@Blossom428 so hard isn't it! People keep asking SIL is like "I know you have a name" we really don't!!! Husband refuses to agree on anything until she is here. So we shall see what she ends up as! I honestly have no clue 😂 can't believe we had fully decided on a boy, I always thought it would be boys names that were hard!

How's everyone feeling? I'm getting more and more uncomfortable by the day! Ribs are killing me she is so high up and keeps kicking me in them! Also this acid reflux is awful! To think I'm a bridesmaid in five weeks! Literally days before I have her 😱😱😱😱

@AnxiousAnnie86 haha, yeah people say that, wait till you see baby and you know what they will look like 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm feeling really good in myself, odd bouts of tiredness in the day but I think that's because I keep waking up at like 5.30 🙈
Finally ordering our nursery furniture next Friday, and picking up our pram today 😆

What are you all doing about a baby shower? I think I'm just going to have one in my garden with closest friends and family.

Blossom428 · 09/05/2021 08:26

And omg Asif you are going to be a bridesmaid!! Let's hope she doesn't come early - or mid way through the vows your waters break 😂🙈@AnxiousAnnie86

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/05/2021 08:52

@Blossom428 oh I know! It's been re arranged five times since last year!!! It's going to be sat down mostly so hoping I will be okay!!!

We've pretty much finished everything now! Nursery was finished yesterday, only thing we haven't got is any of the toiletry stuff or wet wipes. I still need to pack hospital bags! Five weeks to go! I can't believe it x

@Blossom428 we have decided not to mention names either, in case anyone steals them 😂 or tells a horror story!

Wow, you’re a bridesmaid! That will be lovely though 😊 I had a pregnant bridesmaid and a bridesmaid with a 1x week old baby, it was lovely. @AnxiousAnnie86

Does anyone have back relief tips? Its driving me crazy! 😩

TheOrangeMonster · 10/05/2021 15:09

@Blossom428 @AnxiousAnnie86 @mabelelsie I made the mistake of mentioning some names (early on, not the ones we settled on) to my mum, and she immediately started telling me why they weren't any good or why I should go with x name or y name. Not in a mean way, just because that's what she's like. "Oh, you don't want to call them that, I don't like that one". All the names I mentioned at the time were traditional names 😂

I'm ridiculously tired all the time, I thought it was supposed to go away after the first trimester but apparently not! Have the worst brain fog, I wish I could just give up work now and hide! Not looking forward to the fact I have to go back to work 6 weeks after having the baby either (can't afford not to, no ML for the self-employed and MA is shite).

Feels like I've been pregnant forever and I will be pregnant forever, time is dragging out so badly but I'm kind of in a weird stage where I'm keen to meet the baby but also quite happy not to be dealing with all the stuff that goes with that yet....nervous about the birth, breastfeeding etc. My mum keeps telling me what a doddle it all is and how only wimps and people who can't cope find it difficult (yes, she's an incredibly old fashioned Wonder-Woman who gave birth painkiller-free and was out of hospital in two shakes working with one hand and feeding a baby with the other).

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/05/2021 15:34

@TheOrangeMonster hey! It's so frustrating isn't it, we haven't mentioned any names now as our parents opinion reallt matters and it's upsetting for them to hate a name!! We have one we both currently like, whether she will end up as it who knows!!

I had a real scare yest, still happening, babu wasn't moving at all! So went to day unit, they put me on monitoring, but still no movement detected. Heartbeat was fine, I've got to go for a scan tomorrow morning at 9am. Movements still very sporadic:( x

SS123456 · 11/05/2021 07:14

@TheOrangeMonster I'm feeling your pain on the self employed leave! I'll be back to work after 2 weeks although realistically will still do some work during that time anyway

TheOrangeMonster · 11/05/2021 08:36

@SS123456 argh yuck! I'm sorry for moaning about 6 weeks now!

@AnxiousAnnie86 that's really scary, hopefully baby just had a really long sleep or turned in an unusual direction. They found a heartbeat so that's good! Have you felt ok? I've read lots of stories about people whose foetal movement suddenly vanished but it all turned out perfectly fine - if that makes you feel any better.

