Just a quick update on my booking appointment for those of you who’ve still to go.
It took about 45 minutes and involved lots of questions about my health, relationship status, whether I feel safe at home, my employment status, current and previous medications/alcohol/smoking/drugs, family history of illness etc.
She took some blood, checked my height, weight and blood pressure and dipped urine to check for any infection.
She also gave me loads of things to take away - books on how the baby develops, vitamins, phone numbers in case of any issues.
Because the baby is IUI conceived, apparently I’ll get extra NHS scans and be consultant-led. I had no idea this was a thing (we only did IUI as we’re both female and needed the sperm 🤷🏻♀️) as I have no health issues, medications and I’m not high risk.
I have a call with my consultant in about 4 weeks and they’ll explain how things will go. She said they won’t let me go over my due date, which is good I guess!
