Thanks @MamaPheebz. I would feel like I'm wasting their time to be honest, a blood test won't change anything so I'm just hoping and praying that it all goes smoothly. I do feel better after finally getting a slightly better looking today!

Hopefully I will keep my nervousness under control, and then will prob book a private scan, if it's possible, in a few weeks if all continues ok until then. I had one with my first (successful) pregnancy, and also had one which confirmed my suspicions that I'd had a missed miscarriage with my second pregnancy.

wrensandrobins · 19/01/2021 18:01

@Kat1112025 I referred at 6 weeks I'm glad I did because they can't fit me in for my booking appointment until 11 weeks although fortunately my scan is still 12 :)

Equimum · 19/01/2021 18:06

Kat1112025 my local service asks you to only self refer once you are 6+ weeks. I’m going to do the online form later this week.

Kat1112025 · 19/01/2021 18:24

Thanks @Equimum @wrensandrobins and @MrsMcNtobe , I can't find any guidance for my area but I'll do it at 6 weeks.

lilyj13 · 19/01/2021 19:01

Has anyone got this sliver business going on in their mouth, it has gotten horrendous today, it's horrible, literally floods of sliver

wrensandrobins · 19/01/2021 19:40

@Kat1112025 I couldn't find it either, i rang my doctor and they gave me the number :)

Mumof42021 · 19/01/2021 20:48

Hi everyone and congratulations!!! I’m 7+3 weeks and got w private scan booked for Sunday. Just for reassurance and because we’re too excited to wait and see 🤣. I’m having a really rough time last few days. I feel massive! I got a water infection and can’t stop peeing. I am exhausted all day and when it gets to light and I can actually go to bed I can’t sleep. I’m up most of the night, peeing, weird dreams and feeling sick. I feel queasy all day and night. I’m hungry but most food makes me feel sick, honestly it’s ridiculous. This is pregnancy you number 4 and I’ve never experienced anything like this. I’m just hoping it passes soon so I can enjoy. Sorry to moan, I think partners probably sick of me already aswell 🤣🤣🤣

September 2021!
strangerontheinternet · 19/01/2021 20:59

Was everyone TTC? We were but fell a lot quicker than we both thought now I'm panicking a bit but feel guilty for feeling like that! Anyone else?! X

Duesept21 · 19/01/2021 21:00

Not sure who I'm replying to so will just post in general about the midwife.
I'm 5 weeks today. I rang my GP yesterday asking what to do next and they gave me the number for the midwife - didn't say I needed to wait or anything but then again it also seemed like I was an inconvenience by calling them. They want everything done online but I couldn't find anything at all on their site regarding pregnancy. Anyway so I am booked in for a face to face appointment at 8 weeks and a telephone one the week after.

InTheLibrary · 19/01/2021 21:14

@strangerontheinternet yes we were on month one of TTC and we thought we’d missed my ovulation day and the two days either side so really did not consider we’d be pregnant!

MWNI · 19/01/2021 22:04

Hey ladies! I've annoyingly missed my midwives call twice - unbelievable for me! But I can never get through when I call back. My first missed call was Thursday and another today while I was on a work call and put my phone to silent- timing. In between that it's been impossible to get hold of anyone. Hope I get another call tomorrow/thurs as I'm 7 weeks now and just want the all booked in. I referred myself 12 days ago. Maybe I'm being impatient, I dunno!? Also is anyone considering the harmony test?

88pixie · 20/01/2021 10:44

Morning all, I was just wondering when you get your first appointment for the midwife? My GP put my referral in on my behalf as he wanted to add my medical records and a few notes. I am only 5+1 but I am itching to get an appointment date. I read that it was between 8-12 wks but wondering how far in advance and how long after your referral you heard from them. Thank you x

FTEngineerM · 20/01/2021 10:48

@88pixie mine is 30th jan, I think I’m 6+2 based on when the CB changed from 2-3 to 3+ but it realise that’s not exactly accurate so will have to wait for scan.

Will be 7+5 at midwife booking appt, it’s over phone where I am.