Blossom428 · 11/05/2021 13:38

Oh that is scary! Hope things are all okay at your scan. Least you have been feeling a little bit of movements, but good you got checked straight away rather than leaving it. @AnxiousAnnie86
I think my baby is head down, I'm getting lots of kicks to the ribs. I know they can still turn but hoping not so. I do worry about baby becoming breech.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 11/05/2021 14:21

It was a long morning! But everything looks okay! They did a really thorough scan, she seemed okay, and is kicking now! I've honestly never been so scared, there was nothing, no movements at all! 😩 she's measuring small in the 10th percentile but they aren't concerned x

OP posts:
TheOrangeMonster · 11/05/2021 15:17

@AnxiousAnnie86 that's good news! She must've decided to have a long sleep or something! I'm still at the stage where they say it's normal to go for a long while without noticing anything but now that I've picked up on the Bean's patterns it is pretty freaky if there are long periods without anything!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 11/05/2021 16:15

@TheOrangeMonster oh I totally agree! They say they won't monitor movements till like 24/28 weeks but I remember panicking when I was like 18/19 if I couldn't feel her! X

OP posts:
SS123456 · 11/05/2021 16:58

@AnxiousAnnie86 thank god all is ok! Well done for getting checked straight away and not waiting it out x

Blossom428 · 12/05/2021 09:25

Glad everything is okay in the end @AnxiousAnnie86 must have been very worrying for you.

Is anyone doing hypnobirthing? I've joined the positive birth company. Really useful information.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 09:28

@Blossom428 I've got a book on hypnobjrthing my friend gave me, she absolutely swore by it, I'm having a c section so not sure it'll work, but think there are methods in it to help with nerves etc, so going to give it a read when I start Matt leave!

What's everyone's due dates??

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 12/05/2021 10:22

Yeah you can use it for the whole of birth no matter what type you have. It's all about you being In control of your body, and even with a c section there are things you can do to prepare yourself before, and preferences that you want on your birth plan about the c section. @AnxiousAnnie86

My due date is 22nd July. - 30weeks. tomorrow 😆 thinking of taking 2 weeks annual leave before, so finish work on 9th july!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 10:29

@Blossom428 I finish on 28th may, due 18th by c section unless they change it. I honestly can't wait to finish! I'm so so tired!!!!

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 12/05/2021 10:33

Ooooh not far away at all 😆 @AnxiousAnnie86
I've taken the day off work today, woke up feeling so tired, headache and sicky which I haven't had before. So just going to take it easy.
I feel like I am already in shut down mode with work though haha 🙈🙈 I love my job but can't wait to finish too

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 10:42

@Blossom428 the tiredness has been the worst part of pregnancy for me, I have no energy and am utterly exhausted all the time! Feel like there's so much to do before she comes!

No not long. Five weeks on Friday 🤞🤞🤞

SS123456 · 12/05/2021 14:16

@Blossom428 I actually nearly bought their course yesterday. Is it worth doing?

TheOrangeMonster · 12/05/2021 16:10

@AnxiousAnnie86 I've got that tiredness thing too - they tell you you're supposed to feel better after the first trimester don't they, but naaaaah! I read somewhere that being pregnant actually reduces the amount of cognitive grey matter in your brain. 😅

How does everyone feel about Labour/birth? I'm really nervous about it, but I think I'm most unhappy about having to stay in hospital overnight afterwards on my own. I really hope I don't have to! Covid risk/needing to just be at home and not with strangers.

Blossom428 · 12/05/2021 17:13

I've watched about half of it @SS123456 so far... and really found it useful. It's got good information but also makes you think a lot of feel like I CAN do this haha!
@TheOrangeMonster maybe you should look into hypnobirthing if you are feeling really nervous.
I'm one of those that has to have all the info, I've researched so much and watched so many videos. I think I will get more nervous as time gets closer, but very excited and can't believe how fast time is going!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 17:27

@TheOrangeMonster it's just awful! It's like bone numbing tiredness! I really need this nesting thing to kick in lol!

I'm feeling okay, I'm worried as it's a section so I know that means longer stay in hospital and I do worry about recovery time. But it will be okay, it's all temporary isn't it. I just can't wait to meet her now! I think we might be there with a name now! 😍

@Blossom428 what actually is hypnobirthing? It always sounded like something a bit...new age? (No disrespect just genuinely curious). I think it's the "hypno" - makes me think it involves making yourself go into a trance or something. I've kind of already resigned myself to not being able to have a water birth because they've only got one pool in our local hospital and three women I've spoken to who gave birth there (admittedly one about 5 years ago) said it was in use and they weren't able to follow their birth plan at all. Two of them also said the midwives were really busy and rushed and took ages to come around to them. I feel like in the postcode lottery of hospitals I've drawn the short straw 😱
@AnxiousAnnie86 my MIL had an emergency C with my husband, she said it was quite calm and she found the healing to be easier than vaginal birth because you don't have all the tearing and haemorrhoids and stuff. She said it made breastfeeding a little awkward for the first few days but her scar is only about three and a half inches long. She said it felt like they were pulling her around -she was aware of movement happening - because obviously it's not a general anaesthetic, but it wasn't painful, just a little weird.
Hopefully you'll find it similarly not too bad! 🤞🏻
