Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

You're all making me feel very guilty - there's so much in my garden that needs to be done and I'm now a SAHM so no real excuses - I'm just struggling with awful backache and reflux/ nausea now so can't get myself motivated to do it.

@Clairey844 I'm glad it's not just me eating crap! I could barely eat anything for the first 4 weeks of my pregnancy, then it was like a switch flipped and the only thing that helped with the constant nausea was non stop eating! Since the MS went away I've just been starving all the time anyway - lockdown boredom doesn't help! I'm in Wales and we've just been given some freedom to get out and about so going to try to get out a bit more next week.

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 21:10

@DJmum83 it was 12 weeks for me! Had it bad for 6 weeks and then it just disappeared. Although my appetite took another couple of weeks tor return after that x

Kirky658 · 27/03/2021 21:27

@djmum83 really sorry to hear you're still feeling so poorly hun. Hope it passes soon. Xx

We are going to find out what we are having, can't wait, 4 weeks on weds till the 20 week scan! Just hoping and praying everything is OK with our little bub.

So the other day, I was in a 121 call with my boss. I've been covering in a other dept. for 3 months and started back in my own role again last week, feeling like a newbie, and I said 'wow imagine what it will be like after 9 months' and she went 'oh my god is that how long you're taking off, that's such a long time! At least it's not a year' I want to take a year off to spite her now!!!

DJmum83 · 27/03/2021 22:40

Thanks @lucyrp really hope I start to feel more normal at 12 weeks.

@Kirky658 take the year I would just to spite her 😂😂

Welcome @SamoyedFan123

Anybody watching the boxing? My husband loves the boxing xx

SamoyedFan123 · 28/03/2021 07:10

Thanks @DJmum83 I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so awful. I suffer a lot with sinus issues so I know how thoroughly miserable it is, thoroughly on top of morning sickness 😭 Don't worry about eating the right things for now - just eat whatever you are able to and make sure you get your pregnancy vitamins down. I really hope it starts to ease off soon for you and that you have a better day today.

@kirky658 - shocking that she said that! I would also be tempted to take the year now to spite her! You can always keep your options open by putting on your form that your want the year but can still return earlier if you want to.

lucyrp · 28/03/2021 07:58

Was awake at 6:30am this morning, have to be up and at work for 9. Spending all day outside in a catering trailer while it rains and is freezing cold. Yay for me 😒😒 and will miss OH. I've become even more so attached to him since being pregnant and when he leaves for work I get upset 🤣

Kirky658 · 28/03/2021 08:24

@lucyrp hope you remembered to put your clocks forward! We are just having a cuddle with the doggo in bed to celebrate him not getting us up till 8:15 🎉❤️ I know what you mean about missing DH though, when mine went back to school after Xmas I hated it, just about used to it now but feel like a housewife wishing the day away till he's home!

Justanothercyster · 28/03/2021 09:36

@SamoyedFan123 nope, ours are still saying no. It's ridiculous, they allow them into the 20 week scan but not the 12... @Kirky658 is there a guidance document or something?

@DJmum83 sorry you're still feeling so unwell :( I'm feeling sick all the time and just generally hungover type feeling but thankfully can get stuff done with tests in between (unless at work where I just die)

Kate105 · 28/03/2021 09:49

Sorry you're feeling so rotten @DJmum83 everything started easing for me about 12 weeks too. Still not entirely right now though, every so often I get a wave of nausea! But at least I can feel it's on its way out

Kate105 · 28/03/2021 09:50

You lot are making me feel so inadequate about my garden neglect 😂 however that's another job for the Easter holidays!

Haiyaa · 28/03/2021 10:57

@Justanothercyster guidance from NHS England:

www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2020/12/C0961-supporting-pregnant-women-using-maternity-services-during-the-coronavirus-pandemic-14-december-2020.pdf

I would speak to PALS/maternity voices for your local hospital. We are in a much better position in terms of covid compared to when this was published so I can’t see why they would still be enforcing the no partners rules.

