I am starting this thread a bit early. I tested yesterday at 9dpo and got a faint positive, which was much darker today. My due date would be the 29 September, but this is my second child and my first was super late, so am assuming this will really be an October baby.

PumpkinEverything · 19/02/2021 16:10

No problem @Stardust89 😊 whenever you’re ready just send a PM and I can get you added! It’s a private group that is hidden so no need to worry that anyone will see it 😊

Hey everyone
Scared to post but feel like I need the support, just some background:
Been TTC since April 2020, had a chemical in September and got BFP on 14th Feb. My LMP was 14th Jan and i ovulated on 1st Feb (I tracked this). My cycles are not regular, anywhere between 30-37 days but I calculate this at 5+1 today based on LMP
I am super anxious and called my GP, not for a midwife referral as I don't want to jinx but to ask for a referral scan. I went to EPU yesterday and they did an internal scan and saw the gestational sac which measured at 1.7mm. She said this was small so it made me worry. Does this mean that because I have longer cycles, I'm not 5+1 (even though I know when I ovulated?) and could be nearer to 4 weeks or that my sac is really small for 5 weeks?
I haven't slept at all since I found out I'm pregnant, my husband is the same and we just cannot shift this feeling of constant worry that something is going to happen. I'm constantly checking if I have any blood.
I'm not sure if others would have had the same scan as I did to offer any thoughts but just feeling so worried and almost setting myself up for the worst to happen.

MrsTD88 · 19/02/2021 19:45

Hi @AS1188 congratulations on your pregnancy. Hoping to offer you a little bit of reassurance. I went for a scan on 03 Feb at EPAS to check sac in correct place (previous ectopic and 2 mmc). I should have been 7 weeks based on lmp but thought I'd likely be closer to 6 as have longer cycles. They found a sac and yolk sac which measured under 6 weeks. I went back on Wednesday and they found a lovely little baby and heartbeat measuring 8.4! So in those two weeks baby has grown a lot, they didn't even see a fetal pole two weeks ago! Early scans can be very unreliable and a mm can make all the difference at that stage. When is your repeat scan? Did they offer to check hcg levels?

AS1188 · 20/02/2021 10:02

@MrsTD88 thank you for your reassuring words. I'm just driving myself mad!
So it could either be that I'm developing a little slower or that I'm not as far along as I thought.

Even though everywhere says to calculate from your first day of last LMP, this surely doesn't make sense if you have longer cycles?

Gosh, it's almost like I'm trying to find something wrong. My sleeping hours improved last night though, I just need to keep occupied and know that whatever will be will be!

Thank you again for your help! X

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 11:40

@AS1188 you're very welcome, these first 12 weeks are so prolonged and full of anxiety.

Have you tried a due date calculator which takes in to account cycle length? I think the NHS one does. My dates never added up with my daughter... she measured 3 weeks behind early on! Going off of the due date I ended up with at dating scan I tested positive with her at 3+3!

Every pregnancy is different and yes, sometimes things go wrong but you're pregnant until you are told otherwise by a professional X

SP2Bx · 20/02/2021 18:07

Congratulations everybody! Hoping I’m OK to join this thread. I had my BFP on 1st Feb after feeling nauseous for 4 days (was ahead of missed period though). I was absolutely certain the first day of my last period was 6th Jan, which gave me a due date of 13th October. Fast forward a few weeks and I’d been having some spotting around the time my period SHOULD have been (putting me around 4-5 weeks) and so I was referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan at 6wks+1. Go for the scan, and everything is fine but I actually measured at 8wks+6!!! So my new due date is 24th September, but as this is my first pregnancy I’m fully prepared I could go into October, so it’s lovely to meet you all! Currently very very sick and absolutely exhausted, with what I’m pretty sure is the start of a bump already, but can’t wait to see little bambino again in 3 weeks or so at dating scan! Look forward to keeping up with all your experiences x

TTCBaby1 · 20/02/2021 19:01

So I got positive today! The other test I think I see a positive line? Please let me know your thoughts ladies... I’m driving myself insane. Would be almost 4 weeks so very early!

LunaDreams · 20/02/2021 19:47

@TTCBaby1 there is definitely a second line on the bottom one. Congratulations!

TTCBaby1 · 20/02/2021 19:51

@LunaDreams thanks lovely... so paranoid after a miscarriage and chemical preg, going to wait another week and test again eeeek!!!!

Megda7 · 20/02/2021 20:07

Hey all! I hope it’s ok to join! I’m only of the later ones for baby due October! I’m 4 1/2 weeks and due 27th October with baby no 3! I had a silent miscarriage 2 year ago so early pregnancy is always an anxious time for me! I’m starting to feel the awful bloated stage and just so tired 😴 no real sickness yet! I don’t look forward to that!!

