@treesall I'm 9 weeks tomorrow! I had little waves of nausea at 6 weeks. It didn't hit bad until 8 weeks! How many weeks are you at the moment? Yeah hopefully! I have a scan a week on Friday so hoping they can see enough to try rule out any NTDS! so scared!

Yeah understandable. The first trimester is such a challenge, I wish we could just enjoy pregnancy and be excited. It's cruel the torture it brings us all! I honestly hope this is your time and baby sticks!

And @Daffodil21 how exciting, how are you feeling about it all? You nervous? Bet you can't wait to just have little one in your arms and safe!x

treesall · 26/07/2021 18:41

Woohoo that's great @Blxo94. I'm my head 9 weeks is a good hurdle to cross. I'm 6+5. If my sickness doesn't ramp up massively in the next 48 hours I'll know it's game over!

Daffodil21 · 26/07/2021 18:51

@Blxo94 9 weeks is great!!! All the best for Friday!

@treesall @Blxo94 first trimester really is the worst. There's no way to describe it other than totally and utterly shit. I was constantly worried he'd stopped growing so we ended up booking lots and lots of scans. When are you next getting seen @treesall ?

to be honest I'm not at all excited. Still have no idea what the outcome will be. I just wish I knew if we'd be bringing him home or not, but I guess we'll find out soon. Yeah I'll be staying in Aberdeen from Monday until the following Monday when my section is booked, just in case I go into labour sooner than the section. I think I've probably mentioned upthread that the hosp is over an hour away and both my mum's labours were under an hour (I was born at home). Just got to hope I don't go
into labour before we go to Aberdeen in a week! Weird to think that whatever happens, in 2 weeks this pregnancy will be over..!

@Daffodil21 ahhhhh! Your Scottish!! So am I. Edinburgh lass here! I hope everything goes smoothly and you have your beautiful baby home with you. Its so scary. I wish we didn't have to worry like this x

Daffodil21 · 26/07/2021 19:04

@Blxo94 I'm afraid I'm an imposter from England and I'm not actually Scottish 😳

Thank you! I know. I can't believe it's turned out like this. I honestly just thought you decide to have a baby, dtd, get pregnant within a year and have a baby. I had no idea that I would have 4 pregnancies before a baby, and that's if we even take him home ok. I always thought pregnancy would be full of joy and not just totally shit! Physically i've had a pretty good pregnancy but mentally it's a whole other level!

Hoping for the best for all of us! I think we've all been through enough shit now! Xxx

@Daffodil21 couldn't agree more!

Ah I see, how come your having baby here? I cant wait to here a update that baby arrived safe and well. I honestly have everything crossed for a smooth delivery!

How's everyone doing?

Daffodil21 · 28/07/2021 19:56

@Blxo94 thank you! Oh I do live in Scotland - I moved here just before lockdown last year but I'm originally from England.

How are you doing? X

OP posts:
Blxo94 · 28/07/2021 20:01

@Daffodil21 oh god I'm sorry haha! How are you finding it up here? Do you enjoy living here? Bit crap you moved and then lockdown hit. Thank god things are carrying on as normal. Scary but such a relief. I have a 9 year old boy and it's affected him so much it breaks my heart!

I'm good yeah, still anxious of course. I've had alot of bad cramping today and sharp pains down below here and there but I think it's just round ligament and everything growing!

How are you doing?xx

Daffodil21 · 28/07/2021 20:16

@Blxo94 we really like it! A bit of a shame about the timing with lockdown, but it gave us plenty of time to work on the house (it needed it!) so now we're just about there which is good timing. Things are starting to open up now including a local walking group which I've joined and manage to meet some people through that which is nice. I actually can't really complain about lockdown because it hasn't been too bad for us. Really feel for your boy though! Must be so tough for lots of people!

Unfortunately I don't think the anxiousness will ever go. But it does get easier! I had lots of stretching pains too. Do please keep us posted on your next scan. I may forget to ask on Friday because I imagine I'll be having a bit of a reality check about the CS approaching 😂 if he's not already here of course!

All good here thank you. Just waiting and hoping all will be ok! X

@Daffodil21 that's brilliant! Glad it wasn't too hard on you guys! It's been a long long wait to get to this point now! Feel like a year and a half of my life has been wasted and taken away ha!

And its not this Friday but next, so the 6th! I will update as soon as possible. Just praying that everything is OK. Don't think my heart and mental health can take much more! Keep us updated on baby boy!!!x

treesall · 28/07/2021 21:34

Glad to hear you're both doing ok @Blxo94 and @Daffodil21

I'm all ok too thank you. Struggling with this weird starving hungry feeling all the time, I feel like my tummy is eating itself. Not sure what that's all about, I've never had it before.

My scan is next Friday too. This is the big one for me, if things look ok then I feel like I have w good chance of this pregnancy working out. However; I know the chances of things being ok on Friday are not great.

