@Lillygolightly Can you afford a private scan? You shouldn’t need to; but the wait until Friday sounds horrific. I’m thinking of you, best of luck x

Lillygolightly · 11/05/2021 19:47

Thank you all for your lovey thoughts and well wishes.

I could afford a private scan but I don’t want to, I don’t want to pay for bad news. As hard as this will be I will wait, and to be honest with that wait offers a tiny little bit of hope and I can hold onto that until Friday. Xxx

flowersatthecastle · 11/05/2021 20:59

@Lillygolightly I'm sure Friday seems forever away. I hope you get good news.

@Sparklestars86 @Shazza86 @Kinsters there is another Facebook group already linked to "December 21 Babies" in birth clubs. I'll bump it as the thread has been inactive for a while, but the Facebook group is active Smile

Kinsters · 12/05/2021 01:31

That's such a shame the group is closed to new people. I loved my group from last baby and plenty of us only joined after twelve weeks or later.

Thanks for letting us know about the other group flowersatthecastle

TakeYourFinalPosition · 12/05/2021 10:22

I think the Facebook group thing hasn't been presented in the best light...

There are over 130 people in there right now, and I'd say a max of 30% of them post. Some people shared concerns that if it got much bigger, people wouldn't be comfortable sharing private things, and it seemed a lot of people agreed. It's already a massive group, loads bigger than most mother and baby groups get. A quick glance at the other MN due date threads show that most of the groups have 50/60 people in them, max.

It wasn't a clique-y "let's exclude everyone who hasn't joined us" situation, it was a "do we close the doors for a bit to keep the group small enough that people feel comfortable sharing". I don't run it or anything; but I can understand the position.

This has been a really lovely thread, it'd be a shame if it soured over that.

@Lillygolightly I hope you had an okay night, and you're doing alright this morning.

Lillygolightly · 12/05/2021 10:35

Thank you @TakeYourFinalPosition

The bleeding did slow overnight but I am still bleeding. I had a wave a nausea this morning when trying to eat my crumpets. I don’t know what to think, deep down I just think that it can’t be good, but at the same time part of me is still holding on to hope that everything is somehow ok. I’m not cramping but I don’t feel right either, tender or uncomfortable maybe.

I wish I could snap my fingers and it be Friday and seeing that my little beans are ok. Better yet I wish I could snap my fingers and just be holding my babies in my arms. Chances are though that one or both have them have gone. I don’t know what to feel at all, I’m still grieving the loss of my son and this pregnancy seemed like an unexpected ray of light through all the sadness. Now it could just be even more sadness to add to everything.

I hope everyone else is doing ok. I know that reading about miscarriage or possible miscarriage is so scary when you are pregnant, so I’m sorry if this is frightening for anybody.

Shazza86 · 12/05/2021 10:38

@TakeYourFinalPosition I don't think anyone meant it as a negative thing or anything. I was able to join just before it closed and yes so many people. That's why I mentioned maybe having another group if people had missed out and wanted to be in one. I know there were a few of us waiting until after the 12 week scan to join 😊

Shazza86 · 12/05/2021 10:51

@Lillygolightly been thinking of you lots. That's really good signs, really hope the next few days pass by quickly. What time is your scan on Friday?

Horehound · 12/05/2021 10:54

Where did all those people come from?! Do we have 100+ on this thread??

I don't have FB and prefer using these threads for anonymous posting hehe

@Lillygolightly poor you. I have everything crossed for you.

@TakeYourFinalPosition it makes sense - the FB group I joined for my first pregnancy did the same for much the same reasons (but at a later date as numbers didn't get that high until later when people started adding in people from their NCT groups, etc rather than people it only being people who happened across the group on Mumsnet).

The other group has 20ish members at present.

Shazza86 · 12/05/2021 11:14

@flowersatthecastle I can't seem to find the other one. Not sure if I'm in the right place. New to NM. Are you able to share the link to the other Facebook page?

Wiltshire90 · 12/05/2021 11:16

@Horehound I'm the same, I don't have a FB account and would rather stay on here!!

I am planning on joining NCT to make friends locally.

