Ohh yes sorry I forgot you said that previously 🥰 @AnxiousAnnie86

Blossom428 · 30/04/2021 11:04

Had my growth scan and actually measuring on the 70th percentile haha. 🙈 heading for a bigger baby.
Shows how inaccurate the measuring of bump is.
Baby weighs around 3lbs 🥰

AnxiousAnnie86 · 30/04/2021 11:25

@Blossom428 oooh that's great! Comforting to know as well that bump can we one thing and babu another my bump is massive. I'm only tiny too 😂

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 01/05/2021 04:57

Yeah for sure @AnxiousAnnie86
I know same, i was only a size 6/8 pre pregnancy- and atm I'm literally just alll bump! Like someone has put a basket ball up my top 😂

God anyone else experiencing PGP- it started couple of days ago and feels so sore!!! I had hip pains before but now this has become like pressure and painful on my groin 😭
Also wide awake at 4am every morning 🙈🙈🙈

TheOrangeMonster · 04/05/2021 08:16

@Blossom428 how did you manage to get a scan? They've told my my next three are phone appointments due to covid! I can't get my blood pressure checked despite risk of pre eclampsia (for which I'm on meds) or get the baby measured or anything. I've been trying to find out why for weeks!
The antenatal care seems to be so random and inconsistent across the country.

I don't think I've put any weight on anywhere else either, I just wish someone would invent a way to have babies without growing a massive stomach. 😂

Blossom428 · 04/05/2021 09:11

Haha that's funny @TheOrangeMonster

I have been able to see my midwife face to face. Bad that they won't see you and take blood pressure- surely they need to monitor that if at risk.
I had my scan because when she measured my tummy at my 28week appt my bump measured small (defo isn't small haha). So because it was under the 10th percentile she booked a scan the following day. Turns out baby is above average and all good ☺️

TheOrangeMonster · 05/05/2021 20:34

@Blossom428 good that it turned out ok in the end - that makes sense!

Yeah, I feel like antenatal care really shouldn't be this compromised (still) because of covid. My local unit had a tragedy about 6 months ago because something got missed due to them not seeing the mother in question in person. Doesn't fill me with great confidence.... 😬

I'm still not actually sure if they're ever going to measure my baby, I've got all phone calls until 37 weeks, and I feel like that's a bit late! 🤷🏼‍♀️

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 07:39

@TheOrangeMonster so you won't see your midwife at all?! How do they do your growth charts?! And like you said check bloody pressure? Would it be worth making three weekly apps with good to check blood pressure? X

@Blossom428 We went for the Nuna Mixx Bundle from John Lewis and recommend it! It’s a bit larger than what I remember in the shops but it comes with everything! Baby not here yet so haven’t taken it out and about. Worth noting the prices fluctuate on the website quite a bit so we got it for £700 with £100 voucher for spending afterwards too!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 09:15

@Blossom428 saw my midwife yest and asked about being above top percentile line! She said it just depends how they measure and where they take it from she says my measurements are well within what she would expect, and reckons I'm about 60th percentile, so yours probably measures diff too, she said as long as same midwife measures it on the same line sort of thing it's fine, it's if there is big jumps up or down with the same midwife measuring it's the time to be concerned. You'd think they'd just l measure the same!!!! X

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 09:15

@Blossom428 also how's the name hunt coming along??

OP posts:
TheOrangeMonster · 06/05/2021 11:30

@AnxiousAnnie86 apparently not until 37 week appointment! They said they're doing phone check ins until then. They haven't even mentioned growth charts, I didn't know it was a thing until you just mentioned it. I think I probably need to do some investigation now as I wasn't aware of all the things I was supposed to have and apparently won't be getting.

They even swapped my midwife to one who I've never ever spoken to randomly because the area boundaries changed - such a pain!

I think I'm going to buy a blood pressure cuff and just check my own. Some pharmacies do it too, I don't know if they still are because of covid but I can try.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 11:38

@TheOrangeMonster I would definitely do that! As if you have high blood pressure it can be so serious! I get measured blood pressure checked. Urine checked for protein every three weeks and it goes onto this app so you can see all results! They also take blood to check iron levels. I find it insane they are just leaving you too it!!! Can you call an antenatal unit at hospital? X

Blossom428 · 06/05/2021 12:00

Yeah I would defo follow up with all this @TheOrangeMonster and push for what you want! Really not good. Preclamsia can be dangerous too.

@hereforallthehelp oohh did you. Yeah there's realy not much between the oyster3 and nuna. Because we had an appointment with John Lewis they have given us a 10% off code too which is good! Alrhough now the oyster 3 is out of stock in the colour I want! And think we are swaying more to that one.

