Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

Oooh @Kirky658 I feel your pain! I’ve had horrific constipation 😳 I’ve learned the hard way (sorry but pun intended) that if I don’t drink 3L of water a day I’m done for!

Sausage1990 · 25/03/2021 22:32

@kirky685 ohh bless you. I get this sometimes it's probably a touch of irritable bowel. Everyone's got a touch of it and pregancy hormones play havoc with out gut as we know. As @DJmum83 said it should have settled by tomorrow hopefully.

@DJmum83 with regards to your weight, please try to be kind to yourself. The 1st trimester is hard freaking work and you can only eat what you're able. Our bodies do what it needs to do to grow a baby. Once the nausea has settled you will hopefully feel like eating more variety, it's at that point you could refocus on your healthier food choices & maybe some exercise again. And it'll make you feel better. Weight gain in pregnancy is inevitable and don't let your nanna or anyone else for that matter make you feel lesser. Your body is currently growing another human, treat her with kindness and compassion.
This is coming to you from a plus size person. I'm currently a size 18-20,i was an 18 pre covid but lockdown, a mini mental meltdown & MC resulted in food not being a huge priority but also alot of comfort. So I'm a stone heavier than where I wanted to be by now. But do you know what, it doesn't make me less capable of pregnancy or motherhood... All I'm trying to focus on is when I'm feeling up to it, I'm making better food choices and I will try to add in some walks now too, and just focus on nourishing my body the best I can. For myself & for my baby, if my weight stays steady or I lose then great, if I gain then fine. What matters is that little bean, so don't let your nan get you down. You are going great!

I suppose what I meant to say in my little monologue above is, you can make healthy food choices & lifestyle choices and your body will still do what it needs to grown your baby.

I do a diabetes antenatal clinic each week and I see women of all shapes and sizes. Some start very slim with great diets who literally just get a huge round bump and don't gian anywhere else, I see other who are similar stature put on quite alot of weight and it goes all over, I see ladies loose weight, I see those who's bump doesn't pop for ages but they gain weight everywhere except the belly, I see ladies lose weight everywhere except the bump and look like stick limbs. And all these ladies are encouraged to eat in a very similar way because they have diabetes in pregnancy, we have to be quite strict because of the blood sugars & complication risks etc... But essentially their body still does what it needs to do. We don't really have a huge amount of control over some aspects of pregnancy.

And for the record nearly all of our babies are born healthy and happy.

Focus on what you can control and then nature will take care of the rest 😘

God I'm feeling so rough and exhausted after parents evening last night, I'm seriously torn about whether to go in and kill myself today or just take it off like a colleague said to. I feel so guilty but just not sure it's worth if feeling like this 😖

@DJmum83 I'm sorry you're feeling rubbish about what your Nan said, mines the same 😖 just ignore it and think, your body is making the perfect snuggle nook for your baby and a little extra here and there can be lost later on x

@Kirky658 I've got that! Not very regular at all and it hurts like hell 💩

Haiyaa · 26/03/2021 06:37

Oh dear @DJmum83 I have a nanny like yours, whenever we visit she makes a point of saying I’m fat 😑 I just ignore her now. Obviously you shouldn’t be losing weight during pregnancy but it can fluctuate with water retention etc especially in the first trimester. Just try to make a few healthy choices where you can and keep as active as you can - obviously morning sickness and fatigue can hamper that a lot but hopefully you will feel a bit better during the second trimester.

How you feeling today @Kirky658? Everything settled down?

Before I went to the loo this morning I had the most horrendous cramp, I literally had to hold on to the sink. Lasted about 10 seconds then went. Has anyone else had this? I can’t work out if it is just because I held my wee overnight or I should be worried.

lucyrp · 26/03/2021 06:40

As for loo habits I have been constipated since the word go but when I do eventually manage to go to the loo it can be the complete opposite so technically I'm constipated and have the runs at the same time. Also the wind is something else, never burped so much in my life 🤨

Clairey844 · 26/03/2021 06:49

Morning all and thanks @Sausage1990 for setting up the side car bus, I think it's a great idea.
Been a busy few days here so only just catching up with the main bus and just seen this one too! Haven't read all of the posts on here yet but wanted to mark my place so I don't lose it.

So..recap. Got my BFP in Nov after about 18m ttc and a MMC in the middle. Am 22w3d and not finding out what we're having. Feeling fine, bump coming on quite significantly 😂 and feeling movements so all positive so far.

Had a massive covid outbreak at school this week-luckily I'm part time so wasn't around a lot of the staff who have tested positive but my year group had to close Monday night and by Wed night the head had to close the whole school early for Easter because we were just so low on staff. It was also my LO's 3rd birthday this week so her 2nd lockdown birthday bless her.

X

Kirky658 · 26/03/2021 07:03

Morning ladies, thanks for the comments last night, feeling a bit less pained this morning, think I'm just backed up 😅 hate being constipated! The wind is something else @lucyrp I feel sorry for my DH 🤣

@djmum83 please try not to worry about your weight. I was so worried about putting weight on in pregnancy it was really stressing me out, now I know it's inevitable and to embrace it. You can lose it after! I'm just trying to stay healthy, exercise regularly and eat plenty of fruit and veg (which doesn't help on the wind front haha). Back in 2017 when DH proposed to me I was a 12-14 and 12 stone. Not big, just felt big, and was too big for my bmi as I'm 5"2. Spent 18 months losing the weight and keeping it off and pre pregnancy was a very comfy size 8 or 10 depending on where I shopped. I hated seeing the scales tick up after about 6 weeks in. Then I just decided sod it!

