How old is your LO @jwl45? I've been thinking getting one of those seats for my LO. He sits on me but has no balance yet, I thought they had to be sitting unaided for the seats? Can I ask how much it was?

Nappywise we are using an eco brand called Pura. They are a little more expensive than regular nappies but are made of biodegradable material and are really thick and absorbent. It makes me feel better about my carbon footprint as reusable were a little too much work for me. We supplement with Aldi ones where we need to as we order the Pura ones online?

@Pinktruffle Hi. This was £49.99 from argos. Its suitable from 3 months or when baby can hold his/her head. She can't sit unaided .... sits with us or with cushions for support, but this is nice and snug and comes up at the back for support. She loves it . It will last ages too as the inner seat can be removed and the two trays.

@Pinktruffle do you use the Pura wipes at all? How do you find them? I found them really difficult to pull from packet without them ripping. And my pack had a funny smell.

I’m so tired! My baby isn’t even a bad sleeper I think I just find it exhausting being with her 24:7 pretty much on my own. I can’t wait for baby groups or to be able to go to a nice cafe. So little interaction with anyone, I think that’s what I’m struggling with the most.

kkr168 · 24/02/2021 17:42

@peachypetite I'm feeling exactly the same, imagine we all are.
All being well baby groups should restart 12th April but limited numbers, so imagine we'll have to keep an eye out for when bookings open & book asap. We've been doing baby massage at home but it is not the same at all!!
We've booked a couple of weekend breaks to Haven, 1 in may & 1 in june, cannot wait. Just the change of scenery will be enough for me!

viixie · 24/02/2021 19:21

Has anyone been offered the vaccine ? I have due to a condition I have but I am still breastfeeding so this has thrown a spanner in the works 😬

Jellycat2020 · 24/02/2021 19:23

@peachypetite yep, knackered here too! I'm looking forward to buying a takeaway coffee and sitting in the park when we're out on our walks, when the weather gets warmer. And just being able to have her out in our garden. I've had my first Covid vaccination now, so feeling happier about being able to meet up with people when we can.

NaomiB79 · 24/02/2021 20:28

@peachypetite I feel exactly the same! I came to bed with the baby tonight and will be asleep soon. It's exhausting being with them all day on your own. Hopefully meeting up with friends and family or going to baby classes aren't too far off x

Kj1010 · 24/02/2021 21:00

I feel.like that but not every day my lo since monday has gone backwards again sleeping for few hours waking for bottle restless during the day to like 5/10 min naps feel a bit drained physically and emotionally finally thought I started my second period but seems to have stopped also so annoying as I've had pains for a few weeks and late anyway

Pinktruffle · 24/02/2021 23:31

@jwl45 awww how cute! Thank you, I think I need to invest in one. My son is holding his head up and pushes himself to sit up all the time, he just doesn't quite have the balance yet.

I haven't used Pura wipes as I invested in Cheeky Wipes which I love. I have some Water Wipes but only use them for big poos or if we are out (so once at the midwifes surgery).

My LO had his second jabs today, he seems better than last time so far, just very sleepy all day. He slept 7 hours 11 mins last night and self settled after his feed for the first time at 5.30am. I'm hoping for similar tonight but might be wishing a bit much!

@peachypetite I share your feelings. I need to socialise and see people, go to a baby class, do something which is not just sitting at home or going for a walk. I'm desperate to see friends and family again and for my little one to meet them, I'm genuinely worried he will cry when he goes to anyone but me and DH. I also can't bloody wait to be vaccinated yet but think it'll be a while till it's my turn.

EithneBlue · 25/02/2021 08:26

@viixie - it's considered safe while breastfeeding so it's fine to get :-) The risk from Covid is definitely greater! Breastfeeding Network is a good place to look for clarification :-)

peachypetite · 26/02/2021 06:14

@Jellycat2020 could you link to the wand?

Jellycat2020 · 26/02/2021 08:39

@peachypetite we got ours from amazon - it looks like the one we got is no longer available but you can search on there for 'fibre optic wand'

Jwl45 · 26/02/2021 09:49

Well I think our sleep pattern is out the window .... for the moment anyway. We have gone from sleeping through from 8/9pm ish until 4/5 am for feed... to waking about 1.30am / 3 am... not for food, quick cuddles and she's back asleep. Thinking possibly a growth spurt,(she's 4 months on Monday) or i did read not getting enough naps in the day or not actually finishing a nap properly. This is quite possible as she has literally been cat napping. I always thought if they slept too much in day, they wouldn't sleep at night - according to what I've read, this is not the case. Not complaining, I don't think I slept properly when she was sleeping through anyway lol asni was waiting for her to want food.
Is anyone else's little one around the same age not waking for food?

peachypetite · 26/02/2021 10:05

@Jwl45 I have heard a lot about a four month sleep regression. My baby is sleeping like a dream at night (three months) and I’m terrified all of a sudden she’s going to start randomly waking up!

