@Pinktruffle our lo had her second vaccinations yesterday and we did end up giving Calpol as she was unsettled, had a very sore leg and spiked a mild fever. Seems not too bad today though hasn't slept much in naps. She was similar last time but without the fever, presumably because we'd already given the Calpol.

peachypetite · 18/02/2021 09:44

Hi all. Baby has had her second lot of jabs and was fine but just quite lethargic and sleepy. She’s almost three months and things are definitely getting easier. She is doing five hours at night now so sleep isn’t as broken as it was.

lionsmum · 18/02/2021 11:18

@Pinktruffle thank you so much for your kind message, it was so lovely to read. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, I was having some time off as I hadn't been feeling myself, but I can say this week things are looking up thankfully. Always so sad to read about others losing babies, it happens way more often than people think. I was so unaware to it before we lost our son. Yes that's what we are going to do too, very much want to keep him part of our family and celebrate him the way we would any of our other children, no matter how many more we have. It's a constant learning process. Thank you xx

I hope everyone and their LO's are well, it's amazing to see the changes in them from newborn-3 months, it's so surreal!

MLAC2021 · 19/02/2021 08:04

Hi ladies, loobeelou here (name change). Hope you are all doing well. Not been on in a while, took sometime for us to adjust to family of 4!
DD is 7 weeks old today and doing great. DS took a bit of time getting used to her but is much better now.

Not had a period yet, but it was nearly a year before I had one after DS. He was combi-fed for first 6 months and then i dropped the breastfeeding and he had formula. DS is EBF.
I did have the coil fitted on Tuesday, no more babies here 😂

Kj1010 · 19/02/2021 10:45

Morning all so my lo doing well in regards to sleeping we went a bit backwards last week the waking every few hours but now back to 5 hours blocks still waiting on my second period got the pains just nothing happening was due on on 16th also can I ask how many ounces ur baby's drink my lo is nearly 11 weeks old on hungrier baby milk but is still on 5 ounces dont know really if he shud be on more for 11 weeks he is gaining weight nearly 14lb now just not sure

kkr168 · 19/02/2021 16:44

Anyone else's baby currently going through the 3rd leap, its like he's suddenly bi polar, goes from happy & laughing to crying in seconds. Think were almost over the worst of it, although I've looked up the 4th leap & OMG it looks like it goes on forever!!
He has his 12 week jabs tuesday, he was fine after the 1st lot so hopefully this time will be the same.

@Kj1010 my sons 11 weeks too & only drinks 3-4oz, he usually has 20-25oz per day. I've no idea if its enough but he has plenty of wet nappies & is gaining weight, so i'm assuming its fine.
He weighed 5.52kg on the 10th feb, I think that equates to 12.2lb & on the 17th feb he weighed 5.76kg, roughly 12.7lb. If I'm calculating it right he's gained 5oz in a week, the average is 5-7oz, so he's on track.

Kj1010 · 19/02/2021 16:54

@kkr168 ahh ok feel better now lol I dont get the leaps thing tbh but does sound like my lo going through the 3rd leap as he does what ur explaining with ur lo does where can I read up on this lol

Anotherboy · 19/02/2021 17:19

My LO had 12 week jabs (at 13 weeks) yesterday. He was totally fine and slept for a 9 hour stretch last night! Not expecting that again any time soon Grin

peachypetite · 19/02/2021 19:17

Hi all. My baby is 12 weeks and has 5oz about every four hours, longer at night. She’s also in leap 3 @kkr168 know what you mean! So I’ve stopped breastfeeding, had previously been doing mixed feeding.

Yellowbeansontoast · 19/02/2021 21:32

My boy is drinking anywhere between 4 and 8oz! He's EBF but recently we've had to start giving him expressed milk from a bottle as for some reason he's been refusing the boob. He takes it fine at night but has been really hit and miss in the day, especially in the evenings. I think it might be where he's previously gotten used to my crazy letdown, he now gets impatient as my supply is finally adjusting.