88pixie · 20/01/2021 10:58

@FTEngineerM Thank you, I wasn't sure if it would be the later weeks due to covid and maybe a delay. So I may hear something end of next week early following week that's not to bad. I am working from home and the days just seem to drag hehe

InTheLibrary · 20/01/2021 11:02

@88pixie I can self refer at 6 weeks, and it says they aim to respond within 10 working days but that they aim to do the booking appointment in weeks 10/11. At 4+5 that seems so far away, I’m starting to feel impatient but just trying to focus on things I can control; kegels, belly butter, checking my beauty products and all that sort of stuff!

88pixie · 20/01/2021 11:32

@InTheLibrary Yeah I know what you mean it does seem so far away and you just want someone to say yep how your feeling is totally normal. Maybe it will also depend on where you live, not sure if that makes a difference to wait times and when they get you in. Yesterday I had a day when I had no symptoms which had made me feel a little anxious but today I have started to feel nauseas and tired.

Scotti84 · 20/01/2021 16:12

Afternoon everyone, how’s everyone feeling today? I am struggling! 8 weeks today, and I’m bloody knackered! Still have no appetite so can’t eat much but then obviously I have no energy! I read that the fetus takes its nutrients first and my body gets what’s left so I know I need to eat more but it’s hard! I’m trying to eat toast and fruit and yoghurts but today I had such a bad headache it’s hard to get anything down. Anyone else suffering? Four more weeks to go til I’m out the danger zone and hopefully start feeling more human!

Sorry for the ranting, just nowhere else I can let it out atm!

lilyj13 · 20/01/2021 18:04

@Scotti84 I'm really struggling tbh, my mouth has an awful metallic taste which makes me feel so sick, I have no energy, constantly nauseas, the taste of toothpaste makes me sick, feel poorly and just don't want to carry on 😔

Scotti84 · 20/01/2021 18:12

@lilyj13 are you having to work atm? It’s so shit isn’t it! I know we probably sound so ungrateful and obviously it will all be worth it in the end but this is hard going! I can’t really get excited about the future because I’m just hoping the next few weeks somehow fly by and things can get better. The whole taste/smell thing is awful! Completely unexpected.

lilyj13 · 20/01/2021 18:26

@Scotti84 it's just so hard to carry on, I struggle with hyperemisis and I know it's going to kick in any day now.
It's so hard, I'm a childminder so I'm working.
I have started to take Wednesdays off starting today but my daughters bubble closed and now she's off for 10 days it's so much to cope with x

FTEngineerM · 20/01/2021 18:39

@Scotti84 sorry you’re struggling, 8 weeks though 🥳 that’s something to celebrate.

@lilyj13 that sounds so rough looking after lots of babies when you’re nauseous, hope it doesn’t last for you.

I feel ok today, it’s so odd how it comes and goes. I want the next few weeks to fly so I can feel them then I’ll be patient for the rest Grin.

Scotti84 · 21/01/2021 09:43

@lilyj13 oh no, not the easiest of jobs I imagine! Especially when youre feeling crappy. Do you have support from family? Have you told anyone yet?

@FTEngineerM I’d love an ok day, just for a bit of a break! I’ve decided I’m just going to go back to bed if I feel bad and sleep through it, eat and sleep and not even bother trying to power through. Hopefully after the next few weeks it will ease off

Noodles4Me · 21/01/2021 10:32

I get small waves of nausea that last about 30 mins every morning and that's it. Nothing that is interrupting my day. Should I be worried. 8 weeks + 1 today but no real sickness.

Got my midwife clinic appointment on Monday, when should I mention I want a CS? Is it too soon?

So many anxious questions! Confused

MrsMcNtobe · 21/01/2021 10:49

@Noodles4Me I think it’s best to just say it when you see the midwife, that way they can note it down for you!

What made you decide for a CS? Sorry if that’s too nosy, this is my first and I’m curious 😂

Scotti84 · 21/01/2021 11:00

@Noodles4Me I wouldn’t worry, I think it’s different for everyone but I absolutely would be happy to swap for a couple of days. I read it could be to do with the gender, girls have hormones that make you feel worse while boys aren’t so bad but I’m not sure how much truth is in that.

I’ve been wondering that too, my mum had said to me if I have the option I should get a C section but then I’ve read so much about how it’s riskier and recovery is longer. Anyone had experience of both ways of giving birth? Advice on that would be massively appreciated. I’d ask all questions at the appt, I think the midwife will tell you if it’s something to bring up later x
