Great news @LuckygoLucy, hope it all goes well for you

I've felt a bit rubbish today, I've had nothing to show me labour might be on it's way and it's made me a bit blue today. I'br had no energy to 'nest' the last 2 days and its thrown me. Feels like forever away

Cookie9093 · 04/04/2021 21:35

@Mumto3andexpectingagain I know that feeling, I'm 38 +2 and have had nothing. I've never felt braxton hicks tightenings, only period cramps so have no idea what I'm looking out for! No nesting or anything! Feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever at this rate! Hope things start moving for you soon! Smile

Inkpaperstars · 04/04/2021 23:53

Thank you everyone for the messages x

Hope all gets sorted for Tues @LuckygoLucy. My tips for hospital stay pre baby are water spray, like avene, it really helps with the heat, ear plugs, eye mask, something to tie all hair up (heat again!), a pillow, snacks, drinks if they have a patient fridge, body wipes, coolest nightie/ dressing gown you have, hand cream/lip balm and maybe your own hand soap. I decanted a little bit of really gentle hand soap into a pocket size bottle because the hospital one is really harsh!

Our little boy arrived yesterday late afternoon at 37+5, weighting 6lb 1oz. He is perfect, I can’t stop looking at him 🥰

Not quite the birth I expected. Ended in a very rushed emergency c-section after his heart rate kept dipping, despite no contractions having started. Went on the syntocinon drip for all of 24 minutes before they decided to get him out ASAP. Main thing is he is here safely and my section was very straightforward. He’s a bit mucousy and despite feeding well last night, is not interested in the slightest now. But hopefully we’ll get through this blip!

LittleAppleFan2021 · 05/04/2021 04:19

@clb8921 huge congratulations lovely! GrinFlowersBear So happy for you and glad it all went well in the end! Very jealous you're holding yours haha! Im 38wks today and suffering with insomnia 😆 Xx

Flappityflippers1 · 05/04/2021 06:52

Congratulations @clb8921!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 05/04/2021 09:56

Congratulations @clb8921!

Good luck for tomorrow @LuckygoLucy.

37 weeks here and zero signs! I'm getting my ELCS date on Friday and have one more week of work though, so feeling positive. 3yo was up 3x in the night with bad dreams so feeling a bit tired today, although DH went into her every time which was lovely. Something they've both got to get used to for when baby's here. Pregnancy insomnia is getting to me too now, I find it so hard to get back to sleep once I'm woken.

LuckygoLucy · 05/04/2021 10:06

Congratulations Flowers @clb8921 great news!
Thank you @TheViewOutsideMyWindow I'm keeping my fingers crossed since the pains ramped up last night and I'm 99% sure my plug started to come away TMI straw yellowish jelly like stuff. Good luck for Friday hopefully won't keep you waiting too long.
Thanks @Inkpaperstars luckily had most of that packed for post op, so was just a case of moving some bits about and squeezing it the diet coke! How's baby life?
Hi @Mumto3andexpectingagain if it helps the day before this all kicked off, I literally could not be assed to do anything I literally spent the while day in bed resting even tho I knew I had chores to do and wanted to do I had no inclination to actually do them so that 'could' be a sign in itself xxx

BaaHumbugg · 05/04/2021 11:28

@clb8921 congratulations! Hope you are recovering well!

I am sleeping so well now but this is worrying me more as it's going to be more of a shock when she arrives! Maybe it's my body's way of getting the rest in while I still can!

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

tinatsarina · 05/04/2021 16:10

So again 39+6 now and still no sign of baby. Braxton Hicks of course some of which are abit intense but the ease off after a while so I'm guessing it's the start but it's just very slow going. Couldn't get comfortable last night as no matter what side I lay on I felt I had to turn again soon after

bunhead34 · 05/04/2021 16:22

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow.
Have been getting increasing pain and a couple of pains that I thought could be contractions but literally only had one of each then they stopped and went back to general achey pain in my back period type
Pain in my tummy.

