@Pinktruffle seems like everyone is told something different!

Nic2908 · 19/01/2021 19:32

Anyone using comfort milk?? Just started on it today and wondering how long before anyone saw any difference and how long to give it to know its doing anything??

Babyhope98 · 19/01/2021 19:45

The receptionist at my doctors told me to give calpol thirty minutes before the jabs how strange! @Pinktruffle don’t know whether I should or not now lol

peachypetite · 19/01/2021 19:51

@Babyhope98 I would stick with what you’ve been advised for your surgery.

Pinktruffle · 19/01/2021 20:04

@Babyhope98 give then the Calpol, myO's has just worn off and he has screamed the house down, nothing would console him, I just had to cuddle him back to sleep. I won't be making the mistake of letting it wear off again! He was quite happy and playful after the actual jabs.

peachypetite · 19/01/2021 20:10

@Kj1010 it sounds like a period. I would keep a note of it so you can refer back to dates going forward.

Jellycat2020 · 19/01/2021 20:24

My LO had her jabs today too - she loved the oral vaccine and was looking for more! 😂 But did scream with the two injections, although it was short lived. She has been grumpier today though. She's normally a very happy, smiley baby and most of the day she's been really unsettled. We've done two doses of Calpol so far and she seems a bit more normal. Just hoping for a settled night as I hate seeing her upset 😔

lc86 · 19/01/2021 20:25

@Nic2908 I'm sure one of the mums on here is and said it worked pretty instantly and their baby was a lot more settled.. we are using anti reflux milk and noticed a difference straight away x

Jellycat2020 · 19/01/2021 20:47

@Kj1010 I'm nearly 9 weeks post-partum and my periods returned on Sunday. It was quite a shock as I had no cramping or anything and seems to be easing off already.

Pinktruffle · 19/01/2021 20:51

@Jellycat2020 mine returned on the weekend too, I'm also 9 weeks PP. I've been surprised by how light my period is compared to normal and relatively symptom free.

Babyhope98 · 19/01/2021 20:59

Does anyone put there baby to bed before them? She’s 7 weeks today but come the evening won’t sleep with the noise of the living room. If we go to bed she will go down and I want her to start sleeping at 8 really but don’t want to sleep myself at that time and want some time for me and my partner. What’s everyone else doing?

kkr168 · 19/01/2021 21:21

@Trufflepuffpuff The dr took him off of gaviscon & put him onto aptamil comfort milk (low lactose) because they suspect he has some form of milk allergy, his reflux disappeared almost overnight. He currently has spots/rash all over his face though which the dr is currently treating as eczema, if no improvement though (were a week in & so far there hasn't been much change) they will switch his milk again to a dairy free one because reflux & eczema are both signs of cows milk allergies.

Babyhope98 · 19/01/2021 21:26

Second thoughts I just heard her gasp in her sleep and now I don’t want to leave her haha. Think it’s her reflux makes her do that so scary it wakes her up suddenly 😩

kkr168 · 19/01/2021 22:17

Our son has had a fussy few days, he's been really hard to settle, crying lots, etc, I'd put it down to him going through a leap & growth spurt. It struck me tonight that it's very similar to how he was prior to changing to comfort milk, the only recent change is he started taking lactulose for constipation. I don't know why it didn't register at the time, especially going by the name of the medicine but lactulose is mainly lactose & shouldn't be prescribed if you are lactose intolerance!! Surely the Dr should know this, she even prescribed his milk on the same prescription. I'm so angry & will not be happy if this is what has caused this sudden change, I'll be calling them 1st thing tomorrow.

Bigredriding · 19/01/2021 22:22

@Babyhope98 we’re having this issue and I had the exact same problem with my first. He won’t go to sleep in the evening until we’re in our bedroom (dark, white noise,
sleeping bag on etc) but he’s horribly fussy 7pm onwards because I think he’s working towards an earlier bedtime. We can’t relax or do anything because he’s requiring constant attention or screaming the house down, so I’ve been going to bed at 9pm to get him settled for the night. It’s not how I want the next 4 months to be though! I’m envious of those babies who settle downstairs for the evening..if anyone has any tips please share! He’s 7 weeks later this week.

Babyhope98 · 19/01/2021 22:48

She’s always really fussy too which I think is due to being overtired and I realise I need to go up earlier now, it’s hard as partner works till 6 so only time in the evening to spend together but I don’t want to risk anything although I think waiting until six months will be hard @Bigredriding

Babyhope98 · 19/01/2021 22:50

Wonder weeks app says I’m due a spurt tomorrow and she is cluster feeding tonight keeps feeding waking up within a few minutes and sucking my shoulder 🤣 Then screaming because she wants more milk in for a long night 😄

Trufflepuffpuff · 19/01/2021 23:01

@lc86 did you get the doctor to recommend it or just tried it out? I'm tempted but not sure if I need medical advice. The HVs always say it's a con...

Pinktruffle · 20/01/2021 02:02

I knew tonight would be a difficult one but there seems to be a pattern the past few days and my LO will just not go down in his crib. He will happily sleep in my arms but as soon as he's put down, he wakes up. Anyone found any solution to this? I've tried holding him for up to half an hour before putting him down but its stopped working, he seems to be getting his eto my tricks.

Hope everyone is well. My little girl had her first injections yesterday. She was happier than usual before them so my heart was breaking knowing she's going to be crying very soon but thankfully it was nowhere near as bad as I was anticipating. She was really good and barely cried.

@Jellycat2020 my daughter was exactly the same, gulped down the oral vaccine like there's no tomorrow 😂 she was also extremely happy to be seen by the doctor afterwards, was laughing and babbling. Had a few moments in the afternoon where she screamed but she settled pretty quickly. She has slept all night too. I've given her 3 doses of calpol and it kept her from developing any fever. She slept majority of the day and all night too which is great. When she was awake, she was her usual bubbly self towards the evening enjoying some cocomelon. Will have to see how today goes.

@Trufflepuffpuff we just tried it based on reviews, it's definitely worked for him. It's just all trial and error it seems 🤦🏼‍♀️

NaomiB79 · 20/01/2021 06:19

So only three weeks after my DP was rushed to hospital to get his gallbladder removed I'm now in hospital with our baby! She was not eating very much the last few days and yesterday just refused to eat and was screaming in pain.

They’re still not sure what’s causing the pain, they think she might have some sort of infection but she’s had some painkillers through the night and has been feeding again so she’s much happier this morning.

They’re going to do more blood and urine tests this morning to check for inflammation/ infection.

Honestly what a start to 2021!

peachypetite · 20/01/2021 07:12

@Pinktruffle my little girl was being really clingy during her last leap. It helped knowing it wouldn’t last and that there was w reason behind it. She was fine after that. We are soon to be entering leap two, god help me. I’ve actually had great sleep the last seven or eight days and have been enjoying not feeling like a zombie. @NaomiB79 oh no! That sounds scary. I hope they get to the bottom of it.

Jwl45 · 20/01/2021 07:42

@NaomiB79 oh no... Sorry to hear this. Hope it gets sorted for you and your little one is better soon. Sending hugs 🤗 xx
