I had to have surgery on my finger in November. I was nil by mouth from 2am and didn't end up having the surgery until 5pm. Even at 4pm, so 14hrs after stopping drinking I was peeing at least every 40 mins lol. Anxiety induced likely, but urine was still flowing!

Elizabeth134 · 08/05/2021 14:06

@DarceyCat so sorry to hear this. You are being so brave about it all. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

rosed1008 · 08/05/2021 14:16

Those worrying about symptoms.... i have days where I feel ok and then I worry something is going wrong. Then the next day I feel absolutely AWFUL and want to stick my head in a fridge.

Pregnancy after loss is f*ing hard, we went for a scan yesterday and everything was fine and I am still worrying! Last pregnancy we had no fetal pole so seeing a little baby was so nice. Errrrrgh get me to 12 weeks.

MushroomQueen · 08/05/2021 14:19

So sorry to hear that @DarceyCat such a crazy sequence of events. Best of luck going forward

Cuddles21 · 08/05/2021 14:55

@DarceyCat I admire your positive outlook on the whole situation and wish you the best for going forward.

I'm 7w 4d today and just have sore boobs (so tender!), tiredness that is worst than usual and I'm funny with food in that I go through phases of bring really hungry and sometimes looking at food puts me off it. I also seem to feel sick rather than hungry sometimes although I know its that I'm hungry which sounds mad!

This is such a random question but is anyone worried about weight gain in the first trimester given that they say you won't gain weight cos of the baby at this point? I think I'm just freaking out a bit cos I'm up a few pounds but figured I need to eat if I'm hungry but yet if I'm not even 25% of the way there then how much will I weigh by the time December comes 😆 Like an apple isn't gonna cut it when you're hungry!

climbershell · 08/05/2021 15:20

Omg!! 1 day further along than I thought. Can see the little legs and arms! Just the one, strong heart beat, all looking good ☺ so weird and overwhelming seeing my little baby!!

@Cuddles21 if you're feeling like crap don't worry about weight gain for now, just eat what you can to get through! My usually healthy diet has gone out the window, but I'll get back on track when feeling better hopefully in a few weeks

I do actually have a cyst they found on left ovary, but it doesn't effect the pregnancy, but might need further investigation

flowersatthecastle · 08/05/2021 15:47

@Cuddles21 I've put on 6lb from when I when I found out (period due) to 8 weeks. Could be unhealthy diet due to nausea, uterus expanding, water retention or a bit of all the above (I'm not medical by the way but this is what I'm thinking). I'm not concerned. My diet will sort itself out once the sickness disappears and once baby arrives it will hopefully drop off due to breastfeeding like it did last time.

flowersatthecastle · 08/05/2021 15:50

... by drop off I mean over a period of six months. I'm not someone that "snaps back" Confused

TakeYourFinalPosition · 08/05/2021 16:01

Congratulations @climbershell!! I was just writing a post to you Grin

My scan was good too - we saw the heartbeat this morning, measuring exactly what I thought, 7+5. We're now discharged from the EPU, and waiting for the 12-week scan. I cried when we saw it!

The midwife was lovely and said that the lack of symptoms might just be linked to me not really getting any period symptoms, and to try not to worry, and just look after myself. The stats seem good from here, so I'm happy. I forgot to ask what the heart rate was, but they didn't mention any concerns, so I'm hoping it's all good.

It feels so real now that we've seen the lovely little thing. I'd convinced myself that something would be wrong, I was awake all night worrying.I

I'm not even feeling upset about our chain breaking down yesterday now.

I'm with you all on eating - I'm hungry a lot more! I couldn't eat before the scan today, I was ravenous afterwards.

climbershell · 08/05/2021 16:09

@TakeYourFinalPosition aww congratulations too!! It's so mad isn't it, just totally nuts, seeing our little tiny baby inside of us! ☺

Cuddles21 · 08/05/2021 16:12

Aww delighted for you guys @climbershell and @TakeYourFinalPosition to see the little ones and know all is going well 😊

Shazza86 · 08/05/2021 16:33

@DarceyCat I'm so so sorry to read your post and cannot imagine what you must be going through. Sending you so much love and positive healing ❤ xxx

AnonymousXXIX · 08/05/2021 16:36

Omg congrats @climbershell!

