Hey ladies,

Just thought it might be a nice idea for any of us first time mums just finding out to have a thread to chat on.

I found out Monday and am now 4+4.

Yes very @Babynum1! I'm 6+1. In the last couple of weeks, I have sore boobs and nausea (but no vomiting). I'm bloated, have diarrhoea some mornings & just feel really tired. Sometimes get lower back pain and occasional cramps.
Really want to hear back from my self-referral to get my first appointment date. I have booked an early scan for next week as it feels so long to wait for week 12!

Babynum1 · 21/01/2021 20:39

@unicornpower congratulations Smile this is what I had but it was only for one day. I’ve also had lots of tummy activity but it seems to have settled ( or I’ve gotten used to it haha). We’ve been trying since October 2019. Were you trying long before
You conceived? I know exactly what you mean we got our scan date which is the 12 March and it seems so far away! Xx

hippinghen · 21/01/2021 20:46

Sorry if this is tmi but but worried. I'm just four weeks and have watery pale yellow discharge. Is this normal? Anyone else same?

Babynum1 · 21/01/2021 20:46

@Taybz thank you and congratulations to you too! I think around the 22nd of September (google helped me work that out Grin) I had really sore boobs and the slightest bit of implantation bleeding which lasted for a day and just this overwhelming feeling of knowing I was pregnant. My only symptoms now are early morning insomnia, I wake up at 3am every night even after a busy day, and then seem to settle back down about 5/6am ( maybe my body trying to prepare me for sleep deprivation to come haha!) I have feelings of nausea but not actually been sick although I have noticed this seems to be around the time I take my pregnacare vitamins so I guess it could just be that. I’m pretty tired most of the time now and cry at EVERYTHING, I sobbed the other day because I was happy haha. I’ve also got a really watery mouth! What symptoms have/are you having? X

hippinghen · 21/01/2021 20:47

@BabyVadera congrats! I'm exactly the same due date as you and first baby xx

Babynum1 · 21/01/2021 21:00

@Bubbles1st congratulations Smile the sore boobs have been the worst for my. My poor partner rolled over and touched them in the night he very nearly slept on the floor that night haha Grin

Babynum1 · 21/01/2021 21:03

@AdventuresAwait I think sometimes just feeling sick is worse than the actually sickness itself! Have you tried ginger biscuits (very cliche I know) I find these do help to settle my stomach if I’m feeling a little sickly! Ooh!! I didn’t even realise you could get early scans! How do I go about doing this? X

Babynum1 · 21/01/2021 21:05

@hippinghen I have been having a lot more discharge but it has been quite milky in colour and quite watery I believe this is normal in the early stages Smile congratulations xx

AdventuresAwait · 21/01/2021 21:27

@Babynum1, yes true! I bought some ginger biscuits and am going to try them.
I heard about early scans on here and looked online to find places near to me. They are private places and prices range. I was going to wait but decided to book one in the end as I can't wait 6 more weeks!

Mamamccarts · 21/01/2021 21:40

@AdventuresAwait how much was your scan, they range here from £60 to near £200

AdventuresAwait · 21/01/2021 21:44

@Mamamccarts, hi - there was a range but mine is 70.

H3llie · 21/01/2021 21:50

@unicornpower that is exactly how I’m feeling - churning stomach and can’t tell if I feel sick or starving! I’m just 8 weeks but been like this a couple of weeks.
Sorry to hear about your mc - same time as mine. Keeping everything crossed for this one 🙏

Hi ladies, for those asking about scans, Window to the Womb do it for £49 despite it being advertised as £79. They've also got great reviews. I'm trying to decide between their viability scan and dating scan which can both be done around the 8th week mark. The viability scan can actually be done from 6 weeks but I phoned them and they said it won't show as much as 8 weeks.

Taybz · 21/01/2021 22:44

@Babynum1 I've got waves of nausea at the moment, come to think of it they start after I take pregnacare liquid. That's really odd because I used to take it before when I wasn't pregnant and never had this symptom. I'm also knackered all the time and feel drowsy.

