Hi everyone!

Can I join? I got my first BFP yesterday evening.. hasn’t quite sunk in yet so think I’ll keep testing just to be sure, terrified something will go wrong. Confused

All being well, baby will be due 3rd September. This is our first pregnancy, so not sure what to expect - but I can already tell I’m peeing every 5 minutes and feel continuously bloated.. I already look 5 months pregnant 😂

Merry Christmas to everyone! Xmas Grin

Sparrow91 · 25/12/2020 06:12

@Keyboard91 are these all taken at the same time? Maybe it’s just the HCG is doubling slower? I’d also try testing at a different time just in case as I know my FMU was showing negative before I tried later in the day!

Have everything crossed for you Flowers

Keyboard91 · 25/12/2020 06:45

@Sparrow91 yes all taken around 5/5:30 with fmu as that’s when the baby wakes 🙈 now it’s dry (like the others) it’s about the same darkness. I can’t help but worry though. Been down both the happy and sad road before

September 2021!

@Keyboard91 Any chance you can label the sticks, put them in order, and flip the photo? Hard to tell otherwise.

Keyboard91 · 25/12/2020 07:15

So I tried @Sparrow91 way of thinking and tested with SMU and this is the progression now. I’ve labelled the sticks @Highfalutinlootin too

Congrats to everyone and a merry Christmas!

I can't stop doing pregnancy tests, I just can't believe it 🤣
My lines arnt getting darker though, I will post a pic tomorrow as I can't yet as I've only just joined, but I found out on Wednesday and the lines are still the same today, should I be worried 😩? Xxx

Highfalutinlootin · 25/12/2020 07:21

I think that progression looks great! Early days I had some inconsistency with FMU vs afternoon, too.

sydneymae · 25/12/2020 07:22
@sydneymae Wow no way,
you have exactly the same dates as me, I'm around 3 weeks 5 days and due 4th September 🥰.

Definitely would love some tips as well to keep us on the straight and narrow through the first trimester!
Due date twins! Merry Christmas and congrats!
I'm watching every little twinge and cramp 🤣 I just want the next 8 weeks to fly by ! Xx

eb1989 · 25/12/2020 08:26

Congratulations everyone! Such a great surprise before Christmas 🎄

I'm going to tentatively join you. My last cycle I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. I had a negative test last Friday and then had cramps over the weekend... tested and it was positive! 😳 I feel so lucky to have got pregnant again straight away but I'm so worried!

Due date is 1st Sept!

eb1989 · 25/12/2020 08:26

@Keyboard91 your tests look great! Maybe try and do every other day so you'll see more of the progression? It's so hard to relax isn't it!

KitQ · 25/12/2020 08:47

Don’t forget a line is a line! It means you’re pregnant. Try not to worry too much.

Merry Christmas all! My husband bought us teeny baby socks that say ‘I love my mummy’ and ‘I love my daddy’ and I cried haha

Scaredycat101 · 25/12/2020 08:54

@Keyboard91 Hopefully the first week of September will be a busy week in 2021! I'm hating the first tri already I'm trying not to get my hopes up! I'd agree and see if you can test at a different time just to see if it picks up more HCG which it looks like it's got darker from the pic! 🥰

@Sparrow91 congrats on your BFP! It's crazy isn't it, you feel totally overwhelmed but then the anxiety sets in 😭! We'll all get through it together I'm sure. I'm the same, first pregnancy and no idea what's going on most the time 😂. I want to ask my
Mum, sister, MIL, SIL x2 and close friend lots of questions but it's too early... Sigh!

@sydneymae You too! Haha I'm the same, yesterday the only thing I felt was cramps and sore boobs on and off. Scared it's all a fluke and AF will turn up today as expected and the tests were wrong!

@eb1989 Congrats to your Christmas BFP! So sorry hear about your loss at 5 weeks, it's incredible you got pregnant straight away though! I'm sure we'll all be super supportive, you've got this!

@KitQ Thats adorable!! That would set me off too, what a lovely gift. ☺️ Last night I cried at a FB post my mum did showing a note my nephew left out for Santa and how proud she was of her grandson - I was a goner! Little does she know she may have another in the way...

Happy Christmas everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day (despite the circumstances atm) and let's try and keep those worries at bay for one day! 😀

Ralala · 25/12/2020 09:43

Hi all, can I join you tentatively. Got my bfp yesterday at 12dpo. Online calculators are giving me a due date of anywhere between 31st august and 5th September. I have longer cycles and they have been abit off since my miscarriage in august.

Also hate the first trimester. Lasts so long ...!

JollyHollyFolly · 25/12/2020 10:02

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hopefully you are not feeling too grotty. I've had a few stomach turns while food prepping this morning but hopefully will be the same as with DD with not actually throwing up.

Sparrow91 · 25/12/2020 10:30

@Keyboard91 that SMU is looking strong!! 👌🏻 Hopefully that gives you at least a bit of reassurance Flowers

@sydneymae the twinges are crazy!! Now I’m actually paying more attention to my body I feel twinges all over my tummy, it’s like little pulling of muscles?!

