Oh wow @AnxiousAnnie86 that is so exciting! I haven't had a c-section before but a friend of mine had a planned one and said it was a fairly calm and relaxed experience. When I did my hypnobirthing course they said that you can ask to have the electrodes put on your back instead of your chest so you can have skin to skin straight away. They said you can also ask to have all the bright lights dimmed with your own music playing if you wish (they work with a spot light where they are working). Keep us posted! 😁

Blossom428 · 14/06/2021 14:33

OMG fridayyyyy @AnxiousAnnie86 how amazing you get to meet your baby so soon 🥰
How many weeks are you, if you have to have the steroid injection?
Yes I've heard positive things about planned sections. And like @SS123456 says you can still have all your preferences even with a c section!
Are you all prepared? Bags packed?
I've just started packing my hospital bag- nursery furniture arrives Wednesday finally, so I can start washing and putting soothes away rather than them being in big boxes everywhere!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/06/2021 15:14

@Blossom428 @SS123456 thanks guys!

I know I can't believe it's finally time!! What date are you both due?

I'm 38 weeks, they said they like to give steroids where a planned section is in place.

We are pretty much packed yeah! Just couple bits to Chuck in on the morning but ready for the most part! It's hard to know what to take isn't it!

How exciting!! In a way it's quite good as least your know when it's going to happen and can be all prepared- where as a spontaneous labour could be any time.
Yeah it is hard to know what to pack, I always over pack for every holiday, so I'm trying to be a little bit better as I don't want loads of bags, just like a carry on case and a rucksack for babies bits.
My tiba and marl bag arrived and I'm in loveeeee 😍

I'm due on 22nd July- so 5 weeks to go (praying he comes a bit earlier though- but I know they come when they want).
Finishing work on 9th July - 2 weeks before. Literally can't wait, just sorting out my close down over the next few weeks.

TheOrangeMonster · 15/06/2021 09:38

@AnxiousAnnie86 gosh that came around quickly! Good luck! My MIL had an emergency C and she said that although the circumstances were stressful the actual op itself was totally fine and over very quickly. She also described the "lion king moment" when they lift the baby out like Simba for you to see.

SS123456 · 16/06/2021 07:13

@AnxiousAnnie86 It's so exciting to know the actual date your baby will be born! 😁. I'm due the 26th August so still roughly 10 weeks to go. It's tricky not knowing when she'll cone though as I'm only finishing work for my 2 weeks leave the day she is born and it's hard to continually keep my work 'good to go' and baby ready 🙈

AnxiousAnnie86 · 16/06/2021 07:42

@SS123456 yeah I must say the knowing they date is a big help! To think I could have another three weeks fills me with dread! But I guess I wouldn't expect diff if c section hadn't been planned! We still have no name! We got there and then my father ruined it!!!

We have two absolute favourites, but one is mine and one is my husbands and we don't agree on each other's choices 😂😂

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 16/06/2021 10:38

Ohh no, that's bad someone ruined it! This is why I won't share names with anyone haha.
@AnxiousAnnie86
Well I believe you should have your name first then partner could have his as the middle name? Or would it not flow?
I keep saying we need to sit down and narrow our list down as it's soo long.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 16/06/2021 13:56

@Blossom428 it wouldn't work they are both too out there! We need a "normal" middle name with both firsts! We are gonna whittle down our list tonight I think as there is like 40 on it!!!! 😂

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 17/06/2021 06:46

Ahhh yeah haha!! Did you manage to whittle your list down @AnxiousAnnie86 ?
Happy new baby day eve
What time are you in tomorrow 😆😆😆

AnxiousAnnie86 · 17/06/2021 07:29

@Blossom428 hah thanks! I was getting contractions all day yesterday but not at a regular time so praying she stays in! We have a scan at 4pm today which seems crazy as we are meeting her tomorrow 😂 but it's also kind of re assuring before we do! X

@AnxiousAnnie86 such good luck for tomorrow!

How is everyone monitoring kicks etc? I had a worry yesterday because baby didn't do much moving in the morning but then did loads at about 8pm, it has no pattern at all so I haven't the foggiest what I'm supposed to be looking out for! Don't want to spend 3 hours waiting in day assessment for false alarms!

Also has anyone had a GTT? I've got to have one tomorrow because baby's belly is quite big - confuses me because I don't have any risk factors for GDM!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 17/06/2021 08:49

@TheOrangeMonster honestly I can say mine never ever has any pattern! Right up till now! The only thing I could say is "some sort of pattern" is she is quiet and then has busy spurts, so I can go hours and hours wirh nothing then all of a sudden it's like a party in there! It makes monitoring so hard!!!

I'm sorry I haven't heard of that before? X

No I've not been tested for diabetes @TheOrangeMonster . Least they are following things up... is it where you have to drink the sugary drink?

Also I don't feel a major pattern with mine, usually in the morning I feel him, and then in the evening. If I feel like I've not felt him for a while I'll just lay still somewhere for 5 mins and usually get some sort of movement.

@AnxiousAnnie86 awww a nice little scan before you meet her tomorow! Can't actually believe we are going to have our first baby announcement 😆😆😆 I wish you all the best, and please update us when you can! Hope everything goes smoothly and you and little one are all good! Remember to take it easy 💞💞💞

SS123456 · 17/06/2021 13:41

Massive good luck for tomorrow @AnxiousAnnie86 😁❤️

@TheOrangeMonster my baby doesn't have a set pattern of movements either but I do find that when I am moving around during the day I don't feel/notice her as much. She seems to have a party in the evening though after I've eaten 😂

I had the GTT test a couple of weeks ago and also had it with my pregnancy for my now 9 year as my dad is diabetic. Pre-covid you had two blood tests 2 hours apart and drank a glucose drink in the middle. During covid it's just a single blood test so far less intrusive to do and much quicker

TheOrangeMonster · 17/06/2021 14:47

Thanks @Blossom428 @SS123456 that's helpful information.

Midwives seem to think all babies should have a pattern and we have to keep an eye on it but I swear no one I have asked has a baby with a movement pattern! 😅

SS123456 · 18/06/2021 06:19

@AnxiousAnnie86 good luck today!! ❤️😁

AnxiousAnnie86 · 18/06/2021 06:53

@SS123456 thanks so much' I'm totally exhausted, in last row nights I've had a total of three hours sleep, I don't know why but it's absolutely awful! We have to be at the hospital at 11;30!,

Blossom428 · 18/06/2021 08:49

Good luckkkk @AnxiousAnnie86 👶🏻💞
You will have had a lot on your mind so not surprised struggled to sleep, plus being really humid!

Hey all! Baby girl arrived safely at 5:38pm I feel like I've been hit by a truck but she is so so worth it! She is called Gwynevere Amelia but will by known by Gwynnie!

Omg congratulations @AnxiousAnnie86 !! Beautiful name 💞💞
How much did she weigh?
Take it easy, I'm guessing you will have to stay in hospital for a couple of nights. Hopefully you will feel bit better tomorrow.
Can't believe we have our first baby, after going through this whole journey together!! So happy for you

AnxiousAnnie86 · 19/06/2021 00:40

@Blossom428 I know it's so so lovely isn't it! We were on the ttc thread for so long! And now we have a little baby! She weighed 6.7!! Which is strange as she was measuring so much smaller on growth scans!

The name came when my husband looked at her! So strange not been on the list or mentioned! We were down to another three! And he just said Gwynevere and it sounded so right! X
