Thank you, I'm currently waiting for a scan now. So we will know in a few minutes hopefully, any suggestions on what questions i can ask?

tuxedocat · 10/05/2021 11:55

@Hopesandsunshines they’ll have a good luck and let you know what they can see. Good luck!

tuxedocat · 10/05/2021 11:55

Look around* even!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 10/05/2021 12:02

@Hopesandsunshines Best of luck. If it's like my first early scan, they didn't really say much, but they did tell me what they could see. The second one on Saturday was much better, but I think that's because the unit was quieter and there was more to see, as baby had a heartbeat then.

Try doing some deep breathing to get your heartrate down. I'm thinking of you x

@climbershell I'm nervous of hugging too. We saw the in-laws yesterday and MIL kept saying how excited she was to hug us, and that she's counting down the days... I don't really want hugs. They're both vaccinated, and I feel bad not wanting them to hug us... they've been looking forward to it, MIL seems to have got a lot more frail over lockdown and she's now talking about moving to somewhere with no stairs, so I think she's feeling it too. But I don't feel massively comfortable with it....

Em39ma · 10/05/2021 12:33

@Hopesandsunshines when my heart rate does that. I go somewhere quiet, close my eyes and just breathe gently.
I’ve been getting heart palpitations this pregnancy I’ve never done that before.

Hopesandsunshines · 10/05/2021 13:10

I saw my baby I'm 6 weeks 6 days, we were able to see the heartbeat, my baby is in the right place so not ectopic, i have a bruise in my womb so apparently I can expect some bleeding, has anyone experienced this before?

Horehound · 10/05/2021 13:36

That's great you saw the heartbeat @Hopesandsunshines. Sorry no experience with the bruised women but maybe someone else will have experienced this. I take it they didn't seem too concerned though?

@Hopesandsunshines yay that's such a relief!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 10/05/2021 14:06

Ahh congratulations @Hopesandsunshines!

I know there have been a few people here with hematomas in the womb and I think that’s similar. As far as I know, the advice is just to take it easy when you can.

Shazza86 · 10/05/2021 14:38

@Hopesandsunshines yay! I'm so pleased for you x

Pineapple87 · 10/05/2021 14:56

Absolutely gutted I missed my telephone call with the midwife today I told them I finish work at 1pm they called at 12.50 :(
I did say that I have to travel home from work also, they didn’t give me a day they just said it would be this week, fingers crossed they call back after the school run I dare not use my phone just in case I miss the call again. Hope your all ok? Xx

AnonymousXXIX · 10/05/2021 15:27

@Pineapple87 uugh I know right! I am like glued to my phone atm in case anyone calls about something. Had a missed call last Friday morning I am still wondering about...

Em39ma · 10/05/2021 15:38

I’ve managed to get my booking appointment for this Friday.
I meant to get an early scan but no one mentions it. We have a private one booked in for Saturday, so if they don’t send me for one not too much of a problem.

climbershell · 10/05/2021 15:42

@TakeYourFinalPosition I'll be happy to hug people that have been vaccine but it's the others especially children that I'm worried about

@Hopesandsunshines that's brilliant news, I hope it's given you a humongous sigh of relief

I still haven't had my second call about my positive toxoplasmosis results. The lab were looking into further but that was Wed!

Minster2012 · 10/05/2021 15:47

@Hopesandsunshines that's excellent news! I have a subchorionic haematoma so a blood clot next to the gestational sac (which is worse than a bruise so please don't worry) and have been told that for me I need to do less, no lifting/twisting and no sex, I had bleeding & pain which is what sent me to the EPU, and haven't had more bleeding since so I'm sure long as you take it easy it's no problem but it's still worrying I know

Em39ma · 10/05/2021 15:54

@Hopesandsunshines I had a haematoma with my dd. Normally just say take it easy for a bit, be careful lifting etc. By my 12 week scan my body had absorbed the blood from it and there was nothing to be seen.

