@Elizabeth134 I hate salad and actual cheese atm, so my work lunch is just bread with cheese spread and I pull apart to put my salt and vinegar crisps in the middle at lunch every single day the last 2 weeks!

Firstbornunicorn · 12/05/2021 21:49

My go-to at the moment is a sliced apple with peanut butter and some cheddar cubes. The thought of most meats makes me a little queasy.

From about 20ish weeks in my last pregnancy, all I wanted to eat was half chips, half fried rice and curry sauce. I had to limit it to once every couple of weeks, or I’d have been the size of a house 😂😂

Cherryblossom2021 · 12/05/2021 22:31

@Elizabeth134 I was like that up until a couple of weeks ago, I couldn’t even go near the rotisserie chicken section in the supermarket without wanting to throw up because of the smell. It’s eased abit now, I still feel abit nauseous in the morning but by the time I start work I’m ok - thank god!! Still very tired though , glad I’m working from home cos it gets to 3pm and I’m shattered and need to sleep so I either book my calendar out as meetings for a couple of hours or put do. Not disturb on my teams profile!!!

mrsawhite · 12/05/2021 22:54

@Firstbornunicorn that sounds yum!

Cuddles21 · 13/05/2021 06:42

I just find the hunger crazy! Last night I had two slices of toast with butter and jam (can't honestly remember the last time I had that!) and I think it was the nicest toast I had in my life 😆. I used to have two apples at work as snacks between lunch and dinner and now I'm having those with two yogurts and I'm still starving! I'm normally a eat little bit often person but this takes the biscuit. I'm gonna have a mini pizza tomorrow evening as dreaming of it all week and a sausage sandwich 😆

Velvetscrunchy · 13/05/2021 06:48

I have the same hunger, I’m just starving all day. Is anyone trying not to give in to it? I’m partly worried about how much is stress eating and how much is actually my body (the growling in the morning tells me which one!).
I’ve already put on 9lbs Shock. I know some of it is bloating from the IVF meds but some is definitely this constant state of hunger.

climbershell · 13/05/2021 08:36

@Velvetscrunchy I'm not stress eating, I don't feel stressed. Just v sick. I really hope the nausea goes soon, or is just a few hours of the day so I can get back to my usual healthy diet!

Firstbornunicorn · 13/05/2021 09:16

@Cuddles21 sounds almost as good as post-birth toast!

Elizabeth134 · 13/05/2021 09:31

Had an early scan this morning with my consultant (who will probably end up delivering this little one which makes me feel super emotional) and she has moved the date officially two days back so little one is now due on Christmas Day. Always said I didn’t want a Christmas baby but now I’m quite excited (fully aware they probably won’t come on that date but nice to look
Forward to).

Moo37 · 13/05/2021 10:15

@Elizabeth134 me too, always said I would never have a Xmas baby, but I'm also due Xmas day. My first two were a week early so I'd think this one may be too.

Lillygolightly · 13/05/2021 10:18

My due date is Christmas Day too, but with twins (if they are still in there) I’m sure it will be at least a couple of weeks earlier.

Well just today and 1 more sleep to go until my scan to see if my little beans are ok. The bleeding has been so worrying and it’s been on and off at points but heavier than what I would expect for things to still be ok. I’m trying really hard to stay positive but am under no illusions that the news tomorrow may not be good. My house is an utter tip as I’ve been to scared to hoover or take the bins out in case I make things worse. I think I’m going to pay my eldest some money to do some jobs for me this weekend.

For those of you talking about food aversions and cravings. My cravings for each of my pregnancies with my DD’s has been different.

DD1 - Cherry tomatoes and what’s funny about this is that before pregnancy I hated any form of tomato. Still love them now though.

DD2 - Cucumbers with salt or dipped in hummus

DD3 - Fried eggs and ALL the carbs!! I put on some much weight Blush

In every pregnancy I can never eat burgers, only Macdonalds burgers any other burger sends me funny and turns my stomach and makes a quick reappearance if I try to eat it Envy

Moo37 · 13/05/2021 10:26

@Lillygolightly good luck for your scan hopefully all is well.