Kirky658 · 28/03/2021 10:58

@justanothercyster yeah I remember seeing that the NHS punished guidance for all hospital trusts to advise that they could safely accommodate partners at the scans but it was down to each individual Trust to decide. I mean with ours we are lucky and 12 and 20 week scans partners can attend; but the letter says if I have to leave the room to get the baby in a better position for scanning then my DH can't re enter the room with me! Madness.

Florence13 · 28/03/2021 11:35

Hey ladies,

Could I tentatively jump on here in the hopes that I have a sticky bean on board. Was really excited when I saw this title and realised it was you girlies. The nausea has also hit me although only vomited once so far.

Haiyaa · 28/03/2021 12:00

YASSSSSSSS 👏 welcome @Florence13 good to have you on board! Maybe we should pm passengers when they get their BFP’s so they know where we are?

I’m still tentative like you, did my digital and still showing 1-2 weeks. I shouldn’t be bothered but instead of going cold turkey I have now ordered Femometer strips and two more digitals. I think I will need an early scan to put my mind at ease.

Haiyaa · 28/03/2021 12:02

It’s so nice that we already “know” each other, makes it much easier especially if we are worried or things aren’t going so well. 😘

Florence13 · 28/03/2021 12:40

@Haiyaa thank you it is lovely to already know you. I’m definitely going to have an early scan but don’t think I’m going to take any more tests. I’ve done two.

SamoyedFan123 · 28/03/2021 12:47

@florence13 hi there, you won't know me because I was a lurker on the TTC buses (due to already being pregnant) so I've hopped onto this one. I just wanted to say huge congratulations on your BFP 😄

Florence13 · 28/03/2021 13:25

@SamoyedFan123 aww thank you and glad you have managed to join in over here ☺️

lucyrp · 28/03/2021 13:46

@Kirky658 thankfully my phone did it for me and so did the tv which were the things I were relying on for time this morning ! That's what I have felt like. I expect now I'm back at work more it won't be as bad but I have got rather attached 🤣 so weird about the re entering! I had to go out at the 12 week to drink loads and jiggle around and OH was allowed back in with me. We were in there an hour or more!

@Florence13 yaaay! 🥰 welcome

Kirky658 · 28/03/2021 13:57

@florence13 yayyyy hello lovely!!! Xxx ❤️🎉

Florence13 · 28/03/2021 13:59

@lucyrp @Kirky658 aww thank you 🥰 cannot tell you how happy I am to be here but desperately trying to keep my nerves at bay.

Justanothercyster · 28/03/2021 15:40

@Haiyaa thank you, I have my phone apt with midwife in a week or so so will discuss and then get onto PALS. I would accept it but I just don't understand why they can come to the 20 week and not the 12 which is when you need most support 🤷🏼‍♀️ beyond me!

@Florence13 yay glad to see you!

Florence13 · 28/03/2021 16:14

@Justanothercyster thanks hun and that is a very odd way to do it, I don’t understand why they would let partners at 20 week and not 12 week that just seems crazy. I’ll have to check my local hospital.

Kate105 · 28/03/2021 19:45

It definitely seems off @Justanothercyster so worth asking. I was able to have my OH in with me for my 12 week scan, as well as the 7 week scan I had to have because of my previous ectopic. Mind you, it made a nice change from last year when I did have the ectopic- I had to have all of those appointments solo!

Welcome and congratulations @Florence13 you won't know me either- I'm another longtime lurker from the other board! Was actually about to join in over there when I got my BFP. I then obviously didn't join because it would have been massively insensitive, so was so glad that this other group popped up alongside!

Kirky658 · 28/03/2021 20:09

Hope everyone is doing well! Managed to get the jet washing done as planned today so that's a job ticked off the list prior to Easter 😊

We've just been looking at prams, getting excited about shopping now! Very fortunate that my in laws are getting us the pram and my parents the cot so that's some bit expenses saved!!