@eb1989 so sorry for your previous loss - but biggest congratulations on your BFP, here’s hoping this one is a sticky little bean ❤️

@KitQ those socks tho 🥺 in some ways I’m a bit sad I only found out yesterday, otherwise I’d be all over getting some presents from baby for DP 😂

@Scaredycat101 thank you and congrats on yours too! I’m so thrilled but I feel like I haven’t got a clue now. Think I need to do some research on what I can and can’t do! So glad there is some other FTMs on here.. as for asking everyone, we had to tell both sets of parents last night because I was meant to be going over to have a few drinks.. obviously couldn’t happen! Will you wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone?

Welcome @Ralala - congrats on your BFP and sorry for your previous loss, like with EB I hope you have a sticky little bean 🤞🏻

Hope everyone is having a good Christmas so far... unfortunately for me DP has woken up with a stomach bug. Merry Christmas indeed Xmas Hmm

Ralala · 25/12/2020 13:00

Yes we won’t be telling anyone until 12 weeks and work much later. Last time I didn’t really announce until 17 weeks . That was my first pregnancy and the pregnancy was absolutely perfect and I felt great but we just decided to wait. With our last pregnancy (miscarriage just before 12 weeks) again we hadn’t told anyone. I found when I was going through the miscarriage it was nice only telling people if I had too. The thought of having to announce a miscarriage would have pushed me over the edge. Sorry just my thoughts!

Sober Xmas day for me because I need to drive to the in laws anyway. Was my turn to be designated driver which is lucky!

eb1989 · 25/12/2020 14:07

Thank you so much @Sparrow91 and @Scaredycat101 it's so lovely knowing there's others going through the same worry so we can chat together.

@Ralala so sorry to hear about your previous loss. I agree it was difficult going back to the people you'd told telling them it hadn't worked out. But at the same time it'd be so nice to tell people to celebrate!

Some twinges today and boobs still very sore! Not sleeping too well either. Usually wide awake about 5am!

Scaredycat101 · 25/12/2020 16:06

@Ralala Congrats on your BFP! So sorry to hear about your previous loss, hopefully the first trimester flies by! Quite handy you're the designated driver this year else that may have been a bit suspect!

@Sparrow91 Aw that's lovely, bet they were over the moon! I think we'll be waiting until 12 weeks just to be on the safe side, I would find it so hard having to tell people if things don't work out for us. Hope your DP feels better after this morning, not nice to be sick on Christmas!!

@JollyHollyFolly I hated the smell of crispy bacon earlier with the turkey, managed to get through it thankfully! Hope your dinner went well 😀.

I've only had the odd cramp today so hope things are going okay, today would have been my first day of a new cycle so glad AF isn't here and no bleeding either, touch wood.

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas! 🎄

KitQ · 25/12/2020 21:18

Hope everyone’s had a good day. I feel on my bum quite hard while playing a game (silly I know) and I’ve been a bit worried all evening that it might cause a problem :( obviously it’s just a little bump and our bodies are very resilient but everything is so worrying at this time. What does everyone think?

Darklava09 · 25/12/2020 22:57

@KitQ I think you will be ok! Our bodies are tough. Just keep an eye on how you feel. Hope you’ve had a lovely day .

Scaredycat101 · 26/12/2020 09:22

@KitQ I think you'll be fine, it's still quite early so baby should be nice and protected in there! Sounds like you were going all out tho on the Christmas games! My mum fell over with me quite late in pregnancy (frosty morning on a zebra crossing and broke her arm) but I stayed in there a while longer with no issues ☺️.

Scotti84 · 26/12/2020 11:19

Hi everyone, can I jump in too?

Should be due around Sept 1st, first pregnancy, and am somewhere between absolutely elated and bricking it! I’m 36 so won’t be telling anyone until the three month mark just to be on the safe side.

Anyone else been reading on diet tips? Or anyone here not on their first that can give me a bit of advice? It seems there’s so much I shouldn’t be eating now? Caffeine and alcohol are obvious, but nothing raw, (does that also mean i should avoid ham sandwiches?) no fish, just tuna but not too much due to the Mercury, eggs are ok if well cooked etc. I don’t want to overdo it but I’m also very aware that it’s up to me to give this baby the best possible start and it’s a bit bloody overwhelming if I’m honest! Anyone else feeling like this too?

eb1989 · 26/12/2020 11:41

@Scotti84 Congratulations! We are due the same date!

I've just been concentrating on avoiding caffeine and trying to eat well. Taking each meal as it comes! The NHS website is the best place to check. I wouldn't get too stressed by it all but just avoid the main things that they recommend.

KitQ · 26/12/2020 11:59

Today I’m very very tired and very very hungry. Luckily it’s Boxing Day and it’s cool to eat like a pig but I literally can’t stop thinking about food haha

Everstorm · 26/12/2020 12:04

Hoping everyone has had a lovely Christmas!! Time to put our feet up - pretty sure Boxing Day rules strictly involve cosy PJ's, movies and yummy leftovers :)

We've had a whirlwind of a few days!!
DP proposed on Christmas eve! Grin - Apparently he had the ring for months but was waiting to ask my dad in person this Christmas. Unfortunately we couldn't travel due to Covid rules, and my announcement earlier this week meant he couldn't wait any longer, haha!

We had the joy of letting family know during our zoom calls yesterday. Only told my mum and dad about our additional 'surprise' until we're further along though Smile
Such an exciting end to a bonkers year :)
