tuxedocat · 30/04/2021 15:36

@climbershell good on you! I keep checking the local scan place to me to see what appointments they have next weekend. I’ll be approx 7 weeks then so hoping I’ll feel good enough to book it next week. It’s a bit step isn’t it!

Hxoxox · 30/04/2021 15:38

@climbershell 🤣🤣 that made me laugh..!! I've not been able to see mine for years! Lol

Horehound · 30/04/2021 15:55

Sorry if discussion of previous miscarriages upset anyone. I'd hoped this was a place we could mention things like that as it is common and if you've had miscarriages in the past it really does affect how you feel during later pregnancies. I can't really talk about how I'm feeling in early pregnancy without mentioning past losses as they're always at the front of my mind when I think about this little one.

DarceyCat sorry your scan was not reassuring. I'm hoping for the best for you. That limbo of not knowing is the worst x

Hxoxox · 30/04/2021 16:07

@Kinsters aww it doesn't upset me it just makes it more realistic that it could absolutely happen to me and I can't get excited. It's definitely good to talk about past experiences and with others about it. I honestly just didn't realise how stressful early pregnancy was before I started trying! X

Mumofboys20122017 · 30/04/2021 16:18

@Kinsters aww this is definitely a place where we can mention everything! All the good and bad ❤ think its just scary reading how often things like that can happen and when youre in the the early stages of pregnancy your mind goes into overdrive! 100% it should be talked about! Everyone should feel comfortable in here talking about what happened with previous pregnancies as well as what's happening with current pregnancies, were all here to be supportive ❤ and if it gets too much at times we can take a time out and come back 😊❤

Kinsters · 30/04/2021 16:32

Early pregnancy is the worst. The tiredness and sickness and you don't even look pregnant so noone is extra nice to you. Plus you have all the worry and stress. I was so much more relaxed once I could feel my daughter kicking away.

Em39ma · 30/04/2021 17:08

I have always been open about my miscarriages.
When I had my first I made a post after it happened put it on Facebook.
My OH really didn’t want me to, he said it was a private matter.
I told him, we should be able to talk about these things openly.
Within a hour I had about 30 comments saying that it had happened to them too. These were people I knew quite well and had know idea.

Iheartbed · 30/04/2021 17:14

Does anyone else’s feet start smelling in pregnancy? Mine do

AnonymousXXIX · 30/04/2021 17:15

Oh @Kinsters I did not mean to be rude! It is really important that you feel you can talk about it.

That is such a lovely thing to do in such a sad time. I bet you brought a loft of comfort to others who had been through the same.

@Kinsters this is totally the place to share, and for those who have had a MC it probably helps to vocalise it all. My earlier post was just to reassure others really. I didn't mean to make anyone feel like they couldn't share their stories. I just know from personal I fixate on the MC stories sometimes.

flowersatthecastle · 30/04/2021 19:16

@Horehound every day this week I've stopped at the shop on my way home from work and eaten a pasty in my car because I couldn't wait for tea Grin

Supamum3 · 30/04/2021 19:21

Ho ladies, haven’t posted much as I can keep up! Hope everyone is doing ok.

I’m at 8+6 and time seems to be going soooo slow!!! Can’t wait get to 12 weeks and hopefully the sickness would have dissolved. I’m still in the thick of feeling all the feelings and it’s hard to focus on anything at the mo. I’m so behind with my studies as I have zero motivation or energy right now 😩😩😩

Em39ma · 30/04/2021 19:53

I’m in agony. Had a tooth infection in March, went on the 19th April to have it sorted, told them I was pregnant and had a history of miscarriage. He said then he couldn’t do a lot for me apart from pack it and seal it.
Apparently they now don’t do major dental work if you are under 12 weeks. He needs to take it out.
It’s back and great a bank holiday weekend.

Scarletpig1 · 30/04/2021 20:46

@Iheartbedi only had smelly feet towards the end of pregnancy last time. My feet were so swollen I could only wear uggs or flip flops. Was so pleased to be able to bin the uggs after the birth 😷 I did get a hairy belly last time - hope that doesn't happen again 😳

Hxoxox · 30/04/2021 21:06

Last week I had BO 😳😳. I never have it. I showered, shaved etc went to bed and woke up stinking done that for 3 or 4 days and totally went away! Very strange!

fawnhound · 30/04/2021 21:46

Hello everyone,
Just found you via the powers of Google! So happy I have :) Just found out this Monday I'm pregnant too, I think 6 weeks today. Have to say I only found out as a huge clump of my hair fell out and I'd contacted the doctor about that! Turns out my body was probably so surprised it went a bit crazy. I've found I've felt so bloated the past weeks and really really tired. I kept making us go to bed at 8 and all my trousers feel tight so I guess it makes more sense now:) Does that insane massive stomach feeling subside? I'm genuinely surprised how my stomach feels! I also found this week telling my close friends the news very strange in some ways, I'm 40 and my partner and I have made it possible to get pregnant for the past few years but no results until now. We hadn't been trying as such as just letting it happen if it happened. But my closest friends are my age or older without children and its caused crisis within each one. I was worried it might so have completely under played my desire to maybe be excited about it. But it's so nice reading all of your comments and I feel like I can say I'm so excited... It was a strange week managing everyone else's emotions and not my own. This is the strangest new journey I've found myself on so far, I keep thinking I'm getting my period as if its over and realise its nothing, keep wanting to buy some cheapy tests so I can keep checking it! Anyway splurge there. So happy to have found this, I've found all of your conversations really comforting, thank you

yankee4953 · 30/04/2021 21:51

Hello everyone! Missed the last thread as it moved so quick!
Had my booking bloods etc today. Never had a blood test in my 24 years and the nurse was so kind haha.
Feeling so anxious and worried something is wrong/ will go wrong.. it's honestly torture everyday, any tips how to shake that feeling?!
Early scan booked for Friday afternoon at 8+1.. praying everything will be fine... hope you're all keeping safe and not feeling to tired/cold/nauseous! X

Pineapple87 · 30/04/2021 21:52

Welcome @fawnhound & congratulations Xx

fawnhound · 30/04/2021 21:58

@Pineapple87 thank youuu xx

twentynineteen · 30/04/2021 22:42

Hello everyone - tentatively saying hello and asking to join! My EDD is 12/12/21, I'm toying with the idea of getting a reassurance scan to make sure everything is ok as I'm fairly symptomless.... still getting positive pregnancy tests (and costing me a small fortune!)

BrodieKD · 01/05/2021 04:57

Is anyone else struggling to sleep through the night? All week I've been up for 2/3 hours between 1am & 6am. I wake up from a crazy dream or needing a pee and then the sickness and hunger creeps in and that keeps me awake for hours. Time to keep a stash of snacks beside the bed I think 😂

Welcome girls - congratulations!

Dreamer30 · 01/05/2021 06:05

@BrodieKD yes! I'm falling asleep about 9/10pm, waking up around 12 and needing to pee, then 4/5am for about half an hour, then just as I start to feel tired my alarm goes off for work 🤣 I've slept rubbish all week since finding out!

flowersatthecastle · 01/05/2021 07:04

@fawnhound welcome & congratulations. I hope your friends are happy for you and that they'll find joy in your LO when they arrive too. Sounds like a difficult situation but look after yourself and your emotions too.

@yankee4953 I'm afraid to say I didn't shake that feeling until my first arrived. It eased a bit with each scan and definitely eased more once you start to feel movements. That was my experience anyway.

@BrodieKD I'm waking with night sweats Confused three nights this past week I've woken with my tshirt soaked through. It's pretty grim!
