Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

Morning ladies, I wonder if you would mind me hopping onto your bus please? I've been a lurker for a while on the TTC buses, but didn't feel it was appropriate to join you there as I was already pregnant (and not sure whether I could keep up 😂). I was originally drawn to them because I remember being on some IVF threads with Minster 2 or 3 years ago and recognised her name. From there I just loved following all of your journeys and laughing (and occasionally crying) along with your chat. I have to say that's its thanks to you ladies that I've discovered MAFS and its literally changed my life - I'm totally hooked 🤣🤣🤣
Anyway, about me, my IVF in 2018 was successful and I have beautiful 22mo b/g twins ❤️ Currently 24+6 weeks with a frozen embie from that same round of IVF so a little ahead of most of you. I also have 3 gorgeous furbabies so having been loving the doggo pics 😊
To the ladies who were suffering with constipation, I highly recommend lactulose. I haven't suffered in this pregnancy so far (I tend to get the opposite problem until third trimester), but with the twins I did get it quite badly from about 25 weeks on and one shot of lactulose per day sorted it out completely. I even thought it tasted quite nice.
Looking forward to hopefully chatting more with you all xxx

Welcome @SamoyedFan123, the more the merrier! Great that you’ve had two successful IVF cycles!

@Sausage1990 lines looking good as always. I used my last Femometer and still faint but better than yesterday and now I am out. Don’t know if I can justify buying another 20! I have a clear blue and digi that I will use tomorrow then I’m going to try and quit cold turkey 😳

@Justanothercyster we won’t be finding out the sex either. Didn’t with DD and it was a lovely little bonus at the end of the pregnancy both for us and our families.

Making lemon drizzle cake today 🤤 what are you all up to this weekend?

Kate105 · 27/03/2021 15:32

@Justanothercyster @Haiyaa We're also going to try and hold out to not find out the sex of the baby! We'll see whether we can resist the temptation... I'm really impatient though so it'll be a miracle if we actually manage it 😂🙈

Sadly my plans are now over for the weekend 🤦🏼‍♀️ went round to my mum's (bubble) and then dropped off a present for my friend's birthday. Can't believe it's her second lockdown birthday! Mad! Just going to stay home tomorrow and do loads of cooking and baking, not massively exciting but satisfying!

Kate105 · 27/03/2021 15:33

Thanks for the tip @SamoyedFan123 I'll try anything at this point!

Justanothercyster · 27/03/2021 17:39

@SamoyedFan123 welcome and congrats on your miracle babies ❤️

@Sausage1990 yeah I always said I'd find out but I think I'd enjoy being surprised now.

@Haiyaa oooh yummy! We've taken the dog for a walk and I had my midwife screening this morning, just chilling now.

@Kate105 haha yes the temptation will be hard to resist!

We're bummed dh can't come to the 12 week scan :/ going to pay for a private one just before so he can experience it first hand with me as I know he wants to be involved in seeing bub actually looking like a baby!

Kirky658 · 27/03/2021 19:07

@samoyedfan123 hello and welcome 😊👋

Hope everyone is doing OK today. Had a bit of a crazy but nice day with DH, went for a dog walk and a takeaway coffee and croissant in the park first thing then got the house cleaned. Also feel like I've won at adulting today as got my towels washed and hung outside and they dried before the rain came 😂 small things.

I avoided having a bath like the plague during the first trimester as I was terrified of having it too hot, tonight and a couple of evenings ago I enjoyed a leisurely soak and it was HEAVEN. Mood swings have been vile this last week.

Decorating the nursery next week, startinf to feel excited now ❤️ and 16 wk check with the midwife on Thurs.

SamoyedFan123 · 27/03/2021 19:24

Thanks for the lovely welcome ladies 😄
@Justanothercyster is your hospital not allowing partners in for scans still?? That's shocking, I thought the government had told them they had to allow partners in to 12 and 20 week scans at least for emotional support?
@kirky658 I'm another who avoids baths in the first trimester! Been enjoying them again these past few weeks! I'm at the MW too this week for 25 week check. Think I'm going to be told off for putting on too much weight😳

Haiyaa · 27/03/2021 19:36

@Justanothercyster I’m pretty sure as @SamoyedFan123 said, they have to allow partners to the routine scans now. Or is it because DH is away/working? Contact PALS if it is the hospital though.

Good work adulting today @Kirky658, does that mean you get a rest tomorrow?

In another one who is avoiding baths even though I love them 😭 probably won’t even be worth having them once I’m into the second trimester as it will be summer 🥵

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 19:40

@Justanothercyster were having a surprise too! Sad that you're OH can't go with you to the scan, the other trusts need to buck their ideas up. Mine was allowed luckily but we still did a scan at 8 weeks incase

@Sausage1990 my sickness didn't kick in until 6+2!

@Kirky658 I finally got the chest of drawers for our room today so got all my rubbish out of the babies room. The mattress for the cot bed arrived and I bought a couple of cot bed sheets from Asda today and popped the sleepy head in there and it looks so cute already 🥺 haven't got much left to do other than get the open wardrobe, change the curtains to a blind and choose what I want to go on the wall! So cute

I had a bath the other day and didn't actually enjoy it much as I normally have them boiling hot but it went so cold so quick because it was only warm to start with 😅

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 19:41

@SamoyedFan123 welcome! So lovely that you remember minster, she's a lovely lady isn't she. Got really close to her actually 🥰🥰 wow twins! Was that 2 embryos ??

SamoyedFan123 · 27/03/2021 19:50

@lucyrp yes she is, I remembered what a big personality she was back in the IVF threads which is what got me started letting on the TTC buses 😊 I doubt she would remember me though, and I had a different username back then too.
Yes the twins were the result of a fresh double embryo transfer. This one is from a single transfer of a frostie. We are having a boy this time by the way, my house is bursting at the seams with all the twin baby stuff and I wanted to know so that I could get rid of half of all the outgrown clothes and free up some space!