@Cuddles21 yeah I am really worried about this. I have had to eat more than usual (crackers, toast) to fight the nausea... but I have been able to exercise less (jumping jacks and cardio first thing are not so great for the morning sickness!). I just spent all of lockdown getting really fit :( :( :( Literally took a mirror selfie the other day to document the effort before it all goes out the window lol. I thought I could sail into June or July without showing too much, but with all the crackers and bloating, I dunno, I def won't be myself any more. I thought I had more time to mentally prepare for that...

Cumspe · 08/05/2021 18:04

@DarceyCat I am so sorry to hear your news. Wishing you a speedy recovery and sprinkling baby dust for your rainbow baby.

@climbershell and @TakeYourFinalPosition I am pleased to hear your scans went well. I finally booked one for Monday so DP can see our babies at 9wks but now I am getting a little anxious.

@Cuddles21 not too concerned about weight gain at the minute I guess with two I have accepted that it’s going to be more weight than I anticipated 🤣

IndigoJam · 08/05/2021 19:11

@Cumspe have you/did you have any symptoms that posted to twins? Always curious between the differences early on

Cumspe · 08/05/2021 19:59

@IndigoJam my symptoms have been pretty minimal or I have barely noticed them which I think prompted some of my worry. Enjoying it for as long as it lasts as some are having a really rough ride. I have only had slightly sore nipples, feeling cold and some mild nausea when I turn over in the night but only in the last week or so. I guess it’s the longest my stomach is empty for I seem to have taken well to grazing 🤣. Some days I feel sooo normal I would struggle to believe there is one let alone two in there.

BrodieKD · 09/05/2021 08:18

@DarceyCat sending you a big hug. Best of luck going forward.

@climbershell @TakeYourFinalPosition glad your scans went well. Very exciting!

@Cuddles21 I can't stop worrying about weight gain! I was heavier than I wanted to be when I fell pregnant so I hate to think how much weight I'll gain by the end of the pregnancy. I've only put on a couple of pounds but my face is defs getting rounder.

Has anyone thought about prams? We won't be getting any of the big things until 20+weeks but I like to look. Any suggestions?

climbershell · 09/05/2021 09:21

@BrodieKD so exciting! I'm hoping we'll have a lot of hand me downs, in terms of Moses basket, pram etc.

But we are going to buy some little baby socks and post to my partners parents in France now we've had the scan. Will put a note do not open til X date and video ring before that date & get them to open 😁 might wrap it in a few layers lol.

We're visiting my dad the weekend after next as it was his birthday last week & can finally have a proper family gathering after the 17th! So will wait til then to tell him, and in with his b'day presents wrap some baby socks / booties too 🥰 1 day less than 2 weeks to wait!!

Horehound · 09/05/2021 10:00

@climbershell great scan photo! Congrats!

Lovely news too @TakeYourFinalPosition!

Re. Weight gain I am a little concerned as I am starting out heavier than before pregnancy with my son, I didn't lose all my pregnancy Wright and then lockdown cane along so I think I'm 1.5stone heavier :(

@brodiekd we got our pram from a baby show event in a conference centre. We went at the end of the day and got an amazing deal on the pram system (it was the one used for the expo but totally fine!)
Car seats: we bought a car seat that would so 0-6m and was compatible with our pram so you could lift sleeping baby out of car and onto pram but 6m flew by and I'm not sure it was worth it as we then had to buy a new car seat.
We went for joie360 which is so handy because it spins for easy access to get baby in and out of the car.
One thing I'd say about the pram is to make sure it folds easy/small enough to get into the boot of your car!