I'm sure when I read the descriptions is the viability and the dating scan the wording was the same. Is there a difference? Or when a bit further a long they can literally give a due date?
Taybz · 21/01/2021 23:16

@Bubbles1st the details exactly the same, just in a different order. Don't understand the difference myself except the date part (viability from 6wks, dating from 8 wks). I'm giving them a ring tomorrow and will update here 😊 Are you getting one done? Sorry if you've mentioned it already, it's hard to keep track of what everyone's said, especially now with pregnancy brain!

Bubbles1st · 21/01/2021 23:29

@Taybz
I know it's hard I have no idea who said what but know I've seen it!
Wasn't planning on having one as nearest one is 45mins away and a trek I just feel I can do without. Also not a fan of the idea of the transvaginal scan - could it be a male doing it?!
However... the next 6 weeks are going to be real slow so I am getting more tempting, I know next week those in here will be sharing their scan stories.

I haven't even got a booking appointment yet, I have to call again tomorrow, so I hope that having that appointment will help bridge the gap.

I guess the more sad stories I read the more I feel I would like reassurance now rather waiting 6 more weeks and the potential of a mmc

Would love to know what they say when you speak to them tomorrow.

mrandmrslobster · 21/01/2021 23:56

@Taybz

One day after taking a test and getting a positive and I'm already impatient for the 12 week scan! Just want to feel like I know everything is ok. At the moment I just can't believe I'm pregnant. I don't have any symptoms whatsoever so I can't believe it's true. Even though 3 tests have confirmed it !

Taybz · 22/01/2021 00:13

@mrandmrslobster this is exactly how I feel! I can't believe I'm actually preggers! I've taken over 8 tests now. I know that raving mad haha. I'm also taking them every other day to make sure hcg levels are still showing up.

@Bubbles1st believe me, I admire your resilience. I'd happily wait until 12 weeks if I could but I know I don't have that patience! Will update you about the scan chat as soon as I talk to them.

Yknl · 22/01/2021 01:23

Hi all
Just read through this entire thread seeing that I can’t sleep and I’ve joined mumsnet just to ask if I can join Smile
Due date 21st September and I’m 5 weeks 4 days today. So relieved to read through all the different symptoms. I’m almost 36 and this is my first pregnancy after 2 very unsuccessful rounds of ivf that didn’t even make it to egg collection. We’d totally given up and weren’t trying at all so still in shock! So good to be able to talk about it as only told my mum so far! Hope you’re all doing well xx

hippinghen · 22/01/2021 04:18

@Yknl I'm with you I feel like I've seen every hour of tonight and wide awake!!

AdventuresAwait · 22/01/2021 06:22

Congratulations @Yknl!

unicornpower · 22/01/2021 08:08

@H3llie im so sorry about yours too, it definitely takes the enjoyment out of early pregnancy doesnt it? When my friend got pregnant she bought a babygrow and gave it to her husband and did a big reveal and I just couldn't dare do that now! I wonder when I'll stop closing my eyes when I go to the toilet? Haha are you coping okay?

I think the viability scan is just to see if everything is where it should be and if there's a heartbeat? The dating scan i THINK they can tell you an accurate due date as baby is bigger x

unicornpower · 22/01/2021 08:10

@Yknl congratulations! What wonderful news! Thats an amazing story! How are you feeling?

unicornpower · 22/01/2021 08:19

@Babynum1 oh thats good then! Im sure it's nothing to worry about! Our bodies do strange things sometimes! The midwives told me not to worry and even light bleeding is common in early pregnancy, especially around the time your period is due.

We were trying for 14 months all in all which felt an age, we conceived in May 2020 but had a MC in the June and then my cycles were weird for a month or two so I think it took us another 5 months which seemed forever.

Does anyone else not have sore boobs? Mine feel fine but im worried as everyone else seems to! I have nausea and have been sick a couple of times but sometimes I wonder if thats nerves too! Areeghhhhh why is it such a minefield