Last night i felt a sort of radiating pain from
My sides around to the front of my belly
That got a bit worse and a bit worse then stopped.
And earlier I had the same thing from very low down up the middle of my belly 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also no nesting here, the house is a tip
I could really use it 😂

I have the midwife tomorrow, does
Anyone know if they generally
Check the cervix or anything at 39 weeks?

tinatsarina · 05/04/2021 17:12

@bunhead34 you could ask for her to check while your there. Mine would usually offer a sweep at this point. I'm getting one on Wednesday so hopefully it works and baby will be here by this weekend.

Catlady21 · 05/04/2021 17:18

I've lost my plug today and I'm generally feeling quite achey so hoping it's not too much longer.

Congrats on all the new arrivals!

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 05/04/2021 18:26

Congratulations @clb8921 and well done! Xx

LuckyFlash · 05/04/2021 19:08

Congrats on the arrivals!

I’m also feeling really crap today. Tired and down and no energy to tidy up. I’m 39+1 and the baby dropped and I lost my plug over the weekend so really hoping it means things are progressing but no signs of contractions at all. I don’t even think I’ve had any BH’s (my belly feels tight almost all the time). Worried I won’t have the energy if I go into labour!

My midwife has offered me a sweep at my appointment this week (I’ll be 39+4) and I imagine that’s fairly routine for those going to see their MW in 39th week.

amylee1817 · 05/04/2021 20:44

Hi guys.

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. My midwife has been telling me for weeks that she recons baby is going to be early due to BH's and the fact that he has been fully engaged for weeks. But I wish she hadn't have told me as everyday I'm expecting him to come!

Felt really emotional today, I cried for hours because my fiancé asked if he could give my Easter egg to his sister Easter Sad

I really want to go into labour soon, I'm seriously fed up! Anyone else feeling like this x

JTB123 · 05/04/2021 22:56

Congrats @clb8921 ❤️❤️❤️

40+2 here, so over it!
First sweep on Thursday 🤞🏼

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 06/04/2021 01:17

Ugh pregnancy insomnia is the worst! Awake with backache, tummy ache, all over ache! And only 37 weeks. I can't wait to have this baby out of me!!

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 06/04/2021 05:16

@amylee1817 hang on in there, I know these last few weeks can take their toll but you're in good company and once baby arrives you'll forget all this. Just keep in mind that squishy pink face you'll be meeting soon

I'm 38+4 today, my midwife is doing a sweep for me on Thursday so I'm hoping that will start me off. Although I have had some slight twinges yesterday so naturally my hopes are going up!

drumst1ck · 06/04/2021 08:12

39+2 now, slight twinges every evening that disappear as soon as I go to bed. Very over pregnancy here as well! I just hate the unknown and waking up every morning with no baby again is getting frustrating!

Has anyone experienced nausea and sickness being a sign of labour? A week or so ago I was sick due to cramps but went to get checked in at the hospital and all fine.

Yesterday I felt awful (I think I overdid it delivering eggs and a garden visit the day before) but put it down to being a sign to slow down. Still not much better today and TMI but have puked up my brekkie this morning. Is this a clear out?

drumst1ck · 06/04/2021 08:54

@1sttimemumtobe2021 I've had it a bit when I've overdone it as well. Drink plenty and take it as a sign to put your feet up for a while! Hope it eases up for you

OP posts:
BaaHumbugg · 06/04/2021 09:00

@1sttimemumtobe2021 I had sickness and upset stomach the day before my first labour started. Don't want to get your hopes up though!

No signs of anything from me, think it's still too early. I'll be the last one on this thread talking to myself I think 😂

tinatsarina · 06/04/2021 09:53

So my due date is today and I've got backache as usual. Getting a sweep at the hospital tomorrow so fingers crossed that will start labour if it doesn't happen today

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 06/04/2021 10:07

@drumst1ck and @BaaHumbugg - thanks. Just taking it easy today. I can't laze on the sofa with a newborn so should make the most of it. The minute of response shows that it could mean something or nothing - all of these signs we look out for!

@tinatsarina happy due date. Hopefully not long now!
