@HalGem99 YAY!!! This is fabulous news, congratulations xxx

HalGem99 · 11/03/2021 16:46

@treesall how are you today xx

Daffodil21 · 11/03/2021 17:43

@HalGem99 yesss that's so good!

I've brought my scan forward to this evening. Not looking forward to it.

@treesall also wondering how you're doing x

treesall · 11/03/2021 17:55

@Daffodil21 @HalGem99 thank you for asking - I am ok. Obviously I'm still sad but I have accepted it. I am just a bit worried because my gut feeling is I'm going to need to have intervention to pass it again, which I am massively dreading. I don't know whether I would try medical again or just skip it and go straight for an MVA. I really don't want either so hoping my body kicks into action very soon xx

Daffodil21 · 11/03/2021 18:17

@treesall I'm afraid I can't advise on the options, I didn't need intervention for any of mine (small mercies).

We're still here for you, please don't feel like you can't talk to us xxx

HalGem99 · 11/03/2021 18:56

I had medical management for both of mine. What is MVA? Xx

HalGem99 · 15/03/2021 17:32

How is everyone? Any updates? I've booked a private scan for Saturday as the anxiety is getting the better of me! Xx

Daffodil21 · 15/03/2021 18:16

@HalGem99 I had one on Thursday, all still seems to be ok thankfully! I've got my 20 week scan next Thursday and already debating whether or not to book another scan for this week. I'm ridiculous, I know 🙈 I was really hoping to feel movement soon but I don't think I will as I have an anterior placenta 😒

How are you?

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 15/03/2021 18:20

If it makes you feel better then do it. Glad to hear the last scan was ok! Hopefully it's not long before you feel movement.

I am struggling with migraines and nausea and fatigue! Left work early today because my head was just getting worse.

We told my grandad and my three best friends yesterday so everything is feeling more real! Xx

Daffodil21 · 15/03/2021 19:01

@HalGem99 I am tempted tbh. Even though it'll be less than a week between that scan and the 20 week one. I'll see how I feel in a few days...

Oh no! I hope it gets better for you soon! Glad you left work early - you have to listen to your body.

Aw I bet they're thrilled! We've told most people now although it still doesn't really feel real 🙈

Morning ladies. Just thought I'd update you because I am a bit of a mess!

Just had my scan to confirm the miscarriage...except today there is a very tiny embryo and heartbeat, though it's very weak and very slow.

The sonographer said she doesn't want me to get excited because it's not looking at all good and is measuring 5/6 weeks instead of 7. There is also a big bleed in my uterus (thoigh I haven't had any at all yet) and she said that could be the start of the miscarriage.

I was so calm and had decided I was going to ask for an MVA and now I feel so confused! I have a teeny flicker of hope and it's going to be so much worse when I have to go back in 2 weeks, assuming it's bad news! Argh!!

Glad you are doing well @Daffodil21 and @HalGem99

HalGem99 · 16/03/2021 11:24

Oh lord! That is such a stressful situation. Is it possible that the heartbeat is slow and weak because it's only just started to develop? I know she's saying it's measuring 1/2 weeks behind but if it's only a week behind that's quite normal isn't it? Although the bleed doesn't sound good, did she give any other explanation for bit? I guess you have no choice but to see out the next 2 weeks! Can you book in for a private scan in 1 week to check for any developments? Xx

treesall · 16/03/2021 13:27

Thanks @HalGem99. I don't really want to get bad news again at the private scan place to be honest so I think I will try and hold off for two weeks. But the last week has felt the longest time ever so I might change my mind on that!

I don't really know whether it's possible that it's slow only because it's just developed. I guess that's possible, but either way the baby is teeny tiny (2.4mm) which is minuscule and wayyy behind where it should be so it's bad news whichever way you look at it!

Daffodil21 · 16/03/2021 14:00

@treesall how long and drawn out and horrible for you!! I don't really know what to say to that, except I'm so sorry your still in a huge limbo. Keep us posted and we're here if you need x

I had a private scan yesterday, everything was good! Told more of our family afterwards. We're getting excited now and I've started buying little bits. Eeeeek. The baby wouldn't stay still for a picture so it's a bit blurry! It also kept drinking and at one point looked straight at us and it was so creepy!! Lol oh and we heard the heartbeat for the first time. Amazing!! Also measuring right on, 15 weeks 4 days.

I've got the midwife next Friday then I'm going to book another scan for around the 10th April.

How is everyone else? Any updates? Xx

Daffodil21 · 21/03/2021 09:23

@HalGem99 amazing news!! Will you find out the sex at next scan it keeping as a surprise?

I'm alright thank you, got my 20 week scan on Thursday 😱 if all ok then I'm going to start buying a few bits after x

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 21/03/2021 09:31

Yes we will find out what we're having but we're going to wait until the official NHS 20 week scan. I'm going to get them to write it down then hubby and I will get a nice take away and a few non alcoholic cocktails and open it together but we're not going to tell anyone else because we're going to do a gender reveal!

I think the 20 week scan is the turning point so you should definitely start to get ready for baby and buy buy buy! Xx

Daffodil21 · 21/03/2021 09:46

@HalGem99 aww that's lovely! We've told everyone we've told about the pregnancy that it's a boy 😂 We're in Scotland and in our area they don't tell you at NHS scans so if you want to know you have to book a private scan. We've had so many private scans anyway so it didn't make any difference to us!!

If it goes ok then I am going to buy a couple of outfits straight after!

I'm guessing you have felt any movement yet?

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 21/03/2021 09:51

Gosh I didn't know that they don't tell you in Scotland! Crazy!

No I haven't felt anything yet have you? At the scan yesterday she told me that I have an anterior placenta and I didn't have a clue what that meant so googled it yesterday and apparently it might take longer for me to feel movement. Have you heard of that before?

Awww there's such cute baby boy outfits!! Xx

Daffodil21 · 21/03/2021 09:59

@HalGem99 neither did I until ours friends' had one! (We're not from Scotland). I think it depends on your area, but ours is a flat no!

I have an anterior placenta too! Very annoying as I was hoping to feel movements soon but not sure I will. I think I might be able to feel some sort of movements now, but it's not kicks and tbh I'm not sure if I'm imagining it! Very annoying as I was hoping I could stop booking private scans! Xx

HalGem99 · 21/03/2021 10:11

How far are you now? Its so hard to know what is normal and what's not! I ended up at the gp on Wednesday as my migraines were just unbearable! They checked blood pressure and did a urine sample but luckily everything was ok and I'm just one of those women who suffer pregnancy related migraines and they wouldn't prescribe anything because of the baby which I understand so just hoping they get better! Xx

Daffodil21 · 21/03/2021 10:14

@HalGem99 19+4 (I'll be exactly 20 weeks at my next scan).

Oh no that sounds horrible! And annoying but understandable that they couldn't give you anything! Xx

treesall · 21/03/2021 23:52

Lovely lovely pic @HalGem99! So pleased to hear your baby is doing well. :-)

Glad you're well too @Daffodil21. 20 week scan is such a milestone. I remember the enormous relief I felt after that was over and all was ok! X

HalGem99 · 21/03/2021 23:54

@treesall how are you doing? Xx

treesall · 22/03/2021 00:12

I'm ok thank you, but can't sleep! Finding this pregnant-but-not-really-pregnant phase hard. Constantly wondering whether the baby has died yet (I think it has, but can't really emotionally deal with it until it's confirmed). I am super tired and slightly nauseous but also starving hungry a couple of hours after eating which is doing my head in! My tolerance for preggo symptoms is low when I know they're all for nothing!

Probably rather more than you wanted to know! Haha x