Cumspe · 12/05/2021 11:39

@Lillygolightly I am sorry to hear what you are going through. Nothing I can say can make you feel better but I am think of you and wishing you the best for Friday.

Em39ma · 12/05/2021 12:14

I’ve got a NCT group from my first pregnancy, we all get on but I’m older than them so we don’t have a lot in common. I also useless with technology so don’t have Instagram etc. All goes over my head.

Horehound · 12/05/2021 12:16

Yes I would deffo recommend. I didn't do any classes the first time around and I think it was a big mistake. I felt "ach I'll figure it all out, don't need a class" but what I didn't factor in was contacts with women going through exactly the same thing as me. I felt very lonely and isolated. So I'll deffo so them this time!

Hi all... today I had my first face to face appointment, they did weight and height, urine sample and blood pressure. Blood pressure was in the normal range but in the high end... but they didn't say anything about. What they noticed though is that my heart rate is very high, which I also noticed checking with a sport watch... I know when I get stressed it gets even higher, but they know want to refer me to a cardiologist and do a 24hr monitor... any one had similar experiences? I am very worried :( Also this morning I received link to book my covid vaccine (also if I am only 32), the appointment is next Wed when I will be 11+2.. I asked the midwife and she said that vaccine is safe at any time of pregnancy and to go for it, as long as it is Pfizer or Moderna... really not sure what to do!

Moo37 · 12/05/2021 13:18

Received my blue letter today. I feel so conflicted on what to do. I'm trying to research everything, but I seem to just find 50/50 information. I'm 7+4, appointment is Monday. I am asthmatic and 40. Has anyone found good information for and against ?

Horehound · 12/05/2021 13:21

I'm deffo getting the vaccine, no question

TakeYourFinalPosition no hard feelings. I was upset to miss out as I found/still find my due date group an invaluable source of support. But there's another one ☺️

Hopefully with these babies we'll all be able to do classes and mother/baby groups. So much was cancelled because of covid last year.

cloud2021 · 12/05/2021 13:35

I'm deffo getting the vaccine, no question
I definitely want to get it too... just wondering if to wait to second trimester or go for it next week at 11 weeks (honestly I am more prone to go for it as I don't think 2 weeks will make a bit difference)
Kinsters · 12/05/2021 13:53

I'd get it if I could but make sure to stock up on paracetamol in case of fever.

Firstbornunicorn · 12/05/2021 14:06

@cloud2021 the only thing that concerns me is that there are mixed opinions out there about whether to wait until the second trimester or not. Where I am, they recommend waiting, but I think it can vary from trust to trust. It’s such a difficult decision to make. I’m very pro-vax, trust science, etc, but I would prefer it if there was a consistent message!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 12/05/2021 14:08

I'm definitely going to get my second dose when it's offered - but I'm a bit of an anomaly anyway, as I had a "blood clot-related" reaction to the first dose, and so had already been told that I'd need my second dose to be a different make... and then I got pregnant. I don't think I'd be as nervous without the reaction that I had before!

I had a call inviting me for a vaccine at short notice on Friday but they couldn't confirm what type it was. I suspect it'll take them forever to find me on dose of Pfizer!

I'm definitely going to look up NCT classes, too. Knowing some local people at the same stages will be nice... my friends will remember different stages, I guess, but it's all a while ago for them, so it'll be nice to know some people with younger children.

AnonymousXXIX · 12/05/2021 14:36

I have told my midwife very clearly that I wanted to be vaccinated, but it looks like it's not going to be a concern for me till 2nd trimester anyway... as my town currently has no pfizer or moderna in stock! (Nor have I been called for vaccination yet anyway.)

Cherryblossom2021 · 12/05/2021 14:37

Hi @cloud2021 I’ve had a 24 heart monitor on this week because of irregular heartbeat and I fainted last weekend. It’s nothing to worry too much about . I had a scan and thought I was 6weeks pregnant although I’ve had every awful symptom u see the sun and found out I’m 11weeks with twins! I also had my covid jab , I had the Pfizer jab and no side effects really , had a short headache that lasted about 5 mins other than that I’ve been fine x