Daffodil21 · 28/07/2021 21:51

@Blxo94 keeping everything crossed for you!

@treesall remember this time is different. You are on the treatment plan. There is every chance this will work out ❤️

Ladies just trying to catch up on all of your stories! So pleased to see that things are going in the right direction for you all!

I started my maternity leave today at 35 weeks! Still don't know how I've got here but feeling so blessed!

Looks like my little one will be arriving early by either induction or C-section because of the gestational diabetes. I have another growth scan in 2 weeks where they will make a decision!

@Daffodil21 not long for you now?! How you feeling xx

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2021 18:30

@HalGem99 congrats on being on maternity leave! Such a good milestone to get to.!

I'm ok, just hoping he stays put until section! It's booked for Monday 9th. I'm now staying at an Airbnb close to the hospital in case anything happens sooner. I had nightmares about him being born on the side of the road and something being wrong, so I'm so so glad to be staying less than 10'mins away from the hospital!

How are you doing?

Hope everyone else is well? X

treesall · 03/08/2021 19:14

Great to hear from you @HalGem99, I've been wondering how you are! Congratulations on starting your mat leave - I remember that being the BEST feeling!

How's your air b&b @Daffodil21? It must be strange knowing next time you go home you will have your baby :-)

I'm ok thank you. Emotions are yo-yo-ing like crazy, not knowing what Fridays scan is going to bring. My boobs are slightly sore, I'm absolutely shattered and hungry a lot, and very slightly nauseous, but that's the same as in my first mc so I'm just not sure. My successful pregnancy I had much much much stronger symptoms. I will be relieved when Friday is over and I will know either way, but I'm already awake in the night worrying about potentially needing another procedure to remove a miscarriage. Confused

Daffodil21 · 03/08/2021 20:48

@treesall for what I paid I really can't complain! I'm pretty sure it's normally student accommodation but I would have been happy camping if it meant I was as close to the hosp, so this is a step up from that at least! I basically picked the cheapest and closest Airbnb to the hospital, which happened to be the same flat! It does feel weird that next time I go home, I won't be pregnant anymore. I really really hope we do bring him home but I'm wary that things can still go wrong.

Waiting for your scan must be so so horrible. I remember that feeling well. I hope it doesn't drag too much for you and that you manage to switch off from it sometimes, although I'm sure you can't ❤️

HalGem99 · 04/08/2021 06:03

@treesall it's going to be an anxious few days for you but you need to stay positive. Please let us know how you get on Friday. As for the symptoms not being as strong, don't read into that because each pregnancy is different. For this one, I had a sick hunger feeling for the first 4 months, it went then came back recently.

@Daffodil21 9th August!!! Omg! How are you feeling about a C-section? Have you read much about the recovery? I need to this week as I think that's where mine is heading as baby has jumped from the 50th centile to the 90th centile in 2 weeks and the consultant is not sure why as my sugar levels have been under control. She started talking about shoulder dystocia and complications with having a natural birth etc. So scary xx

Daffodil21 · 04/08/2021 12:56

@HalGem99 to be honest I feel much much better about a CS than I do a natural birth. The CS is entirely my choice. I know I'll be shitting myself on the day though 😂 if we make it that long of course without him coming early! I'm not ecstatic about the recovery, but my husband will be there so I can take it easy, and then when he goes back to work we'll have family around if I still need time to recover.

The thing I'm worried about is getting up off the bed and sofa, I'm hoping everything else will be manageable.

Oh wow that's a bit of a bombshell isn't it. How are you feeling about it?? What do you think you'll do? X

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 04/08/2021 15:11

That's good that you will have a lot of support. To be honest if its a choice between induction or C-section then I will choose a C-section because inductions can end in emergency C-sections anyway! I'm obviously feeling anxious with the unknown but happy to go with the flow and make a decision once we have all the facts at the next growth scan xx

GreenGecko36 · 05/08/2021 17:38

Really great to hear that things are going well for those of you hurtling towards your due dates, so exciting and helps me believe that one day that could be me 😊

I've caved and booked a private scan for Saturday - waiting two more weeks for the NHS one is just too long, especially given we've had really positive 9wk scans before and had it all go wrong. Pretty terrified that it'll be one of those where the sonographer utters the phrase we desperately don't want to hear, but fingers crossed my fading symptoms are what's meant to happen at this stage...

Good luck for the scans tomorrow @treesall and @Blxo94 - I'm definitely thinking of you both x

HalGem99 · 06/08/2021 08:42

Good luck to you all with scans today. I have everything crossed for you! Please let us know how you get on xx

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2021 09:34

Thinking of you both today @Blxo94 @treesall ❤️

@GreenGecko36 I would have done exactly the same. The amount of private scans I booked until I could feel movements was ridiculous, but it was the only thing that helped do you've got to do what you've got to do! Hope all goes well tomorrow, let us know ❤️
