Just checking in x 7WK3 today, still feeling really awful so all your talk of food makes me want to heave lol! I didn't have it this bad with my dd!!

Had bloods/urine done at surgery this week bc I rang to see if I could get anything for the nausea & sickness but tests don't show anything worrying on urine or sodium bloods so guess ill just have to try cope!! Haven't had any contact yet with midwife, wish it would hurry up lol

gizmo167 · 14/05/2021 15:54

@lillygolightly thinking of you & hope all goes well today x

TakeYourFinalPosition · 14/05/2021 16:12

@Em39ma Is this your first? Where I am, subsequent pregnancies get two less scans and two less appointments than first pregnancies. I've got no idea why, but the midwife showed me when she was talking through what to expect.

I didn't get an early scan at booking in, either, but I'd have loved one Grin. I had one in the EPU for bleeding though; so I have seen baby. It just feels like a long time ago! I've got a private scan booked in just over a week.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 14/05/2021 16:13

@gizmo167 I've had no contact with my midwife either - someone from the team did my bloods and I had another person do my booking in call, but I'll meet my actual midwife at 16 weeks, apparantly.

Scarletpig1 · 14/05/2021 16:21

@Em39ma how many scans do you normally have. In my previous pregnancy we all only got 2 scans as standard at 12 weeks and 20 weeks. (In Scotland). I think I might get extra scans this time as I am two stone heavier now and will have just turned 40 by my due date

Em39ma · 14/05/2021 16:24

@TakeYourFinalPosition she just said they had been taken because less face to face due to COVID.
I’m meant to get early scan because I have a history of ectopic pregnancy and recurrent miscarriage. Her answer was we would no at the 12 weeks scan.
My ectopic was also a silent one, which means it’s more dangerous as my tube could burst and until collapse due to internal bleeding I wouldn’t know.

Em39ma · 14/05/2021 16:27

@Scarletpig1 I’m 42 with a history of polyhydramnios ( to much water)
I had scan every 2 weeks from 24 last time. I already look around 20 weeks pregnant at 7 weeks.

Em39ma · 14/05/2021 16:29

@TakeYourFinalPosition no not my first. Dd is 19 month

TakeYourFinalPosition · 14/05/2021 16:49

@Em39ma Oh, that’s really shit then. I’m sorry!

Can you get a second opinion? Did you get a risk assessment done? Mine came out as “low” so I wasn’t entitled to more calls/scans, but you’d have thought yours would be higher and therefore make you automatically eligible for more, rather than it being down to one person...

Em39ma · 14/05/2021 17:02

@TakeYourFinalPosition there was no mention of it being able to change. Will get a consultant appointment at some point after 19 weeks.
Hopefully once I see them they will up my scans again. We will book private ones in any way. I had a gender scan with my daughter and will do the same again.
Just seems to me they are using COVID as an excuse to be less hands on.

TreeRoad · 14/05/2021 17:40

Just catching up with everyone’s messages.

I’m 10+3 today, it’s crazy to think there’s less than 30 weeks to go now. Bump is rounding and we’ve started buying a few things.

We’ve got the pram, changing station, moses basket and crib. Makes it feel very real!

The nausea has settled down massively (some hope for any of you who’re a bit earlier on and are struggling), which is great.

Counting down until my 12wk scan in a couple of weeks, can’t wait to see the baby looking like an actual baby!

climbershell · 14/05/2021 18:13

@TreeRoad I'm 9+3 and keep praying the all day nausea will go at 10wk (or least become just a few hour nausea) & I can get my life back. You give me hope!!

We should be able to get Moses basket, potentially pram, push chair and lots of clothes etc as hand me down from family, hoping so to save money, but waiting til next weekend to tell family, when can tell my dad in person! Taking his b'day presents down and will wrap up little newborn socks in bday paper too! We've just posted one and scan photo to partners parents in France, with a note not to open til we ring them 🥰

Horehound · 14/05/2021 18:29

I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday and I'm so excited! So is DH as he had a cold when I had my early scan so be wasn't allowed in so it will be extra special for him :)

I don't see a bump yet despite this being baby number two. I do have a ouch if fat though from baby 1 so maybe that's disguising it haba

Thank you for all the well wishes for today, it was good news with both babies were there with heartbeats and measuring 7+5 & 8+1.

I burst into tears before I even got into the scan room as I was terrified and then cried a bucket after hearing they were both ok. No reason for the bleeding could be found and as far and I was told that for now everything looks as it should and all is ok. They also did all my booking in and bloods so that’s all done and have been very lovely in having me back for another scan in 2 weeks time. I’ll have another scan at 12 weeks and then another at 16 weeks and it will be scans 4 weekly after that. My twins are each in their own sack and each with their own placenta which was good to find out.

I am so relieved, still absolutely terrified and hoping so hard that everything is going to be ok.

Thank you so much for all the well wishing and support it has been very much appreciated. X

Scarletpig1 · 14/05/2021 20:50

@Lillygolightly good to hear all went well Smile

Em39ma · 14/05/2021 21:25

@Lillygolightly I’m so happy for you.
Hope we get the same good news tomorrow.

Sparklestars86 · 14/05/2021 21:35

@Lillygolightly amazing news! I'm so pleased for you and both of your little ones 💕💕
My nausea seems a bit more manageable today but I also feel like my stomach has shrunk- I ate dinner then felt as though it was stuck above my ribs and couldn't reach my stomach. Organs already getting shifted and squished to make room I guess? The enforced smaller portions should help my escalating weight gain from eating through the nausea the last month and a half at least! xx

Cuddles21 · 15/05/2021 00:20

@Lillygolightly so delighted to hear that both of the twins are OK - such great news on a Friday 😁

Sair44411 · 15/05/2021 07:52

@Lillygolightly aww what wonderful news!! So glad they are all safe and sound in there. Wishing you well and try to relax now xx

AnonymousXXIX · 15/05/2021 09:24

Morning everyone : )

My morning sickness has been slightly more manageable the last 2-3 days and now I am instantly worrying why it's not getting worse any more lol. You can't win! Grateful to feel better but also anxious. And it doesn't help that I now don't know whether I am 7 weeks or 8 weeks.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 15/05/2021 09:45

Ahh @Lillygolightly that has made my day. Congratulations!! I’m so pleased everything is okay.

I don’t know if I’ve got a bug or I've eaten something dodgy but I’ve had diarrhoea for over 24 hours now, and it’s not good. No sickness, no real pains, I feel okay other than weak and irritated... but I’m worried about not eating much/the effect it’ll have on baby. It doesn’t appear that you can take anything for it in pregnancy, Imodium says not suitable, Pepto his mol is not suitable...

I guess I should try and force down some toast but I don’t think there’s anything I want to do less than eat right now.

Hope you’re all having healthier Saturday mornings!
