Well yesterday afternoon my son's reflux returned with a vengeance, it seems as though the fussiness over the past 4 days has been a slow build up, the only new thing introduced was the lactulose medicine which we've since stopped. Surprisingly he had his best night last night, I was expecting it to be rough but he slept for 4 1/2 hours, had a bottle, took a while to settle after but then slept for 4 1/2 hours again.
I'm really hoping his new milk works miracles!

Trufflepuffpuff · 21/01/2021 14:13

Hi @kkr168 my baby's reflux has got worse this week too (10 weeks). I thought she was going to choke yesterday... what milk are you trying? I'm about to try anti reflux milk but I'm a bit anxious about the prep method. The doctor advised me to try it though...

kkr168 · 21/01/2021 15:09

@Trufflepuffpuff the Dr has prescribed SMA alfamino because they suspect he's allergic to cows milk. We have tried aptimal anti reflux, he refused to drink it as it's very thick, his most recent milk was aptamil comfort which isn't designed for reflux but helped with my son's. I think that's just because it is also a bit thicker then regular milk, although not as thick as the reflux milk.
The preparation of the reflux milk was a pain, it seems a long wait when they're hungry.

MaverickDanger · 22/01/2021 02:31

90 mins and counting to get him to sleep. He’s just soaked through three layers & then proceeded to shit and piss on the carpet, somehow completely bypassing the changing mat.

I’m now going to have at least another 45 mins of trying to get him off to sleep & poor DH needs to be up in four hours.

peachypetite · 22/01/2021 05:43

@MaverickDanger oh no! Just what you need. My little one has been sleeping so much better at night the last two weeks. But she’s just started her next leap and it’s taking her longer to get to sleep which seems normal for this leap. Just rocked her for an hour to help her and was the same earlier.

Kj1010 · 22/01/2021 08:32

@MaverickDanger oh no feel your pain well lo slept better last night wasnt a up whinging all night etc let's see what today brings

viixie · 22/01/2021 12:56

We are suffering with reflux/sleep deprivation here too 💤 has anyone tried carobel before ?

Pinktruffle · 23/01/2021 08:21

My LO slept 1am till 7.20 last night, my body is in shock at getting so much sleep! I don't know if it's a one off but more of this please!

Charl88 · 23/01/2021 08:55

@Pinktruffle that's amazing!!! We're just starting to get to 3.5hours overnight.... slowly getting longer😂

peachypetite · 23/01/2021 09:22

@Pinktruffle fab! I’m pleased to say my baby is now consistently going four hours between feeds including at night and the difference it makes to sleep is unreal.

MaverickDanger · 23/01/2021 09:35

Ahh amazing, gives me hope!

I had DS in bed with us from 2am till now & he woke up for a 45 min feed & change at about 4.45am, so feel like co sleeping might be the way to go.

lc86 · 23/01/2021 10:26

The last 2 nights our lo has slept 6 hours 🙌🏼 please may it continue!! x

lc86 · 23/01/2021 10:27

@MaverickDanger you have to do what works for you 😊

Jwl45 · 23/01/2021 10:57

Fab sleep stories ladies. .we are very fortunate in that Elsi has been sleeping around the 4/ 5 HR mark a good while. (Just wriggly after being put down at 4 but still fast asleep)
Last night however, last bottle was at 8-45 .... I was convinced she would wake 11/12 for breast... But no. Slept through until 3-45. Then another 3 hours ... Up at 7 for feed. (She's guaranteed to be bang on 3 hrs for that morning one!) Hubby also has a rare day off! So he brought her down at 8 (she was still asleep!) So that I could have a lovely lie in! 🙂

Bigredriding · 23/01/2021 17:05

So jealous of all this sleep! Last night he was up every 1.5 hours and he’s been feeding that often through the day too. He’s also back to mainly crying when he’s awake..! Just had a look and he’s starting a leap, so I guess I feel better that there’s an explanation. Glad some sleep is being had by some of you!

lc86 · 23/01/2021 17:19

@Bigredriding aww that sounds horrible!! My lo is due another leap in a few days so I'm trying to enjoy the peace for now lol xx

NaomiB79 · 23/01/2021 18:21

So tonight my little girl is staying overnight with my MIL for the first time! She's 12 weeks tomorrow and is really close to my MIL as we are in a bubble with her. She recently stayed with us for 2 weeks when my DP was recovering from his operation and Quinn got really close to her then. On one hand it's been lovely so far to have a few hours to myself to dye my hair, shave my legs and do some other self care things and for me and DP to eat dinner together uninterrupted and with two hands 🤣. I'm doing a virtual gin tasting with friends at 8pm and can't wait for a full uninterrupted night of sleep!

I am however constantly wondering how she is (even tho I'm getting regular updates) and praying she is good through the night and not upset because she is missing us xx

Kj1010 · 23/01/2021 18:45

@MaverickDanger we have had our lo in with us now for a bout 3 weeks now as he just would not settle in his moses basket would wake every hour or so so we wasnt getting any sleep and we just couldn't bear it but since his been with us it's so much better dont get me wrong we do have some nights like last night where he was waking every few hours for a bottle but wud only drink 2 to 3 ounces but that hasn't happened for a while I think some babies just dont take to moses baskets etc so for now his with us when he is a little bigger I might try the travel cot we got to see if he is comfortable in that until we get him a bed etc@naomiB79 sounds lovely enjoy ur night it's great that you have that bubble and can do that

lc86 · 23/01/2021 19:41

@NaomiB79 I'm soooo jealous!! Enjoy every minute! Lo will be fine xx

kkr168 · 23/01/2021 21:33

@viixie we've tried carobel in my son's new milk as it's so thin & was making his reflux worse, unfortunately he's had a reaction (rash) to it so we've had to stop using it. Apparently.that means he's probably allergic to soya as well as cows milk 🤦🏻‍♀️
I'm going to call the Dr Monday & see what they suggest as an alternative.

@NaomiB79 sounds like heaven, enjoy

peachypetite · 23/01/2021 23:06

@NaomiB79 enjoy. My mum has done a couple of night shifts so we can have a break and it’s amazing how you feel the next day.

peachypetite · 24/01/2021 07:41

Oh my god, baby went six hours without a feed last night! She’s going through a leap and hardly slept during the day though. I’ve also been online shopping, next have really nice stuff in their clearance and have bought lots of 3-6 and 6-9 to put by.

Kj1010 · 24/01/2021 08:53

So my lo went 4.45 mins then 2.40 and is now sleeping in bouncer so is getting slightly better can I ask what ur babys are on bottle wise mine is 4 ounces normally every 3/4 hours and most of the time drinks between 2/ 3 inbetween I have done 5 ounce but he doesn't seem to drink the whole bottle does better with the 4 then what ever inbetween on the milk tin it say for his age should be 5 ounces and he should have 5 bottles in a 24 hour period which I think most of the time he is having more he is 7 weeks tomorrow I'm not concerned about weight I can feel he is getting heavier and he is also grown as now in 0/3 months vests and babygroves just curious

Jellycat2020 · 24/01/2021 22:50

@Kj1010 my LO is 9 weeks and currently having 6 feeds a day of up to 180ml (6oz) but she loves her milk! 😂 Averages around 750-900ml per day.
