Made a new thread for us as we were coming to the end of the previous one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Is anybody else like me and constantly thinking they're about to go into labour at the slightest pain or odd bowel movement? Is it a first time mum thing?!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 22/03/2021 15:53

100% @DaphneBridgerton! Especially for first time mums. I was so on edge from about 37 wks. Fortunately she showed up at 39. Second time around I'm less so, but still have trouble figuring out what is back ache/normal aches and pains and what is a potential labour pain, as with my first my waters went as the first sign, so there was little room for doubt that labour had started!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 22/03/2021 16:06

Argh MiL really annoying me today. For the past few weeks every time she's spoken to me, DH or DD she's asked when my ELCS date is. The fact is we don't know yet. I keep telling her this. We will get a date in about ten days time. AIBU for not wanting to tell her the exact date, once we know? We are not reliant on her for childcare or anything like that, and haven't actually seen her since December (covid) so I really can't think why she would need to know. I'd rather just share the happy news when baby arrives rather than be bombarded on the day with messages and calls. She's got history for telling all and sundry our business; told people I was pregnant before DH and I announced, told family I was having an ELCS despite it being no one's business etc. Am I being hormonally unreasonable or is it ok to just keep this to ourselves? We will have to tell my parents as they're already in our childcare bubble just incase DD needs picking up from preschool or anything like that if DH can't get away from the hospital on time. We didn't choose them over my in-laws, there is no favouritism; my parents offered to be on stand by in an emergency whereas the in-laws don't want to see us until they have their second covid jab, which is fair enough.

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 22/03/2021 16:09

We also will have my sister on standby in case my parents are ill or something else happens meaning they can't help in an emergency. Again, my sister has offered and has fortunately had both her jabs, so the covid risk to her is pretty low (from our daughter, being at preschool).

Inkpaperstars · 22/03/2021 17:21

@DaphneBridgerton yes, I am the same, especially as I am nervous because really behind with getting things ready!

@1sttimemumtobe2021 agree with the others about keeping midwives updated on any poss preeclampsia symptoms. Hopefully not of course but best let them decide if they want to do any checks on you.

Thanks for the new thread @drumst1ck !

bunhead34 · 22/03/2021 20:42

@TheViewOutsideMyWindow I wouldn't tell
Her the date either!
I'm not planning on telling anyone when I go into labour other than my sister!

BaaHumbugg · 22/03/2021 22:00

Yes tell who you want it's your call at the end of the day!

JTB123 · 22/03/2021 22:11

Can't wait for this to be over so I can sleep on my back again 😩😩😩🤣

LuckygoLucy · 22/03/2021 23:02

Gah 37 ish weeks and really starting to hate this pregnancy, have had constant back pain, nausea and butt pain like the pressure in my cervix/pelvic area but on my butt every night I'm waking up in so much pain from braxton hicks that at one point generally thought it was time (pain radiating back to front) but nope just fun ol hicks. Anyone else hating last few weeks? On a plus less than a week till growth scan to get official confirmation on c section date, will it be 12th of April or sooner? Rant over lol xx

reimah · 23/03/2021 06:52

Hi everyone,

Was told baby had a drop in velocity growth, and they want to induce me or they’ve allowed me to wait a week.
I’m not sure what to do, I’m confused.
Any advice?

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 23/03/2021 07:42

@reimah the best thing to do would be to call the midwife/Dr/consultant and ask for the pros and cons of each option, then you can make an informed decision.

BaaHumbugg · 23/03/2021 09:00

@reimah agree speak to your midwife and then make your decision, I was induced after my waters went as I did not progress enough and it wasn't so bad.

@JTB123 I agree I miss sleeping on my back so much!

blodyn91 · 23/03/2021 12:03

So funny how these threads progress....we are all in full on complaining mode atm 🤣 I think I've been experiencing lightning crotch this morning, walked to the bottom field and the journey back to the house was a mission! Now sat on the sofa and can hear my work phone pinging ar me 🙈

MIL might get upset if you don't tell? Mine would, so I would tell mine to avoid any future conflict which I can't be bothered with. But I would definitely tell her not to tell others and that you will tell/announce the birth when ready and ask her not to message on the day. Also you could just tell her the day before. Obviously your decision and your MIL might be a lot more chilled than mine, who annoys the hell out of me, but Im trying my best to be civilised 💆🏼‍♀️

DaphneBridgerton · 23/03/2021 12:12

@reimah Sorry I have no advice except to ask what would happen if you did nothing... What are their concerns exactly and what would the midwife consultant do if this were their pregnancy/partner's pregnancy?

tinatsarina · 23/03/2021 12:27

So 38 weeks today, baby seems ok estimated at 7lbs have to go back two weeks Wednesday to see about possible induction if I haven't went myself already. I'm 50/50 as this has been my best pregnancy in terms of my health so I feel like I could hang on longer but I also think induction can let me get childcare sorted.

Sexnotgender · 23/03/2021 12:33

I’ve dipped in and out of these threads! Hope you don’t mind me popping by again. I’m 37+3 and had my last growth scan this morning. All looking good!

Bojingle · 23/03/2021 22:57

Is anyone else getting period type cramps? I get them mainly in the evening and I'm hoping that it means my body is preparing. It's probably not that at all but I'm thinking positively. My induction is days away!

BaaHumbugg · 23/03/2021 23:01

@Bojingle when is your induction? Hopefully your body is getting ready!

Bojingle · 23/03/2021 23:12

@BaaHumbugg Friday, its just under 38 weeks and I'm worried its too early so I'm looking for any signs. I didn't get cramps last time around so I hope something is happening

LuckygoLucy · 24/03/2021 10:34

Hello, how is everyone doing today? What's everyone's due date? X

BabyB22021 · 24/03/2021 11:31

Official due date is 12th April but at my 20 week scan they said it was more likely 7th but they couldn't change it for some reason, now been booked in for elective section for 6th so I'll actually be almost 40weeks if I last til then!

Wavesandsmilesencore · 24/03/2021 11:34

My due date is 13 April, but originally was 7 April also. Now my consultant suspects 7 April was correct as the head diameter from scans is measuring on 90th centile (ouch)! So possibly looking at induction around then if no arrival before!

Bojingle · 24/03/2021 11:36

I'm due 12th April but baby will definitely be here before then.

I feel a bit under the weather today, a bit nauseous. I think it might be anxiety about Friday

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 24/03/2021 11:49

Looking forward to an update soonish from you @Bojingle, the induction sounds nerve wracking but it's one step closer to meeting the little one.

My due date is 11th April. I've been in hospital a few times this week after having cramps/sickness/headaches. The other times were for a growth scan based on a referral and to also check my movements.

On the advice of this forum after feeling a bit off, I got in touch with my midwife and she called me telling me to go in to hospital for baby MOT. They are ruling out pre eclampsia but my blood pressure is fine so I'm optimistic it's not that. They have also booked me in for a growth scan (second one) on 7th April as the baby was measuring small and the growth has plateaued. Let's see if I make it to the 7th!

tinatsarina · 24/03/2021 11:50

I'm due 6th April but if I get to 7th they will induce me