SamoyedFan123 · 27/03/2021 19:52

Sorry that should have said lurking*, not letting!

Kirky658 · 27/03/2021 19:53

@haiyaa oh I wish, tomorrow is jet washing the patio day 😅 no rest for the wicked!
@lucyrp omg how cute ❤️
@samoyedfan123 I don't know if my midwife will weight me at my 26 wk appt on Thursday, kinda hoping not 🤣

SamoyedFan123 · 27/03/2021 20:02

@Kirky658 I didn't get weighed at 16 weeks, but think they do weigh and measure bump at 25 weeks. I've put on so much weight - was running 10k 3x per week and doing several spin and circuits classes before I got pregnant, but have done absolutely no exercise since my BFP, initially due to early bleeding which turned out to be a haematoma, that resolved but then I caught covid as was ill for 2 months, then lock down again meant no childcare to train so I'm now fat and unfit 😭
Washing the patio sounds like a boring Sunday for you!

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 20:03

@SamoyedFan123 ooo what was your username then If you don't mind me asking ?? I've been on the bus since may 20 so nearly a full year now but had been ttc since august 19. Oh wow that's lovely! I have literally kept Everutning from DS 6 years ago so would be handy if I had a boy but I'm desperate for W girl!

Having w really active baby tonight but OH is so fed up because he can't feel them yet 🥺

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 20:03

@Kirky658 I wish I was jet washing my patio tomorrow its on my to do list! But back at work 5 days a week 9-5 and working tomorrow 🥺

Kirky658 · 27/03/2021 20:11

@samoyedfan123 haha thank god in that case but have to say I'm curious. Sorry you had to stop running, I love it and have been very fortunate to keep at it, manage about 15 miles a week. I say I'll be washing the patio, DH will likely do most of it and I'll be supervising haha! The new jet wash has been delivered today so a bit excited to use it haha.

@lucyrp it's been on my to do list forever, we need to re point the paving slabs too but not yet! Boo to work, that sucks, hope it goes OK x

SamoyedFan123 · 27/03/2021 20:14

@lucyrp that's lovely that you have a 6 year old DS - is he super excited to be a big brother? I can understand you wanting a girl this time - I feel so lucky to have had b/g twins - absolutely perfect ❤️ I must admit I'm glad to be having another boy though - I think boy babies are more loving and cuddly and less independent! My previous username was CritterTamer.
Anterior placenta here so feeling very little even at 25 weeks - your DH won't have to wait to long though now I'm sure! 🤞

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 20:15

@Kirky658 I have a long list to do in the garden ASAP, involves keeping on top of cutting the grass which I'm really bad at but the weather doesn't help, pressure washing the slabs and the fence and then re painting the fence. Also new shed is arriving very soon so can tidy the house up more by putting all the stuff from under the stairs etc outside and the bbq can finally have somewhere to live and DS bike. So excited about it is that sad 😂xx

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 20:18

@SamoyedFan123 this will be OHs first so he's super excited and yes DS is excited to be a big brother he doesn't mind which it is either brother or sister! I am worried about the girls thing of them not wanting you so much🥺 aww no I'm sure you'll feel bigger movements soon! I'm 20 weeks Monday so I'm guessing he'll have to wait maybe another 4 weeks or so before he can feel them. Xx

Kirky658 · 27/03/2021 20:22

@lucyrp hahaha we've got the same gardening jobs to do, I love that, we got our shed a few weeks back. We have a gorgeous summer house that was here when we moved in which we kept all the crap in but it's so much better now we've got a shed. Painting the fence a job for the hols too! Xx

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 20:26

@Kirky658 since the sun was shining last week it's made me even more keen to get on with it all! Love having a nice tidy garden to sit in in the sun ☀️ the shed we wanted in the right size kept going out of stock and it's finally on the way but don't think it's arriving until 20th april but as soon as it gets here I'll be getting on tidying !xx

Clairey844 · 27/03/2021 20:35

Hi @SamoyedFan123 and welcome, I'm approaching 23weeks so similar to you. Lovely to hear a successful IVF story 🥰
I feel you on the weight gain worry-I am just loving eating crap at the moment 😂

@Justanothercyster we aren't finding out, we didn't with my little girl either 💛
That's such a shame OH can't go to the scan, where we are partners can attend the 12 & 20 week appointments but no others at this point.

@lucyrp you're making me feel really disorganised-we have literally got nothing ready yet 😂😂 actually I have got all my newborn nappies to hand ready to go (cloth) but other than that there is zero baby prep happening here yet 😬
We're doing our bathroom up so that's being ripped out this week then once that's done we're doing my little girl's room up then we can get all the baby stuff down from the loft!

Xx

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 20:38

@Clairey844 I said I wasn't going to buy anything until past 20 weeks but a bargain came up on market place for the nursery furniture I wanted and a friend was able to take us to go get it so had that for a few weeks and that's all I'm really doing. No painting or Anything 😂🙈 I need to get my baby clothes down and check what I actually have xx

DJmum83 · 27/03/2021 20:44

Hi everyone

Another horrible day here I'm so sorry I feel like all I do is moan. I'm so so thankful to be pregnant but I'm so ill, I can't get out of bed poor hubby is looking after the other 3 and it's taking it's toll on him but he would never say.
I'm nauseas all day have to force myself to eat, and then it's the wrong stuff I'm eating. I have sinusitis the pain in my face and head I have literally just cried all day.
Sorry for the moan girls. Hoping to feel better soon.

We are not finding out we found out with our other 3 so want a surprise with the last.

How's everybody else doing?

When did you all start feeling better. Xx
