Pregnant after loss thread- November 2021

Hi all, I’m currently 4 weeks pregnant after 4 previous miscarriages. I don’t really have any symptoms other than boobs a bit sore and nipples sensitive. I’m on clexane injections, cyclogest and aspirin as all the tests they’ve run have found nothing wrong. Is anyone else due in November after loss? I thought it would be a nice idea to have a thread where we can all chat and share our journeys x
@Fayezp1210 I admire your restraint! I just got the appointment letter through for my "12" week scan when I'll be 13w2d - 30 days to fret through so think I'll book another scan 🙈

Also rest of the "gang", I yesterday found you can hire your own ultrasound machine - thankfully it's expensive enough to discourage this new level of crazy 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my goodness can you imagine us all we'd be scanning ourselves every minute of the day! Surely this shouldn't be allowed unless qualified to use them!!?? Absolute madness and very glad I wouldn't be able to afford it😂

mia2201 · 07/04/2021 21:03

Hey Ladies, it all stopped thankfully and I'm feeling more optimistic now. Can't wait til Friday, I'll update you for sure. With my mmc i had no spotting or pain at all so at least seeing a bit of spotting didn't trigger major flashbacks or anything. It's just worrying.... Thank you for your kind words and support.

Quite tempted to ask husband whether he'd consider hiring the machine until 12 weeks and see his reaction 🤣🤣🤣 he's seen it all so i bet he would panic in his head thinking how the hell do i talk her out of this idea.....

Geyser33 · 08/04/2021 09:39

So glad has stopped that's a relief xx

I just got my bloods back and hcg still rising but only by 60% in 7 days same as last week. Do you think I need to be concerned it's slowed down so much the last 2 weeks not? I am 7 weeks 5 days xxx

Geyser33 · 08/04/2021 10:48

Sorry I'm obsessing. Do you think I should look at average hcg increase rate over last 28 days or is it current rate that they will focus on? I was tripling initially now taking 7 days to double so when I worked out my average rate of increase I have doubled every 3-4 days 😩

mia2201 · 08/04/2021 10:59

Hi Geyser, I've never made myself familiarized with the hcg levels and what it all means but i didn't want to read and run. Did you speak to the gp to see what they think? Or call or email someone from miscarriage association or tommys- there's volunteering nurses and midwives who can help you to interpret the results hopefully! They will be more qualified than any of our wonderful tribe members, good luck! Xxx

Thanks mia sorry I know am asking ridiculous questions my GP isn't in again until next week. I have my scan on Wednesday so will try and turn off google I think and just stop obsessing
mia2201 · 08/04/2021 11:12

Oh the google! All i do is googling and reading posts about everything on here. It's so hard to stay away. I emailed miscarriage association for advice once and they got back to me the same day! They are really there for us and our questions :) good luck, thinking of you, it's so not easy xxx

Geyser33 · 08/04/2021 11:19

Thanks I have just emailed Tommy's and will try the miscarriage association now.

Really hope the waiting isn't killing anyone else too much XX

Tweaker · 08/04/2021 12:15

Good luck @Geyser33 I'm rooting for you. Just got to get through to Wednesday. I wish I could advise but I have no idea about hcg levels. At least they're increasing though isn't that the main thing?
I dropped my midwife appointment request form off at my surgery yesterday. Just going for them to hopefully call me soon. I'm 6+3 today, very early days.

Tweaker · 08/04/2021 12:16

@Geyser33 let us know what Tommy's say - I've my fingers crossed for you.

mia2201 · 09/04/2021 13:14

Hi ladies, thankfully the ultrasound went well and baby still growing and happy in my womb. I'm so relieved, this week has dragged impossibly but i seem to be fine. No reason for the spotting have been found (possibly growing placenta). I managed to be thoroughly checked over at epu as it's day 5 and my discharge is still tinged. Kids- they stress you out even before they're human-shaoed, don't they? I'm so grateful it's going well so far. I'm 8wks 4 days today 🙏 wish you an uneventful weekend- i think that's all we want at the moment? Xx

PurpleRaven777 · 09/04/2021 13:19

@Geyser33 Hiya, afraid I've never had my hcg levels taken so don't know much about it. I actually emailed Tommy's early in my pregnancy to ask if I should be pushing for more testing. They were quite slow to reply and the response was quite generic. Not emailed the miscarriage association before though. Not too long until your scan - try and keep your sanity until then!

@Tweaker still early but less early than you were! How are you doing?

