Obviously I still don't know if this is going to result in a baby, but he's been growing perfectly through all the lack of symptoms

Thanks @Daffodil21. I hope you're right. I wish I wasn't starting to feel hope because a little part of me is excited and it will crush me if it goes wrong. I do wish I could hibernate for a few weeks!

How are you doing? x

Daffodil21 · 02/03/2021 20:54

@treesall I know what you mean, I wish I could hibernate until august 😂

I'm alright, just waiting for the weeks to pass really. I asked my midwife about regular Doppler testing today and she said she could test but only at appointments. So I'll be checked this Friday and again at 22 weeks, so I've booked another scan for halfway between my midwife app this Friday and my 20 week scan on 25th March. Having some mild pains again tonight, so I'm hoping they're just stretching pains and nothing else

Ahh that's good that you have something booked @Daffodil21. Hopefully they will help you keep calm and reassured. With my first pregnancy I bought a home Doppler. I know they have a bad rep and I will get slated for it on here! But I never used it in place of any other "normal" reassurance, and I didn't use it often, but I really liked being able to listen to the baby, once I'd learned how to find the hb. I guess I rarely did it once I could feel movements but from about weeks 10-17 I did use it 1-2 times a week. Not for everyone I know!

I think you would know about it if they were pains you should worry about, if that makes sense? X

Daffodil21 · 02/03/2021 21:06

@treesall I did consider it but then I decided against it in case I couldn't find the heartbeat myself. I guess as long as I did it on a day where there were scans available. Do you have a recommendation?

OP posts:
treesall · 02/03/2021 21:12

To be honest @Daffodil21, thinking about it and given what I've been through with the miscarriages since then, I'm not sure I'd recommend it now. If you couldn't find it it would be so distressing, and you could get so stressed / worked up for nothing.

I had no experience of loss then, and whilst I was very aware of mc and nervous about it, it was very different then to how I feel now I've experienced it.

I'm not sure what brand it is but I will have a look for it tomorrow to let you know. It was just a basic one though x

Daffodil21 · 02/03/2021 21:18

@treesall it's ok I think I've decided against it again already! We've got enough checks booked until the end of this month where I'll be 20 weeks, I'll see the midwife a couple of weeks later and I may book a scan in between, so hopefully we'll only need to have 1/2 more private scans, the NHS scan and 2 Doppler checks with the midwife, and then hopefully all being well I should start to feel movement...

That sounds sensible @Daffodil21 Smile

Daffodil21 · 05/03/2021 17:01

@HalGem99 did you have your scan today??

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 05/03/2021 19:32

Yes! Everything was fine! Can't believe it! They put me forward by 3 days so I'm 13 weeks 3 days!! Eeeeeeek! Did you have one? Xx

HalGem99 · 05/03/2021 19:33

@treesall how you getting on? Xx

Daffodil21 · 05/03/2021 19:55

@HalGem99 what a lovely scan!! I didn't have a scan today but i had a midwife appointment and got to hear the heart beat again which was a relief.

@treesall also wondering how you're doing? X

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 05/03/2021 20:34

Awww lovely!!!

I haven't heard the heartbeat yet! Did they listen to it at you 12 week scan?

I'm going to book a private one in 3 weeks time so will definitely hear it then! Did you have the tests for down syndrome etc? Xx

Daffodil21 · 05/03/2021 21:11

@HalGem99 no they don't do that here. I've heard it at all my private scans though. They even sell 'heartbeat bears' where they put a recording of your baby's heartbeat in! We didn't buy one though.

Yes I've had all the tests. Thankfully they came back as low risk. Did you have yours today?

OP posts:
treesall · 05/03/2021 21:25

Awwwww @HalGem99 that is the most beautiful scan! So clear!!

Glad you got to hear the heartbeat today @Daffodil21.

I'm good thank you. Got a 3+ today so I'm going to stop testing now. (Well maybe the odd cheapie but I've stopped the crazy testing a million times a day!).

I know I shouldn't get excited because I had my first mc after getting 3+ but this is further than I got with the last 2. Just keeping everything crossed that I get good news at my scan on Tuesday.

Daffodil21 · 05/03/2021 21:50

@treesall so glad you got your 3+!! How far along will you be on Tuesday?

OP posts:
treesall · 05/03/2021 22:12

Exactly 6w by LMP, but based on ovulation I think I'll be 5+6 or 5+5. That 2 days could make such a difference this early - I'm a Bit worried that will mean it's too early and the scan will be inconclusive and then I'll have another week or two of limbo waiting to see what happens. That's when the EPU booked it for though and I don't work Tuesdays so it's convenient, so I'm not gonna try and change it.

Daffodil21 · 05/03/2021 22:22

@treesall yeah that is a worry. Being in limbo is the worst but at least you're prepared for the possibility of having to go back. Probably won't make it any easier though! Hope it won't come to that and you'll have a lovely scan though x

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 06/03/2021 02:00

@treesall that is amazing!!!!! It may be to early but at least you are prepared and they will still be able to confirm things at the appointment even if there is no heartbeat at that stage. Having said that, I had scans before 6 weeks at the epu both times before 6 weeks and both times the heartbeat was already there so it is possible! Keeping everything crossed!!

We told parents and brothers and sisters today, it felt surreal but exciting at the same time! We're not telling anyone else though just yet! Xx

Daffodil21 · 06/03/2021 09:40

@HalGem99 that is exciting!! I bet they're thrilled! Do they know your history?

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 06/03/2021 10:01

Yes they know the history. They can't believe how far along we are! Xx

Daffodil21 · 06/03/2021 10:15

@HalGem99 that's lovely!!

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 09/03/2021 07:15

@treesall do you have your scan today? Xx

treesall · 09/03/2021 07:28

I do! Well remembered @HalGem99.

I barely slept last night. Feel like a zombie! I'm so worried (convinced) I'm going to get bad / limbo news. I just don't think I can bear it! I'll just have to put my big girl pants on and deal with it.

Still no symptoms apart from tiredness. I feel like my mmc is repeating itself, this is exactly the same. Sigh!

How are you doing? x

HalGem99 · 09/03/2021 07:42

@treesall what time is it at? I will keep everything crossed for you!!

It's very common not to have any symptoms. I only had fatigue in the early weeks and now I'm having full on headaches and morning sickness! Really struggling to be honest! Xx