Megda7 · 20/02/2021 20:08

@TTCBaby1 I definitely see a positive there!! It’s faint but definitely there! Congratulations to you!!! Hope the nerves settle! 😘

TTCBaby1 · 20/02/2021 20:20

@Megda7 thank you so much 😘 Working out dates and estimated due date would be Halloween! 👻

TTCBaby1 · 20/02/2021 20:27

@Megda7 sorry didn’t see your post above! Contracts to you too, ours was also a silent miscarriage. There are no words to describe the heartbreak. We are trying not to get too excited until we see our baby on a screen I think it will sink in once we reach that point... I’ve not had any symptoms yet, I had a hideous headache the other day but otherwise all ok so far xx

We're the same with trying not to get excited. No plans to tell family until we have a had an early scan.

Oh a Halloween baby!! We'll all have to have tiny little newborn costumes at the ready 🤞🏻😝
I've been so thirsty the past two days!! I can't remember that with my previous pregnancies! Dreading the morning sickness 😭

Megda7 · 20/02/2021 21:03

@PumpkinEverything

Welcome to all the newcomers!

As an FYI for those who haven’t seen the post, there are a few Facebook groups that have been made that are more active for chat. If anyone wants to join, send me a PM with the email linked to your Facebook account and I can invite you 😊

I've only new to the group here but interested in joining the Facebook page if that's ok? I can't work out how to private message you though?

Hi Ladies,

I'm in on the October babies. I think I'm 5+2 with surprise baby no 3! My other two boys are 6&7 so a much bigger age gap than before. This time I have been so exhausted since I got my positive result last weekend. I honestly don't remember feeling this awful with my other two boys. I just carried on as normal, I can hardly muster the energy to get dressed! Perhaps being mid 20's and now my mid 30's will make a difference to the symptoms? I'm more anxious something will go wrong early on this time around too. Hopefully the next few weeks fly by and we'll be reassured at our dating scan. Congrats to everyone! My current DD is 22nd October

Congratulations to you! You two boy will be such a great help for when baby arrives? How are you feeling with the surprise positive?

I'm the same! Absolutely no energy! And I'm only 4 1/2 weeks 😭 I have a 13 month old and 3 year old. So that doesn't help. Hope this is just a short phase and you get energy in the next few weeks! Any other symptoms? Xx

Sugarskulllover · 21/02/2021 16:12

I went to the toilet last night and there was a bit of blood when I wiped. Nothing else after that or this morning however, I've been to the toilet a couple of times since and again on wiping I've had some bleeding.

I did a test this morning for a bit of piece of mind and the line was very faint. I'm 4+6 today so I'm worrying myself silly. Googling non stop and stressing myself out. DH is telling me to stay positive and to call the doctors in the morning. Is there anything they would do considering it's so early on?

Stardust89 · 21/02/2021 17:28

@Sugarskulllover I heard somewhere that because your cervix will have more blood sent to it, it can be easy to get bleeding from your cervix if you knock it somehow. Try not to stress.

Congratulations @TTCBaby1

I'm also feeling tired I keep having 2 hour naps, not sure if lockdowns kind of making the tiredness worse. And super thirty don't think I've ever drunk this much water 😅

I've booked an early scan in 2 weeks, think I'll feel better once I've seen a heartbeat 💓

PumpkinEverything · 21/02/2021 19:08

Sent you a PM @Megda7 :)
Anyone else who wants added to the group, feel free to send me your email address that’s linked to your FB account in a PM and I’ll get you added!

That’s so exciting you measured ahead @SP2Bx did you have longer/shorter cycles that maybe meant the dates were different?

SussexTeacher · 21/02/2021 20:09

Hi all,

I've made some wonderful friends from my last baby through mumsnet so wanted to just say hi. I'm currently due baby number 2 on 7th October. It's almost like I've forgotten how to be pregnant and how rubbish this trimester is as it feels so long ago!

I do need to contact my GP as I'm sure I should be on the extra folic acid due to being obese 🙈.

I hope you are all well x

mooloop · 22/02/2021 18:44

Hi everybody,

Tentatively hopping on here! NHS calculator says I'm due approx 27th October and my apps say I'm 5+1 today Smile

I did the self referral form to the midwives and one of them phoned me today to get me on the maternity notes app and book my first appointment. I've got a telephone appt on the 14th March and then a face to face one on the 16th March. Wondering how to approach asking work for time off for the 16th without looking too suspicious 🙈

Hope everybody else is doing OK, hoping we all have healthy safe pregnancies and little October bundles 🤞🏻🍀❤️