Jwl45 · 20/02/2021 00:43

We are 14 weeks here and on 6ounces of formula... every three hours. Sometimes 2and half of shes slept for a longer period of time. At night, she has last bottle between 7 and 9 ish usually and then feed about 4ish-6ish am. (Breast)

peachypetite · 20/02/2021 06:49

@viixie breastfeeding does kill your sex drive. From the NCT website
thanks to falling oestrogen levels making you feel dryer than usual and lowered progesterone lowering your libido. All of which means your sex life may not be top of its game.

I’m hoping mine will return now I’ve stopped!

viixie · 20/02/2021 13:59

@peachypetite thanks for the info. Still continuing to breastfeed at the moment. Hopeful it'll return after as at the moment I feel as though my vagina has fallen off 🙈🤣

Jellycat2020 · 20/02/2021 17:58

We're on around 6oz (180ml - 200ml) every 3-4 hours but she'll go 8 hours overnight. Apparently they ought to have 150-200ml/kg over 24 hours according to our health visitor.

peachypetite · 20/02/2021 18:48

@Jellycat2020 wow that’s amazing!!

Kj1010 · 21/02/2021 09:46

Morning all I weighed my lo as I've still not had any contact from health visitor at all and he goes 13lb 4 and is 11 weeks tomorrow I'm happy as been reading on average they should be 14lb at 3 months so he isnt far behind if that is the average also look how fast it's going ladies

peachypetite · 21/02/2021 09:51

@Kj1010 I think the weight is more about the lines on the graph and not dropping down too many. My baby is three months and barely 10lbs!

Kj1010 · 21/02/2021 09:58

@peachypetite ah ok well I dont know where he is on the lines as I've had zero contact from health visitor since he was 11 days old so just weighing myself but I dont have any concerns really as he isnt dropping he eats well and a happy baby in general

peachypetite · 21/02/2021 09:59

@Kj1010 in your red book there is a chart where you can plot it. Baby should have been weighed once a month. As far as I know you used to be able to go the clinic whenever you wanted but I’ve been ringing the health service dor my area (not my specific HV) and they book me in to the clinic. Then I can request a phone call after to discuss it.

Kj1010 · 21/02/2021 10:04

@peachypetite ah ok well the few clinics in my area look shut but will try and find the number and give a call and see what's happening as my hv did say at phone call clinics were closed quite useless tbh but I live in a crappy area tbh

peachypetite · 21/02/2021 10:08

@Kj1010 definitely call them and say it’s not acceptable your baby hasn’t been weighed. They are closed where I am in the sense you can’t just turn up but I don’t see how they can say no to weighing a young baby! I requested more regular ones due to having quite a lot of issues around feeding and they have booked me in no problem.

Kj1010 · 21/02/2021 10:18

@peachypetite I think the whole care process from pregnancy to birth and after has been very poor tbh I mean I cant fault the staff at the hospital on the day I had my csection but that's it I just hope for all the women pregnant now etc get better care and that partners etc can be more involved

kkr168 · 21/02/2021 13:49

@kj1010 I assumed we weren't allowed to write on the weight graphs in the red book, thought only drs or HV were allowed but the Dr said as I'm weighing him myself she's happy for me to do it. Just keep an eye on which centile line he's following & alert someone if he suddenly goes onto a new line.

What nappies is everyone using? We were using Pampers & they are fab but costly.
Tried Sainsbury's own brand, he leaked straight through them. Tried Tesco own brand yesterday & had to change him twice overnight because he'd leaked urine, it's like they only hold 1 wee?

peachypetite · 21/02/2021 13:53

@Kj1010 me too. Very hit and miss. @kkr168 we use aldi and they are great. My baby is small and still in newborn though. Maybe go up a size at night?

kkr168 · 21/02/2021 14:12

@peachypetite with Tesco's I went up a size, the 1st overnight change his back was soaked yet the nappy didn't appear to have a single drop in it, how's that even possible?? It's not as if the nappy was to big & gaping either! My SIL has said she's had no issues with lidls, but had leaking with tesco & Asda nappies.
