@Scarletpig1 and @Cumspe Great advice, I'll try curling up my knees.

I wish I could keep the pregnancy quiet sometimes from my MIL and others. Unfortunately my DH is a wine merchant so as soon I don't have a glass of wine in front of me it makes it pretty obvious what's going on. I try to just nod along with all the information and stuff she says. In fact she told me I shouldn't stretch/reach for things!? Is that a thing? I was a bit sceptical.

AlltheQs · 16/05/2021 11:57

Just need a moan.
9 weeks and been sick and bedbound since 4.5 weeks. Nothing easing the nausea and struggling to get fluids down.
12 week scan in 3.5 weeks and without seeing the baby struggling to remain positive Sad

Em39ma · 16/05/2021 12:29

@Horehound I’ve got the same issue with the wardrobes. We have 2 free standing, but our fitted ones had to stay with the house. We have asked the daughters of owner to take the wardrobes that in new house out. They are revolting, we did talk about if we could live with them, but decided we can’t.
To be honest the hole house needs gutting, but having to prioritise what needs doing first.

Sparklestars86 · 16/05/2021 12:41

@arb108 I get the sneezing pain. And also got pain between my bottom ribs.

@AlltheQs that sounds awful. I've had constant nausea and tiredness which has been bad enough but not remotely been bed bound. I am 9+3 and started to feel a little better last couple of days so hopefully you will get a reprieve soon too. Xx

Em39ma · 16/05/2021 12:45

@AlltheQs
Have you told the GP
I have severe HG and can hardly do anything. I’m now on 2 different medications to try and help. I got sick yesterday for the first time in a week, but did miss a dose as was out having my scan. The medication still make me tired, but I am up and sitting in a chair rather than lying in bed crying.
Please tell your doctor you have options.

Cumspe · 16/05/2021 13:11

@Horehound if I could I would keep it a secret but it’s been 3 weeks and I feels like forever don’t think I could manage another 6 months without letting slip 🤪. DP and I already use plurals when we talk about it so a slip up will be easy. Plus if my bump has already started will be harder to hide without the excuse of lockdown. Googled one of the videos and it made me cry I just couldn’t keep that big a secret but would be wonderful to see the faces of family and friends 🙂.

Scarletpig1 · 16/05/2021 13:31

My sickness seems to have gotten a lot worse this past week. I'm 9weekd 1 day just now. Think last time I was better by 12 weeks. Im on annual leave week after next so just need to get through work this work but just feel too bleurgh to concentrate. I only work three days a week but still it's a thought 🤢

AlltheQs · 16/05/2021 15:28

Thanks @Em39ma. Yes Dr aware and am on antiemetics. I was bad with my first pregnancy too so they’re just keeping an eye on my urine to see if they need to admit me or not. I can handle it fine most days, just feeling a bit sorry for myself today. I miss playing with my daughter!

climbershell · 16/05/2021 15:40

@Scarletpig1 I'm 9+5, things ramped up further for me from 9+1. Horrendous headaches and even more intense tiredness. My bedtime moved from 9.30 to 9pm and Wed & yesterday I was also in bed 4-7pm, can't sleep properly in the day but podcast on and eyes shut dosing, just got into bed now too.

I feel so pathetic moaning, but I'm so fed up. I'm praying eases off in week 10, as does for lots, but for some continues on til week 12,14,16... If goes on much longer it might actually change my mind on a second baby, but I've never wanted an only child!

2021DecemberDueDate · 16/05/2021 17:55

Hi all,
Kept quiet but have still been following Smile It's has been reassuring seeing you guys go through some of the same things and knowing I'm not alone.

Luckily nausea never hit, but been struggling tiredness and low mood. I've been trying to do the things that have previously helped with depression/anxiety like exercise and healthy eating, but hard to motivate yourself when you feel like shit. I've been crying EVERY day - big stuff like money, body changes, work but also because of silly stuff like the dog looks sad or we've run out of crisps Confused My poor husband doesn't know what to do, he's trying his best but I'm really horrible some days.

Just crossing my fingers everything will feel better post scan on the 24th. We're waiting to tell family until 18th June as first time we can get them all together - feels so far away!

With you on the in laws. They're coming to stay with us for 2 wks Shock Shouldn't complain as they're helping us with house renovations but it'll be a loooong few weeks

Moo37 · 16/05/2021 18:00

@climbershell
I hear you with the French parents. My hubby is African/ French. I had both my first children in France with only a little understanding of French. And when ever parents visit I just nod a long quietly, but they always new things were my way not theirs 😂

Moo37 · 16/05/2021 18:06

@Arb108 yes I get pain the same as you when sneezing and in bed been getting them for a few weeks. I. 8+1. I found if I l an forward when sneezing it hurts less 😂

Arb108 · 16/05/2021 18:58

@Moo37 I've had it a little while now too. I'm 8+4. Glad to hear a few of us have it, makes it seem a little more normal. I'll definitely be leaning forward and bringing my knees up now I know.

Sparklestars86 · 16/05/2021 19:29

I had no idea I sneezed so often! Xx

Sair44411 · 17/05/2021 14:21

So my husband just kindly pointed out to me that I have spots on my face.

Not only that, he then asks me why?!?!

My reply was .... well, I am pregnant and that kinda does weird stuff to your body. Leave my spots alone!

Men just don't really get it do they??

Horehound · 17/05/2021 16:03

I think my husband knows to say nothing Grin

OP posts:
Em39ma · 17/05/2021 17:01

I’ve got a spot that just won’t go away.
DH knows better now than to say anything.

Firstbornunicorn · 17/05/2021 17:23

I have one RIGHT on the end of my nose. Bloody awful looking 😂😂😂

AnonymousXXIX · 17/05/2021 18:04

I started breaking out this week too. So annoying, as so far the last 3 weeks my skin had been perfect!

Em39ma · 17/05/2021 18:06

My hair is absolutely awful. Even straight after being washed looks greasy and yuck.
I needs cutting (yay hurry up 29th) but even then it’s more than needing eight foot off.

Emmgrem · 17/05/2021 20:31

Anyone else still not had a call from midwife to book in their booking appt? I'm 9+1, self referred straight away and nothing yet... I'm so impatient as I just want the 12 week scan date sorted and for this whole thing to feel more real!

I'm on holiday next week in Scotland which will be my 10th week and I could do without them calling me then as I doubt I'll have any signal up in the highlands! I know it's busy in this area but should I pester them?

AnonymousXXIX · 17/05/2021 20:48

In my experience trying to ring them can't hurt @emmgrem!

Anyone else suffering from heartburn? It's slowly replaced my morning sickness over the last few days and as I've never had it before I have nothing in the house for it. 9pm now and dreading going to bed..

Horehound · 17/05/2021 21:02

I've had heartburn a couple of times after larger meals. I never get it unless pregnant but last time wasn't until the last couple of months so I was shocked to have it so soon.

I stood up from sofa a wee while ago and had a really sharp stabbing pain in groin...guess that's round ligament pain?

Got my 12 week scan tomorrow at 4pm though! Excited :)

OP posts:
Sair44411 · 17/05/2021 21:35

@Emmgrem I would ring them to check. I had my app already with midwife. Got my scan date through the post on Friday and it's not till 11th June - I'll be nearly 14 weeks then!

We have a private scan booked for this Friday though - can't wait!!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 17/05/2021 21:58

I’ve got heartburn and a sort of light stomach ache? It’s not pleasant. It seems worse at night. I’m not looking forward to bed either.
