I have a business but COVID has kind of scuppered it. Was still on maternity leave when COVID started and now pregnant again.
I design and make children’s clothes and sell through the county shows and festivals like carfest.
I miss it, but there is know way I could do it this sick. Think we may shut it down until there about 4 and see then how I feel about starting again.

Horehound · 11/05/2021 13:36

I worked out I have 80.5 days left to work haha

Got so much to do just can't be arsed. So bad.

Congratulations @Kinsters!

And @Minster2012, my fingers are very crossed for you tomorrow. I was a nervous wreck before my second scan!

@Horehound Is the MatB1 the exemption certificate? If so, I got mine this morning, although at my bloods appointment I was told I wouldn’t get it until 12 weeks.

Booking in went well today, and I should get my 12 week scan date soon!

@Moo37 My nausea disappeared last week too, it hadn’t been particularly bad but it was replaced with constant hunger. That’s mostly tailed off too. I’m 8+1 today. It is worrying, but everything was fine at my EPU scan on Saturday.

Firstbornunicorn · 11/05/2021 14:24

I did actually see a little squiggly bean with a heartbeat on Friday at 6+1, so at least I know it isn’t all in my head! It’s just so weird to not feel sick. I have other symptoms, but I can’t help but worry.

TreeRoad · 11/05/2021 15:09

Just a quick update on my booking appointment for those of you who’ve still to go.

It took about 45 minutes and involved lots of questions about my health, relationship status, whether I feel safe at home, my employment status, current and previous medications/alcohol/smoking/drugs, family history of illness etc.

She took some blood, checked my height, weight and blood pressure and dipped urine to check for any infection.

She also gave me loads of things to take away - books on how the baby develops, vitamins, phone numbers in case of any issues.

Because the baby is IUI conceived, apparently I’ll get extra NHS scans and be consultant-led. I had no idea this was a thing (we only did IUI as we’re both female and needed the sperm 🤷🏻‍♀️) as I have no health issues, medications and I’m not high risk.

I have a call with my consultant in about 4 weeks and they’ll explain how things will go. She said they won’t let me go over my due date, which is good I guess!

Horehound · 11/05/2021 15:11

@TakeYourFinalPosition it's the form you can give to your employer to prove your pregnant basically.

I got the prescription exemption form through the post a few days ago which is a bit silly as we don't pay for prescription bin Scotland anyway!

Ooh that sounds great @TreeRoad! I didn't get any books or vitamins, and being consultant-led is a nice bonus there!

Cumspe · 11/05/2021 15:33

@Lillygolightly sorry for your previous loss and congratulations on your rainbow babies. Wishing you all the best for Friday I had spotting in at 6w but they never got to the bottom of it but it’s apparently more common with twins. I wouldn’t worry about the lack of nausea I have also only had the odd wave this week and feeling lucky as others are having a rough ride with it. @Em39ma I really feel for you.

There is something about scans that are exciting and very nerve racking. I had mine yesterday evening so DP could see our beans and they are doing well and have strong hearts. Such a relief yesterday was such a whirl wind as we had an offer accepted on a house in the morning so the excitement of that was a great distraction until the afternoon. Now the work begins!!

Good luck to those waiting for scans

Welcome to all the newbies

TreeRoad · 11/05/2021 15:46

@AnonymousXXIX Aw did you not? Lol. What trust are you under? Maybe it’s different from area to area.

Yeah I suppose consultant-led is never a bad thing eh? Of course I’m grateful for the extra scans too - always nice to have more chances to have a look at the baby. 😍

Horehound · 11/05/2021 15:51

Extra scans are deffo a nice bonus @TreeRoad@tree
road!

I didn't get a book but I did get vitamins. Tbh I didn't read much of the stuff, when you have the baby you just figure it out lol

Great news @Cumspe

TreeRoad · 11/05/2021 16:09

@Horehound Yeah, 100% haha! After all, they don’t come with instructions eh?

Yeah I’m very grateful for the extra scans, it’ll be nice to see their development more closely.

