Made a new thread for us as we were coming to the end of the previous one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Inkpaperstars I always think there's something creepy about deserted corridors in hospitals. Glad they're keeping a close eye on you for the movements.

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 27/03/2021 19:32

Congratulations @Ickli! Glad baby is doing well, hope you are too and that you get home soon.

Please do go in for reduced movements, every kick matters.

Amazing weight gain @Flappityflippers1!

Flappityflippers1 · 27/03/2021 19:42

Ahh keep us updated @Inkpaperstars, how exciting that she could be here so soon!

If it’s safer to keep her in they will, but they won’t let her be at risk, if she’s safer out they’ll crack on with the section ❤️

BaaHumbugg · 27/03/2021 21:05

@inkpaperstars I love driving through London at night when it's quiet, I think as it's always so busy normally! Good luck you are so close now!

Reduced movements were a false alarm on my part she is back to partying away in there.

tinatsarina · 28/03/2021 08:49

@BaaHumbugg that's good that she's partying away

I'm getting nervous now as I'm 38+5 and could go into labour at any point but my partner has woke up this morning with a cold, stuffy nose, feeling warm generally not feeling great and now I have to potentially consider another birth partner if he isn't allowed in.

clb8921 · 28/03/2021 09:07

Congratulations @Ickli! Glad to hear the little one is doing so well, hopefully you’ll be all home together soon

rainbow95 · 28/03/2021 14:15

Congratulations @Ickli 💙

drumst1ck · 28/03/2021 15:38

Bit of tmi here (sorry) but is anyone else finding that they are getting Braxton Hicks that make them need to poop afterwards? I've been getting some strong ones today and keep needing to go afterwards!

OP posts:
BaaHumbugg · 28/03/2021 15:50

@drumst1ck no I am having the opposite problem haha! Dioahrrea was the first sign of labor starting with my first.

Another TMI my pelvic floor is really suffering today, I guess it's everything weighing down! I've been trying to do some excersises but it's probably too little too late!

tinatsarina · 28/03/2021 16:13

@drumst1ck I felt that last night and thought it might be my body clearing out before labour but then couldn't got when I got to the toilet lol got some cramps today but nothing intense enough to make me think it's labour

drumst1ck · 28/03/2021 16:19

I'd forgotten how confusing the last few weeks are with all the 'signs'. 38 weeks today and feel like I have at least another week to go, my first was one day overdue.

OP posts:
Mumto3andexpectingagain · 28/03/2021 17:06

I'm not feeling ANYTHING! I have pelvic girdle pain and that kills and baby is moving around fine but nothing as far as labour prep. I'm 37+2 today so it still feels like a long way but I dont fancy being induced so hoping baby appears sometime between 38 and 39 weeks

LuckygoLucy · 28/03/2021 19:52

Congratulations @Ickli on bubba, just having a catch up scroll and saw your news!
Sounds like a few people are getting some signs ill be keeping my fingers crossed for you all, I keep over thinking every little twinge and motion like randomly throwing up yesterday, haven't been sick at all this pregnancy! but I'm only 37+4 and need to hold out for that c section although part of me is like if I spontaneously go I can still technically have a relatively calm section. Hence why I thibk I'm over thinking as if I do go I need to be sure and get to hospital quick lol.
@drumst1ck no needing to poop after but lots of pressure there during a 'pain' almost like a need to fart and that will make it all better. Also hicks are a B right!
@BaaHumbugg feel ya pelvic pressure pain , had scan today and baby's head is way down so it's almost constant now. I really should have paid more attention to the exercises 😔.
@Mumto3andexpectingagain, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Xx

Omg exactly the same for me! And lower back pain, and nausea has come back.

Inkpaperstars · 29/03/2021 11:52

Congratulations @Ickli Flowers

So glad your little one is doing well and hope you get to go home soon x

I am on the antenatal ward again, and probably about to go home again!

Hope everyone is doing ok.

tinatsarina · 29/03/2021 11:55

@Inkpaperstars how's movements today?

