 2-3 to 3+ so I think that might be good?! Just got to get through the next 9 days till the scan now.

Before MMC I had low level nausea for a couple of weeks before the BFP and was 3+ when I first tested which would have been quite high HCG for my dates at that time. Currently I feel just sort of... Odd. Sort of nausea but not really like I'm going to be sick, just... Odd. It doesn't feel like the same kind of nausea as for example car sickness or food poisoning. Anyone else have a different quality of nausea in pregnancy?! Is that a thing?!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 27/04/2021 14:24

@TreeRoad Congratulations!!

@DarceyCat I think that was a good call... I hope it goes quickly for you. My CB went to 3+ last Tuesday, then I was scanned yesterday at exactly 6w... they wouldn't do an internal, so they could only see the sacs and not a heartbeat, which has made me into an anxious wreck despite still having all the symptoms I've had so far.

I'm with you on the odd nausea, too! It just feels a bit offputting, unless there's a strong smell or something, and then I start feeling more nauseous.

I'm really anxious about whether to try and get a private scan, or wait until next Saturday...

@Sair44411 No advice, really, but I'm thinking of you. I hope the EPU are helpful tomorrow, and that your bleeding stops Flowers

Firstbornunicorn · 27/04/2021 15:28

@DarceyCat I was just wondering about the nausea myself. I don’t feel like I’m about to imminently toss my cookies, but the thought of food is not appealing and I feel odd. Got a stomachache, too, but I don’t think it’s uterine cramps or anything.
