We are co sleeping as my lo wouldnt settle he can go between 4 to 6 hours with solid sleep if we even try to put him in crib he awake and like you wont settle the only other place he will sleep for a hour or so is his bouncer but obviously you cant let them sleep in it all night etc so for me I'd rather the good nights sleep than the constant waking for both of us all mine slept with me and oh and we have never had a problem of them sleeping in there own proper bed when the time comes finally registered him Thursday so he is paper official lol also anyone else only just had a bit of hanky pank y me and oh only just have from when I was pregnant he didnt want to have sex while I was pregnant as said felt wrong well didnt last long on his part pmsl but was worth the long drought dont know why some men thinks it's wrong to have sex while the women is pregnant

lc86 · 13/02/2021 17:45

@Kj1010 we had sex for the first time this week too, think we only did 2 or 3 times when I was pregnant as OH was the same x

lc86 · 13/02/2021 17:46

LO slept 11-7 the other night! Was a total fluke though and hasn't since 😭

Kj1010 · 13/02/2021 17:55

@lc86 they are strange at times men lol my lo generally has a bottle at 9ish sleeps till bout 12has a bottle straight back to sleep then wakes between 5/6 ish sometimes 7 but it's much better than before when he was waking every hour then like every few so the waking once in the night/early hours is bliss but some how I still find my self knackered lol

lc86 · 13/02/2021 17:59

Oh yes it's much better just waking up once! Our LO tends to wake anytime between 3-5am and then about 7:30.. I wouldn't go back to the 'newborn' phase if someone paid me!! xx

viixie · 13/02/2021 18:13

@Kj1010 we haven't had sex yet nearly 8 weeks pp. I was always interested before but now have 0 sex drive 😩 does anyone know if breastfeeding does this to you? I think I'm broken

lc86 · 13/02/2021 18:25

@viixie not sure if breastfeeding would do it, but I know I'm petrified of getting pregnant which affected my mood for a while! Funny that before the baby all we wanted to do was to get pregnant lol xx

Kj1010 · 13/02/2021 18:29

@viixie I'm not sure either as bottle feed I dont have to worry about the getting pregnant bit I was steralised after they delivered my lo

kkr168 · 13/02/2021 20:07

@Kj1010 that's good to hear that they settled in there own bed eventually, this is my biggest worry, I don't want to be co sleeping with a 5 year old!!
My other son always slept in his crib/cot but then he wasn't a poorly baby.
I think I'm going to try every night to at least start with him in his own crib, I've given up trying currently & just put him straight into our bed, hopefully he'll eventually settle in it.

kkr168 · 13/02/2021 20:13

@viixie I also have zero sex drive at the moment, I think it's pretty normal, looking after babies on top of housework, etc is exhausting. Co sleeping is also a big mood killer for us lol.
We had sex for the 1st time at 6 weeks pp & although I really wasn't interested I did enjoy it.

Pinktruffle · 13/02/2021 20:44

My LO has a decent sleeping pattern at night but always has the odd night of crap sleep. He slept 10.30pm till 7am the other night, it was amazing!

DH and I have not had sex since before I got pregnant (your not allowed to during IVF) so it's been almost a year. He was worried about having sex during pregnancy and I wasn't in the mood after my C-section but feel ready to do it again now. What are those of you who need it doing for contraception?

kkr168 · 13/02/2021 20:59

I'm on a waiting list to have the contraceptive implant, I've been told there's a huge back log so I'll be waiting a while. In the mean time I'm taking the pill (cerazette).

lc86 · 13/02/2021 21:20

I've gone on the mini pill but OH is having a vasectomy once the world returns to normal. I do wish I'd been sterilised after my csection tbh but didn't really consider it at the time

Anotherboy · 14/02/2021 08:00

We're not, we want our third and final one asap Grin

NaomiB79 · 14/02/2021 09:10

I had a coil fitted when I had my section but when the doctor checked it at our 6 week check she couldn't feel the strings!! I now have to go for an ultrasound to find out where it is! Thank god we didn't assume everything was okay and just have sex as I could've ended up pregnant again! I've never had the coil before so didn't even know this could happen. It may have fallen out with all the post birth bleeding but the ultrasound on Wednesday will confirm 🙈🙈.

MySafeSpace · 14/02/2021 14:38

@kkr168 I'm on that pill too, sorry if it's too personal but have you experienced any bleeding with it? Also are you bf (sorry if I should know this)? I've had a lot of bleeding and also bf now really hurts and my baby doesn't feed as well as he used to (is super fussy). Just wondering if the pill is affecting him and the boobs or if it's the time of the month that's affecting it?
I've been on this pill before pregnancy and didn't experience any bleeding before but I understand it could just be my hormones adjusting

kkr168 · 14/02/2021 17:15

@MySafeSpace no that's fine, I've had 2 periods since starting the pill, I bleed no matter what contraception I use.
I'm not breast feeding, I did for the 1st 3 weeks then gave up as things weren't going well. He had awful reflux, wanted to feed constantly & then would cry as soon as he drank. I thought the issue was my milk, turns out he's allergic to dairy, which we only found out after he reacted badly to formula.

MySafeSpace · 14/02/2021 17:23

@kkr168 oh no that's rubbish you experience bleeding whatever you use. I'm hoping it's just my hormones settling down then. Thank you for getting back to me tho

Pinktruffle · 14/02/2021 18:00

My periods have been very light since having my little one, I'm currently having my second one and expected it to be more 'normal' but it isn't.

I'm really unsure as to what to do regarding contraception. I really don't want to go on hormonal contraception (the pill) but long term methods such as the coil arent really worth it I think as due to my age, we will probably start trying again towards the end of the year. Seems like condoms are the only real option.

alphabetti · 14/02/2021 21:00

@Pinktruffle I was given the mini pill after speaking to Dr at 8wk check (my Drs combined 6wk check with 8wk baby vaccinations). I had previously been on pill and was unsure about taking anything else as am breastfeeding and just thought of react badly least can just stop. It’s only in last week baby has slept more than an hour at night though so we have just enjoyed getting proper sleep now so have t started taking them yet but will do.

I haven’t had a period yet. Am EBF so perhaps that’s why,

kkr168 · 15/02/2021 08:50

Tommy's new medicine seems to be the final piece to our puzzle, lansoprazole & cmpa milk has been a game changer!!
It's day 3 of him being on the lansoprazole, 1st day I didn't notice much difference, 2nd day he slept for 6 hours straight, last night was night 3 & we conquered what seemed like an impossible task........he slept in his own bed, all night!!!!
All reflux symptoms have gone, he doesn't seem in pain at all, he only cried once yesterday when I took to long making his bottle.
Long may this continue

Jwl45 · 15/02/2021 09:23

Hi all. Mini pill for me whilst still breast feeding then will move onto those rods. At the moment breastfeeding at night only. Haven't had a period yet.

Jellycat2020 · 15/02/2021 20:13

@kkr168 that's fantastic news! Congratulations! 😊 Long may it continue indeed!

Pinktruffle · 16/02/2021 16:28

Second vaccine day next week, I'm dreading it as LO was really upset and unsettled for nearly 24 hours after the last one and the second one is the one they usually get ill after so I'm expecting him to be even worse!

Jwl45 · 17/02/2021 08:26

@Pinktruffle aw sorry to hear little one was unsettled. We had our second last week... I was all ready to get the calpol out and the nurse said it wasn't needed this time - unless I thought she needed it. (Where as on the first lot we had to give every 4 hrs x3) due to not having i thinknit was the mmr the second time round so maybe your little one will be ok this time xx