I had pains last night lasting a minute coming every three minutes but they weren't intense enough to be real contractions, when I went to bed they eased off. Getting some niggly pains today's but no pattern or change in intensity. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow

Inkpaperstars · 29/03/2021 12:08

Sounds like something might be limbering up for you @tinatsarina, so hard to tell!

Movements are ok right now, thank you for asking. Not to say I won’t be stressing later, but I hope not. Probably going home if ctg later normal.

I am so hungry I am actually looking forward to the hospital lunch, that’s what it’s come to! Might change my mind when I see it.

LittleAppleFan2021 · 29/03/2021 12:50

Hi All, I've read through all the posts and it's so lovely to hear other people's experiences! I'm a FTM due on the 18th...so I'm currently 37+1 today! Been suffering with really bad sleep but now I've started Mat Leave this week I'm feeling a bit better as I've been able to have a lie in and a few snoozes to catch up!
I'm not sure if I've had braxton hicks but I have noticed dull period ache some evenings? I'm eating dates to as advised by my midwife, never had them before and they're gorgeous!!! Xx

JTB123 · 29/03/2021 12:54

@Inkpaperstars Ergh hospital food gives me shivers just thinking about it 😂😂

JTB123 · 29/03/2021 12:57

@LittleAppleFan2021

ooo not long then! I'm due on Sunday with my 1st and haven't felt a single cramp/Braxton Hicks at all!! - most of the time I think my odd pains are constipation 😂😂

Got someone coming to fit me a new window tomorrow, then as far as I'm concerned baby can come any time from Wednesday onwards please 🤞🏼🙌🏻😂

Funny I feel so energetic, just want to get things washed and dried etc! Also dying to take a next parcel back to the shops but the thought of my waters breaking in public is just too much for my brain to handle 😂 xx

LittleAppleFan2021 · 29/03/2021 13:20

@JTB123 oooh sounds like you've got the nesting phase! I have the urge to get things ready but nowhere near enough energy! I've had such a crappy pregnancy with one thing and another for the months and I've had to give up staying on top of things over the last couple of weeks because I've just been super wiped out. Luckily my DH has been amazing and really looked after me, but I feel so guilty! I'm saying too him that whenever he's next ill or unwell or even in old age I'll be returning the favour for sure! I'm hoping once I'm back up on my sleep I'll get round to nesting etc... Still yet to pack hospital bags Blush!!! Xx

JTB123 · 29/03/2021 13:56

@LittleAppleFan2021 oh that's nice that he's helping so much! ❤️
Haha I've had mine packed for a few weeks now!! And just finished the snack bag! 😂

I've not opened it since though as I know a lot of people back and then unpack and repack and I can't be dealing with that!
It's sealed and it's ain't being opened 🙌🏻😂
Xx

LittleAppleFan2021 · 29/03/2021 17:01

Oh he's amazing @JTB123 I'm building up a humongous debt of kindness to him though haha!

Ooooh the snack bag... Maybe I'll pack that one first WinkGrin... I don't know why I'm not packing to be honest. But I've always hated packing, done too much travelling (unfortunately not international travel though) to enjoy it any more! I have washed all the baby clothes though...
At times I've wished there was a service where you could order a bulk baby box of everything like a starter box all pre packed! That'd be the dream haha! Probably ludicrously expensive though for average me! Xx

MsHedgehog · 30/03/2021 09:24

And my baby has been born!!

I was due to have an elective c section this week but after a couple of weeks of going in and out of hospital for various reasons, hence my silence on the previous thread, my waters broke on Wednesday last week and they took him out that day, at 38 weeks! Luckily I didn’t experience any contractions but it was nice to have somewhat of a more normal birth experience than the strictly clinical pre planned op - I woke up in a pool of water and rushed to the hospital, and then was leaking all morning until they took him out!

Reluctant to post a picture online but he is absolutely gorgeous. He is healthy, almost 9 pounds and I feel extremely blessed!

They kept me in for several nights as there were issues with feeding him and then I developed an infection but we’re now home where breastfeeding is certainly proving to be a challenge. Sore nipples are truly a thing!

LuckygoLucy · 30/03/2021 09:45

Congratulations @MsHedgehog, glad you are home and good luck with the feeding and sore nipples lol xx