Jwl45 · 26/02/2021 10:47

@peachypetite that must be it!! I will Google that! Elsi was sleeping like a dream too... I think its a little shock to the system here 🤣 Although I will say she's not grouchy or anything. I fed her at 6.55 this morning she slept then until 9.30! 🤣

kkr168 · 26/02/2021 12:26

Tommy has 7+ hour stretches overnight now, I've started to dream feed him when I go to bed, which was 11pm last night & he woke at 6:30am.
He then has a feed & goes back to sleep for around 1 hour.

He's had his 12 week jabs today, poor baby was fast asleep & they made me wake him up to have the oral medicine 1st. I don't think I've ever heard him scream so loud before!! He cried the whole way home before passing out.

I have the hospital at 4:15, I'm dreading it. They found a large cyst on my ovary at the EPU when I miscarried, I then fell pregnant with Tommy so the next scan was delayed. They did check it briefly at my 12 week scan & said there was a cyst but it was small, so shouldn't be anything to worry about, but you cant help but worry.

Jellycat2020 · 26/02/2021 22:01

@kkr168 I've had an ovarian cyst and it really was nothing to worry about. It disappeared on its own. But I hope your appointment went OK x

alphabetti · 26/02/2021 22:02

@MaverickDanger when my daughter was 5weeks old she had a really bad nappy rash that would not clear. Dr gave her a steroid cream and zinc and castor oil barrier cream. Steroid cream just made it bleed but the zinc and castor oil cleared it up quickly and gave her a peachy soft bum again!

kkr168 · 26/02/2021 22:11

@Jellycat2020 it went ok, it's still there but hasn't grown/shrunk at all since December 2019 when it was 1st found. I have to go back for annual scans now.

Tommy's not been himself today after having his jabs, very upset & tired. He ended up with a temperature so had to give him some Calpol, hopefully he's back to his usual happy self tomorrow.

Jellycat2020 · 26/02/2021 22:51

@kkr168 our little girl was the same after her second jabs. Probably took her about 3 days to fully get over it but we only needed Calpol the once.

NaomiB79 · 27/02/2021 05:21

@Jwl45 this sounds like the 4 month regression unfortunately. We are going through it just now too and my little girl is just turning four months. She was sleeping great 8pm til 4ish then a quick feed and back to sleep til after 7am. We are currently on our 5th wake up of the night and she's done this a few times this week and last week 🙈. It seems so much harder this time compared to when they were newborn because you get used to getting a decent sleep!

Fingers crossed it doesn't last long and our babies are sleeping good again soon xx

Snowwhite2020 · 27/02/2021 10:58

@NaomiB79 oh no... I am dreading this regression as the newborn sleep was a nightmare and only getting up once a night so much easier..... hi to everyone and sorry for not being on much recently. Life with a newborn is quite hectic isn’t it! Thanks for ideas on toys- the fibre optic wand and the seat they can play in look great. We have a finding memo play mat which she absolutely loves and is giving her lots of good stimulation www.amazon.co.uk/Disney-Baby-Ocean-Lights-Activity/dp/B0036RKGHQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=finding+nemo+play+mat&sprefix=finding+nemo&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1614423458&sr=8-1

Jwl45 · 27/02/2021 11:10

@NaomiB79 yes... you're right, you do get used to your sleep. She was better last night. Hubby brought her into our bed for a cuddle - put her back when she was totally asleep. She wasn't too bad then, just unsettled in the cot. I fed and changed her at 6 ish and then she went back to sleep until 9. I don't know about your little
one, but Elsi has certainly found her voice.
I am loving the babbling and the noises... and the almost shouting she does.... soo funny. She's really coming into her own little character now. It's very funny to watch🥰

NaomiB79 · 27/02/2021 15:48

@Jwl45 glad Elsi had a better night last night, hopefully you get a few more of them.

Quinn is the same she babbles away all the time now trying to find her voice and is definitely developing her own wee personality. I do find it funny when I see my own traits shining through too in her character (in our case my lack of patience 🙈🤣). They grow so quickly I can't believe we are four months in already. I'm starting to prepare for weaning in a couple of months bought some books and bits and pieces so just getting my head around it all in preparation. I love food so can't wait to see how she goes trying out different things.

@Snowwhite2020 good to hear from you - I agree life it pretty hectic. Glad you are well and fingers crossed the 4 month regression isn't as tough as some people say it is! X