TreeRoad · 11/05/2021 16:11

On another note, it was quite shocking to see how many pregnant women were outside the hospital, baby bump obvious, and smoking. Walking through a plume of smoke to get into the hospital isn’t great, but I felt bad for their little babies exposed to all the junk in those things. 😕

Horehound · 11/05/2021 16:54

Oh, that's really not good at all :(

@Kinsters just to reply to your question about the Facebook group. They closed the group to new members yesterday. Maybe we could just make another one if people have missed out. I know alot of us were waiting for the 12 week scan before joining.

Em39ma · 11/05/2021 17:06

@TreeRoad I had to walk through the same thing just after I had my second miscarriage. I just wanted to slap them silly, I would of given anything to still be pregnant and there they were killing themselves and baby slowly.

TreeRoad · 11/05/2021 17:20

@Em39ma That’s awful, no wonder you wanted to slap them. I tried not to be too judgemental as I know it’d an addiction and so on, but it’s hard not to.

Lillygolightly · 11/05/2021 17:24

So I am or was 7+2 with twins but I think I’m out, just driving on the way back home after picking my girls up from school I had a big gush. Rushed home to check and sure enough it was blood. I’ve prodded my nipples and boobs and they are no longer sore, I haven’t been having any sickness. Given the bleeding and lack of symptoms I’m pretty sure my two little beans have gone. Sad

I have already been in touch with the EPU who have said to keep and eye on the bleeding for now, I’m due in for a scan on Friday anyway and unless things get worse quickly they won’t see me any sooner.

I lost my son at 18 weeks in February and I’m not sure I’m strong enough to cope with losing these babies too.

Sparklestars86 · 11/05/2021 17:35

@Shazza86 @kinsters I was planning on waiting until after my first scan to join the Facebook group too (not got a date through for it yet but hopefully early June) so I'd be in support of a second group being made and the details being shared in due course Smile xx

Shazza86 · 11/05/2021 17:35

@Lillygolightly I'm so sorry that this has happened today, it must be so frightening. I was chatting to my friend the other day and she told me that she bled alot when she was pregnant, was sure it was gone but it wasn't and he's now here safely. I know that won't provide you with any reassurance what so ever, but hopefully it gives you some hope. Sending you a massive hug and positive thoughts xx

Em39ma · 11/05/2021 17:44

@Lillygolightly I’m sorry. Hopefully it isn’t what you think. Rest up and see what happens on Friday.
A few of us have been there, I know it doesn’t help to be told to think positively.

AnonymousXXIX · 11/05/2021 17:45

@Lillygolightly that sounds so scary! And Friday seems really far away. Is it worth persuading them to see you sooner?

Lillygolightly · 11/05/2021 17:47

@Shazza86

Thank you, I really hope that is the case, but somehow I just don’t feel it.

Last Friday when I found out at my scan which I only went in for because I was already bleeding, when the lady told me it was twins both with heartbeats I was shocked. However afterwards I started to worry, I’ve always had pretty strong pregnancy symptoms in my previous pregnancies and I would expect it to be even stronger with twins. Other than tiredness and a bit of boob tenderness (which is now gone) I don’t have any.

I’ve put on a fresh pad so I can keep an eye on the bleeding and I’m chugging some water as I’m going to pee on a stick. I know it won’t give me any conclusive evidence but I’m going to do it all the same I as I have to something other than just wait.

Shazza86 · 11/05/2021 17:52

@Lillygolightly are you able to book an appointment for an early scan tomorrow? Even if private? I think that's what I would do to give me peace if mind xx

Horehound · 11/05/2021 17:53

@Lillygolightly oh my goodness, I'm sorry this is happening. I will keep everything crossed for you.
Can you call epu and tell them you're having sharp pains or something? Just lie so they will see you today/tomorrow

OP posts:
Sparklestars86 · 11/05/2021 18:30

@Lillygolightly sending hugs and best wishes. I'm not sure I can say anything that will help- but agree with others can you not just say whatever you need to in order to be seen sooner than Friday? Take it easy in the meantime. X