My nausea is settling down a bit and I'm both relieved and concerned 🙈 Can't help but feel it's a bit early as I'm only 9w3d. I've booked another private scan and only 11 days until that - not that I'm counting.... 😂

mia2201 · 09/04/2021 13:25

Geyser have you heard anything back from tommy's? Xx

mia2201 · 09/04/2021 13:36

I've never had any symptoms and stopped waiting for them, google searches convinced me they mean nothing. Abrupt and complete end to them when you're sick all day could be a bad sign but fluctuating symptoms are ok on the whole. Also placenta starts to take over around 9-12 weeks i think so sickness often starts to subside 🤗

That's great news so glad all went well XX

Geyser have you heard anything back from tommy's? Xx
Had a standard automatic reply from Tommy's advising how busy they were etc so likely be some time before anyone can respond. The miscarriage association emailed back within hours and very reassuring 🙏🙏🙏

@mia2201 so sorry I didn't see your post earlier - guess our posts crossed in space! That's such great news, I'm so pleased for you!!! Did you manage to get any vaguely humanoid pictures? I was surprised how recognisably baby shaped it seemed on the screen this time but the photos are still quite blob-like 😂 Thanks for the thoughts about the placenta - I'm going to keep fingers crossed that's all it is. I'm still having some nausea but I am enjoying it being more manageable. I did also massively increase my B6 intake and that's supposed to help.

@Geyser33 glad to hear you got a reassuring reply from the miscarriage association 🙂

Hope everyone has a good uneventful weekend!

Geyser33 · 11/04/2021 10:09

Hello how is everyone doing? Hope days are passing quickly and well everyone. Just wanted to say thank you to the person who recommended the H&M nursing bras to wear at bedtime- mine arrived yesterday and had the best sleep ever last night as didn't wake with pain every time I rolled over! Thankyou xxxx

PurpleRaven777 · 11/04/2021 14:13

@Geyser33 I think that was me! I bought the nursing vests with my son and have to confess they have remained part of my goto clothes ever since 😂

Going ok here. Still bad nausea off and on and had more dizzy spells than usual too - I'm quite prone to them normally as my blood pressure tends to be low. Had booking bloods this morning and ended up having to lie on the floor while the nurse got me a glass of water 🤦 I'm normally ok in a chair but she had had to have a couple of goes and there was stuff on the bed when I decided the floor was safer Blush I have also been tempting fate by wearing my maternity jeans at home because most of my trousers don't fit already, even though I've actually lost weight 🙈

Tweaker · 11/04/2021 18:03

Evening everyone Gringood to see how you've been getting on. I've dreadful nausea still - no actual vomiting though. Still stuffing my face mind you and feeling very blimp like! Also v tired - napped for two hours today! How I'm going to cope at work is beyond me. I'm off atm following the accident so can rest all I like. I've decided I'm not saying anything to work until 12 weeks - oh god I hope I get there 🤞🏻7 weeks today.

PurpleRaven777 · 12/04/2021 09:41

@Tweaker it all sounds promising! Healing is tiring work even when you're not pregnant - I hope your work are being supportive about giving you enough time. I'm under pressure to tell my direct supervisor but managed to put it off last week and working from home this week. Have booked another scan for next Tuesday and have my 1:1 with him on Wednesday so I guess I'll tell him then if it goes well. My nausea is a little better than it was at its worst but still bad enough to make eating unpleasant. On the other hand I'm really hungry and not eating also makes me feel sick 😂

Tweaker · 12/04/2021 10:09

Thanks @PurpleRaven777 Smile I too feel sick if I don't eat and if I do! Argh! I'm trying to up my water intake as I have read we should, so lots of weeing too. Nothing glamorous about pregnancy! I had visions of my serenely floating about in a long dress gently sweeping my neat bump. Oh dear. That's gone out the window fast...
I don't think you should EVER feel under any pressure to disclose your pregnancy. Obviously you have to legally by a certain point (is it 28 weeks?) but until then it's entirely up to you, do what you're comfortable with. Personally, I will definitely not be telling anyone at work prior to 12 weeks. I'll just have to hide the nausea!

Geyser33 · 12/04/2021 10:30

Hope you're recovering well @Tweaker? I have been having terrible nausea but seems to have gone today. Also last couple days some very pale brown spotting when I wipe them this morning darker and more of it but again only when I wipe. I called the EPU and they said to sit tight til my scan on weds. Trying not to freak out. Typical first day back at work after week off 😩😩😩

Tweaker · 12/04/2021 10:57

@Geyser33 I am recovering well thank you. Oh gosh, that is frightening for you. I had the same with my DD many years ago - all was fine and the doctor told me it's v v common. Brown = good as it's old blood. However, I know how awful it feels and reassurance doesn't change that. Thank goodness you've a scan imminently. How many weeks are you now?