Kinsters · 13/05/2021 12:01

Lillygolightly good luck for your scan tomorrow, hoping for the best for you.

In all my pregnancies I can't eat chocolate or too much sweet stuff without feeling really sick. I tried some cookies and cream ice cream today and that was a nope as well. We're getting takeout pasta this evening though and I can't wait!

Em39ma · 13/05/2021 12:18

I can’t eat anything sweet either. Seems to be only savoury foods that stay put. I’m ok with apples and grapes though.

TreeRoad · 13/05/2021 12:39

This conversation is making me hungry 😂

I’m also like a bottomless pit. I want salty things all of the time, so sweet things aren’t getting a look in. I spend half my time counting down the minutes until my next meal. 😂

AnonymousXXIX · 13/05/2021 12:54

Just had an early scan. Saw heartbeat : o bit stunned. They put me at 7 weeks rather than 8 weeks though! Has anyone else had this? I was so sure of the dates.

tuxedocat · 13/05/2021 13:02

I had an early scan last week, I was brought forward by 3 days.
They did say it will vary and depends how baby is at the time of the scan but 12w will be more accurate.

The frustrating thing is I think each week can only vary by a few mm or so, could you have implanted late?

Horehound · 13/05/2021 13:06

Implantation or conception is not always immediate.

Loving hearing of all the scans though

@Lillygolightly wishing you so much luck for tomorrow Flowers
**@cloud2021* @Moo37* etc I will not get the vaccine in the first trimester. Midwife said that sounded like a good idea. You are no more likely to catch covid being pregnant anyway, I have no health issues, so I will only be more vulnerable once we get to the third trimester when lungs are compromised by baby

You are not even supposed to take paracetamol in the first trimester! And if you do, 1/2 dose & v infrequently. I'd love to take some now & most days the last 2 week tbh, got a giant headache but not worth it.
Hmm my midwife told me paracetamol was safe to take. I haven't had many but occasionally when I've had a headache...

AnonymousXXIX · 13/05/2021 13:27

@tuxedocat @Horehound I have regular 24-26 day cycles though, so both ovulation and implantation would have been veeeery unusually late. It's possible, just so unlikely. I am trying to work out how it even lines up with when we dtd lol.

Horehound · 13/05/2021 13:30

No but I mean from the sperm meeting the egg can take 5 days and implantation I think can take up to 9. So there is definitely a scope of having dates not matching up.

OP posts:
tuxedocat · 13/05/2021 13:31

@AnonymousXXIX I wouldn’t worry too much until the 12w scan as I think early dating isn’t massively accurate due to the margins being so minimal? They moved me +3 and I knew I implanted early but it still doesn’t quite line up!

AnonymousXXIX · 13/05/2021 13:35

We only dtd March 25, 27, 29, 31, April 2 (week I would have normally ovulated), and then also April 9 and April 16. Much less than usual as we were so busy with work last month.

Anyway it's fine. 7 weeks would push the due date a week, which would be great, because previously it was December 24th Shock

Mayneedanextraroom · 13/05/2021 13:44

Hi everyone sorry I’ve been quiet I’ve had awful nausea and so incredibly tired.

@Lillygolightly I really hope everything’s ok tomorrow, I had bleeding which I was so convinced was a mc, I even stopped taking vitamins as I was so convinced there was no baby. Had a repeat scan 11 days after a scan where I was told I was 4/5 weeks to find a 7 week baby with a heartbeat. So I do have everything crossed for you that all is ok. I know the uncertainty though and the waiting is awful.

@AnonymousXXIX I had the same, scanned at what should have been 6 weeks and told I was only 4/5 and to expect a bad outcome, returned 11 days later and there’s a 7 week + 1 baby with a heartbeat putting me exactly one week behind where I thought I should be. But like others have said you can implant late and measurements arent hugely accurate when they’re so so tiny. I also have regular cycles of 28 days occasionally 29.

Kinsters · 13/05/2021 13:53

Sair44411 I always take paracetamol if I feel rough. I wouldn't want to be taking it for an extended period of time but every now and then I don't see the harm.