@AnxiousAnnie86 yeah it's so inaccurate with the measurements. Frustrating for parents realy having to go through worry of it. You think there would be a better way by now.
Names... gosh don't get me started haha. We've had a busy week with it being both our 30s so haven't spoken about names for. Awhile. But do need to get a move on a think more. We are both kinda hoping something will just pop up we both love haha.
How are you feeling? Really not long to go for you 😆😆😆

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 12:04

@Blossom428 oh tell me about it! I'm so over thinking about names!!! 6 weeks to go! Midwife said yest she's head down already 😱😱 my current fave is juniper! I love it with a nickname Pip or Pippin, but Nina and Heidi are being thrown around again! Which were our first names when we found out! I've honestly gone name blind! 😂 I'm getting so uncomfortable now. Since she turned its this awful pressure at the top of bump.

Happy birthday!!!! Hope you had a lovely day! Xxxx

Hi @AnxiousAnnie86 sorry I never replied to your great list of baby names! What a lovely list. My friend just had a wee girl called Elsie and she is the cutest! Heidi is cute though 😊

How’s everyone getting on?
I’m 16 weeks now and back struggling with back pain and period style cramps, which isn’t fun 😭

mabelelsie · 06/05/2021 13:42

Happy Birthday @Blossom428 x

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 13:50

@mabelelsie Heidi was our first name we thought of and loved it as our surname begins with H. But we told our parents and they absolutely hated it!!! Like with a passion! Which put us off it. But now we can't find another we love so I think why compromise because they don't like it x

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 13:51

@mabelelsie I had really bad backache around that time! Apparently it's to do with the uterus popping up and out of pelvic area! Hopefully it will ease slightly for you soon! Are you finding out the sex xxx

TheOrangeMonster · 06/05/2021 13:52

@Blossom428 Happy Birthday! 🤩

@AnxiousAnnie86 I just got off the phone with the New Midwife. She says my records are really out of date (only the 12 week info is uploaded onto there) and I've had my 20 week scan nearly two weeks ago now! She doesn't know what's happened but it seems like in the switch over with the boundary change me and a couple of others just went by the wayside, I should have had letters changing my phone appointments to in person ones and I should have had three hospital checkups come through starting at 24 weeks. She was very apologetic.

But of course me being a first timer I had no idea, imagine if you guys hadn't told me I was supposed to get this stuff - it's so dangerous and completely unacceptable. I hate complaining where the NHS is concerned, especially because my parents both work for it, but I'm wondering if I should make an official complaint now.

Went to the local pharmacy and they did my BP and it's fine, thankfully. I'm just on the elevated risk list so it's not that I've got it but more that I'm more likely to get it than a low risk pregnant woman my age. It's really unusual to have that risk too at my age and size (I'm 5'5" and pre pregnancy 59 kilos
so wouldn't have had any of this if I hadn't had the NCAH.)

Really cross now. Complete screw up with the community midwives.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 13:57

@TheOrangeMonster thank goodness you called them!!!!! Are they going to see you soon? I hope the service is corrected and made up for you now! Absolutely shocking! If you'd of missed signs of pre eclampsia it could of been so bad for you and baby! Absolutely disgusting, especially when you've already been through so much to get to this point. X

OP posts:
TheOrangeMonster · 06/05/2021 14:05

@AnxiousAnnie86 I know, I'm fuming. The midwife sounded absolutely mortified!

She's going to see me on 24th to measure, but I need to let her know if I don't get a letter in the next couple of days or my notes on the Badgernet app don't update within 24 hours.

I don't know whether to put it down to Covid or just sheer incompetence! To be honest Covid isn't really an excuse any more, it's been going on blimmin long enough they should've sorted it by now.

@mabelelsie I've had a bad back the last two weeks too, mainly when I lie in bed (which is also when the bean starts disco time).

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/05/2021 14:08

@TheOrangeMonster that's good then least you're on way to being back on track! My midwife didn't start measuring till 28 weeks. Xx

OP posts:
mabelelsie · 06/05/2021 14:46

It’s awful isn’t it @AnxiousAnnie86 & @TheOrangeMonster I thought you only got bad backache with a big bump 😂 I’m also guessing the abdominal pain is dull round ligament pain.

That’s awful, sorry you’re having to fight so much for proper care @TheOrangeMonster I’m at risk of Pre Eclampsia too and on medication as well as face to face appointments. Glad you are getting it sorted.

Blossom428 · 07/05/2021 07:48

Thank you all for the birthday wishes ☺️ had a lovely few days.

@AnxiousAnnie86 we've decided not to tell anyone our thoughts of names, precisely for that reason. Realy don't want any judgement or people saying they don't like it. Will just tell everyone once baby is here (when we have decided that is haha). Aww love Juniper. Different too which is nice!

@TheOrangeMonster oh gosh that's so bad!! Thank goodness you did check! But least they are getting things booked in for you now. Yeah I was first measured at 28weeks. Then every 3 weeks from there.