Kirky658 · 26/03/2021 07:04

And hello @clairey844 👋😊

Thinkingandblinking · 26/03/2021 07:56

Morning...joint the feeling pretty rough club this morning....think it’s just a cold but soo tired and just slept for 8hrs!

On the constipation front...I take 1/2 a laxido sachet every day or I get in a right state...just slicks the lines....😊

Justanothercyster · 26/03/2021 08:00

@Clairey844 oh wow I'm glad you were a bit distanced from everyone, that must have been a shock for everyone!

Clairey844 · 26/03/2021 09:14

Hi @Kirky658 🥰

@Justanothercyster definitely, I mean in a way we have been lucky to go this long without more than the odd case in school-but I teach year 1 so social distancing isn't really possible. Thankfully when I hit 28 weeks I will be moved out of class and doing office/admin duties so with the Easter hols now I've only got 3 weeks of face to face teaching to get through x

Gem176 · 26/03/2021 14:30

@Kirky658 I'm exactly the same as you!! Size and height wise. Used to be a 14 and with my height my bmi was way too high! Then got down to a comfy 8/10 but now ballooning!

@DJmum83 I've been so unhappy with how much weight I've put on already but like Kirky I'm just going to have to go with it and can always lose it after. We've done it before we can do it again! Shame on your nan for saying anything! Never ever mention someone's weight! It's so unnecessary! 💗

Kirky658 · 26/03/2021 14:39

@gem176 twinnies ❤️
@djmum83 you're awesome x

Kate105 · 26/03/2021 18:36

Hello everyone just to say I had my scan today and all looks great! They’ve actually moved my due date forward by 5 days which doesn’t seem biologically possible but still! New DD 28th Sept!

DJmum83 · 26/03/2021 18:40

Thank you so much everyone I have read all your comments today and decided I'm going to embrace it and I have done it before I will get the weight off again.

I have sinusitis and the nausea has been really bad today just feeling so rough and I'm not the best patient so hubby is finding it a struggle with me and our other kids. So I'm just going to have to get my big girl pants on.

Got my date for my scan Monday 19th I'll be 12+5 xx

How's everyone else doing? Xxx

DJmum83 · 26/03/2021 18:41

@Kate105 lovely scan and happy days getting to meet baby a bit sooner.
Boy guess for your little one xx

Kirky658 · 26/03/2021 18:53

@kate105 ah yayyyyyyy! Lovely scan x

Haiyaa · 26/03/2021 22:44

Oooh look at that scan @Kate105! You must be very happy especially as you may get to meet baby a few days earlier! Don’t worry about measuring ahead, it happens all the time.

Thinkingandblinking · 27/03/2021 07:07

@Kate105 congrats on the scan! Cooking nicely x

Kate105 · 27/03/2021 09:03

Thank you all! Feel like I can properly get excited now!

Sausage1990 · 27/03/2021 09:10

Hi ladies sorry I've been quiet. Work had been quite full on, my work colleague has had to take some time off and has now been diagnosed with PTSD following her miscarriage in December & her current pregnancy has been the trigger so she may be off for a little while. Which is more than fine, it's just covering the extra work is a juggle atm. It will settle tho. I just want her to get the help & support she needs.

Lovely scan @kate105! So pleased everything is going so well 😌

@DJmum83 how are you feeling today lovely?

I'm now 16dpo or 4+2 weeks. I have no real nausea yet, maybe a little bit after a meal sometimes but otherwise none. I do have indegestion that likes to happen after food & at night and I don't usually get that outside of pregnancy. It appeared early la's time too. I've been a bit anxious because I don't have symptoms yet but I found out so early this time I know it's normal to not have symptoms yet. I was going to but I did do another frer today at 16dpo to check progress because I also havnt had any cramps the last 2 days and so I was like 😕 anyway there's still progression & showing well on the femometer sticks too so that's a relief.

I've started reading Pregnancy after Loss by Zoe Clarke-Cotes after @hollieL567 recommended it and I'm only a few pages in but already I can see it will help. I didn't think I was too anxious yet and I'm not in general but then maybe I am because I can't go more than 2 days currently without testing... Ladies who are pregnant after loss, did you experience this so early?
I never thought I'd be keen to feel nauseated 24/7 🙈

Sausage1990 · 27/03/2021 09:12

Oh I was going to attach these.... I'm sorry to be THAT girl who's doing all the tests and sharing them all with you. I didn't want to be this girl but turns out anxiety got the best of me...

@Kate105 awww lovely! Congrats! 💕

@DJmum83 ooh exciting you've got a date!

@Sausage1990 I was the same, really wanted the nausea to come and now I just want it gone 😞 I kept doing tests too haha! We need a window in our bellies to keep track of everything.

Is anyone else planning to not find out gender? What with all the planning during ttc we want it to be a surprise 🎊

Sausage1990 · 27/03/2021 09:37

@justanothercyster we definitely need a little window to check everything is ok. But I'm glad I'm not along in needing to do more tests. This is the 1st cheap test I took a photo of so I'm going to just use those now as I've run out of frer lol. I may give in an buy another set but we'll see.

We said we wouldn't find out the gender. Then DH changes his mind last time and said he wanted to. The thing is I don't mind finding out but I don't want other people to know. But then I also love the idea of being told once it's born. I've ahd a few friends keep it a suprise and it was so lush finding out in their birth announcement!
