Hi anyone taking cyclizine and finding it helpful?
I feel like I'm struggling and don't know what to do with myself. When I was pregnant with my last I was very ill and swore I would never do it again, but the broodiness got too strong 🙈

amysaurus87 · 09/05/2021 18:02

Worried about weight gain as well, I'm 2.5 stone heavier than what I was when I had my little boy, I managed to lose most of the weight I put on when I was pregnant (3.5stone!) But the lockdowns ha e not been kind to me this past year.

My BMI is 33.6 so I know I'll have to have a GTT, but I am very worries about gaining to much weight over this pregnancy. I haven't gained anything yet, but I know I will soon.

Em39ma · 09/05/2021 18:29

I never lost my baby weight either, but at this rate I will be lighter at the end of this pregnancy. Really not sure where to go now. The gp is really trying but nothing seems to be working. Doing everything I can to stay out of hospital.

Firstbornunicorn · 09/05/2021 19:13

@Em39ma what meds have you had? Last time it was Ondansetron that worked for me, but I understand the next step after that was steroids.

Em39ma · 09/05/2021 19:37

Was on cyclizine, now on phenergan. They have said I might able to take both, but at the moment trying one at a time. I’m also getting awful side effects from them. Now have a very upset tummy too.
I unfortunately suffer from allergies too, so they have to be careful with what I have.
I’m so wobbly I can barely walk, I can’t be left on my own with DD as she’s only 19 months and into everything.
Starting to wonder why I’m doing this again. I had HG with DD but no where near this badly.

climbershell · 09/05/2021 20:20

@Em39ma so sorry, hope they can keep working to find something that takes the edge off.

I'm in total tears again today from how sick I feel & I'm totally fed up. I've been in bed since 3pm. Was supposed to meet a friend I've not seen in months earlier but I cancelled as don't feel like trying to have a conversation. So I'm incredibly bored but cba. Hope I'm not entering a depression, kinda feels like it

I'm sorry as I no the way I'm feeling is nothing compared to you

Em39ma · 09/05/2021 21:14

@climbershell it is all relative. There just seems to be no end.
We all have our limits and beginning to think I’m close to mine.
I remember when I had my dd, I had a c section but by the next morning I felt so much better I could of done a jig. I was walking 30 minutes a day only 5 days after having her.
I’m sorry you are having a rough ride to.

Hopesandsunshines · 09/05/2021 22:31

Hope everyone is okay, since yesterday I started feeling like a stabbing pinching pain on my right ovary, but i also feel it sometimes throughout the day on my left side, no bleeding. I'm a bit worried.

AnonymousXXIX · 10/05/2021 07:36

Oddly one of the things that makes me feel sick now is the pregnancy + app? The last few weeks I loved opening it in the morning to see where we're at... but now just the thought of the little alien picture makes me queasy!

AnonymousXXIX · 10/05/2021 07:36

@Hopesandsunshines call your hospital/midwife. Even if it's absolutely nothing, they might get you in for a sneaky early scan, so win-win really.

Hopesandsunshines · 10/05/2021 07:39

Currently waiting for the gyno in turn to see me i have been in the walking centre fingers crossed

Firstbornunicorn · 10/05/2021 07:43

@Em39ma I hope you don’t mind me saying it, but I think they need to consider more aggressive treatment. I still felt rough when taking cyclizine. Ondansetron is honestly more effective. It’s expensive to prescribe, but you need it. If you can, I’d directly ask for it. It’s worth a go.

Shazza86 · 10/05/2021 08:17

Hey everyone, still dipping in and out. The sickness started for me on Friday (at week 10!) Thought I'd got away with it, had nausea before but wasn't actually sick. I was sick 5 times yesterday which compared to come of you is nothing.
Just wanted to come on as a couple of you are struggling and I follow Chessie King on instagram. She is putting together a support network for women experiencing HG. She mentioned it on her stories yesterday and you just message her if you want to be added. Maybe there could be others who could offer some more advice to a few of you. Just a thought if anyone was interested thats really suffering xx

Em39ma · 10/05/2021 08:43

@Firstbornunicorn is that the one that melts under your tongue?
Does it have a flavour to it?

Firstbornunicorn · 10/05/2021 08:56

@Em39ma yes, you can get it in that form. Not much taste except kind of papery!

Hopesandsunshines · 10/05/2021 09:04

I'm very scared had blood taken out and my heart monitored apparently my pressure is really high. My husband can't come in with me I'm terrified

Elizabeth134 · 10/05/2021 09:05

So I have gone from absolutely no symptoms what so ever and worrying that something is wrong to being absolutely floored by nausea and sickness. I felt sort of sea sick and was occasionally sick with my first through to 23 weeks but this is on a another level and I’m only 7 weeks. Literally any and every food smell gets me and it feels like the world is swaying. I’ve not actually contacted my GP about a booking appointment yet but think I might need to go get something to help as I’m useless looking after my 2 year old like this. He might even get his first taste of TV at this rate.

Sorry just needed a little rant there. Not told anyone we are expecting yet. The first trimester is so hard!

Em39ma · 10/05/2021 09:07

@Firstbornunicorn thanks. I did speak to the gp about it. Because there is an increased risk of cleft lip/palette they would like to wait until I’m over 12 weeks.
I’ve taken a second phenegan tablet this morning, hoping it doesn’t just make me fall asleep which is why they don’t like it taken during the day .

AnonymousXXIX · 10/05/2021 09:15

Oh I can't believe they're not letting your husband be with you @Hopesandsunshines! They'll get to the bottom of it soon, I'm sure. Hang in there!

cloud2021 · 10/05/2021 09:15

@Hopesandsunshines so sorry for your situation right now... I know it is difficult but try to relax. Personally my pressure and heart rate is very very affected by my anxiety, so if you are very stressed this will be reflected! Wish you all the best X
Mamatoalittlebear · 10/05/2021 09:16

Hey ladies can I join? 9 weeks pregnant tomorrow and struggling! Feel constantly like death warmed up. Tiredness is off the scale, upset stomach when I eat and constant nausea. Finally broke down this morning in tears just feeling like I'm doing a rubbish job of looking after our 4 year old and work etc is suffering. Hard when no one knows either. I could quite easily spend all day in bed. Praying it eases soon, can't take much more! Xxx

climbershell · 10/05/2021 09:40

I've just read that with the planned nect step restrictions easing next Monday 17th, that brief hugging could be allowed.

That weekend we are visiting my dad and my auntie and uncle and some of my cousins & their young children will be there. We'll be outside and I have no issue hugging anyone who's been vaccinated, but I'm worried of the kids, who I know on both families have been hugging their grandparents for a while now.. Will they expect to not social distance... What do I do? I'll be just under 11 weeks pregnant, no vaccine. Pregnant women were advised to shield... Kids are often asymptomatic

We were planning on telling my dad on the Sat. The others are over Sun. Guess could play it by ear and if they try to get close tell them I'm pregnant and to keep distance.. Tho outside there's minimal risk of transmission, I wasn't worried til I read hugs could be allowed

Hopesandsunshines · 10/05/2021 10:10

Thank you all for you kind comments does anyone know how to lower the heart rate? To be honest I use my Fitbit and since I became pregnant i am always on cardio mode. At the moment is 120 they want it to be 100 before the doctor sees me

cloud2021 · 10/05/2021 11:14

@Hopesandsunshines breathwork should help... I guess for the future I am sure some kind of diet could help to reduce heart rate too... Good luck! Let us know how you get on