Pineapple87 · 10/05/2021 15:54

I feel bad for fir saying it out loud when so many people are going through hell right now, so I do apologise. Annoyed with myself tbh but I couldn’t take the call at work anyway.

climbershell · 10/05/2021 16:01

Just to say I've read up more on covid in pregnancy, and I am now much less worried. Really, there's no more risk catching covid when pregnant until 28 weeks! So can chill!

Sparklestars86 · 10/05/2021 17:44

@Pineapple87 I'm worried about missing mine too! It's just a telephone call at some point on Thursday morning- I've arranged to work from home so that I can speak freely when they do call but worried will be in another appointment/on a call and miss it. Could you not just call them back? I understand doing telephone calls for COVID but I don't understand not giving proper appointment times. Xx

TreeRoad · 10/05/2021 18:35

Been dipping in and out. Hope everyone is doing well!

I have my booking appointment tomorrow with the midwife. I’ll be 10w exactly so it seems a good time.

Can’t believe how fast it’s going. I have a definite “shape” to my tummy now, not quite a bump but definitely not flat like before. Quite exciting!

Thought the nausea was clearing, it came back with a vengeance tonight.

Pineapple87 · 10/05/2021 18:57

@Sparklestars86, I did call the community midwifes and they said that she will call again when she’s free, but now I don’t know what day, but they are there to answer any questions if I need, X

Shazza86 · 10/05/2021 20:18

@TreeRoad I was literally going through the previous threads to try and find out how you and a few others were doing that were around at the beginning. So pleased it's going well for you and awesome that some shape is appearing! So exciting!
My sickness has been awful since Friday too, I've been determined to keep it down today though 😊

Lillygolightly · 10/05/2021 21:00

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me joining. I am already a mum to 3 DD’s of 16,11 & 3. In February I lost my son at 18 weeks and we are still grieving our loss. Last Friday at a scan I discovered I am pregnant with twins measuring 6+4 & 6+5 both with heartbeats ❤️

Today I’m 7+2 and the anxiety is overwhelming, I’m so terrified I’ll loose these little ones too. I have been having bleeding/spotting since last Wednesday. No reason could be seen for it on the scan, so at the moment I suspect it’s due to cervical ectropian. My lovely bereavement midwife has arranged another scan for me this Friday so that they can investigate further. I’m hoping my little beans will stick and will both be there on Friday. I’m keeping absolutely everything crossed.

Symptom wise my boobs are sore and the tiredness is unreal. I’ve only had the odd wave a nausea which I’m finding really worrying especially since it’s twins. I’ve felt much much worse that this with my singleton pregnancies.

My due date is Christmas Day, though with twins I doubt I’ll get the far. Due date seems impossibly far away, and right now I can’t even imagine it, getting to Friday feels like a long enough slog. I’ve never wanted to fast forward my life so much, I just wish I could wake up at a point when I know it will all be ok.

Em39ma · 10/05/2021 21:28

@Lillygolightly so sorry for your loss. I’ve had losses too, so please don’t feel like your alone.
I’m suffering from severe HG and the anxiety is awful. I’ve got a scan on Saturday and dreading it. Seems so silly because it’s the best feeling ever, but also having been told bad news from them the worse.
Really hope your 2 littles are still good and strong on Friday.
I’m due just after you on the 29th, but mine have to come out early too.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 10/05/2021 21:31

@Pineapple87 @Sparklestars86 Did they not give an idea of time? Just a day? That seems insane!

My booking in appointment is tomorrow morning but I’m sure she said she’d call at 9am. I hope she did... I didn’t interpret it as being fluid so I’ve booked worked called from 11am 🙈

Welcome @Lillygolightly, congratulations on the twins and I’m sorry for your loss. I had spotting at 6w with cervical ectropion too - I’ve had no more since and I’m 8w today, with everything looking okay. The anxiety is real, though! I’ll be thinking of your on Friday, best of luck for your scan.
