Can I join you ladies, I have a due date of August 24, just found out yesterday and so excited.

mommyofone2019 · 23/12/2020 04:12

@melly76x I keep saying the same, I'm tired but I'm pretty sure it's because of the Christmas madness and having a toddler!
4 weeks 4 days here and no symptoms

@Jasmine99 amazing! I have a scan booked for 8 weeks and was worried it was too early.
I went at 10 weeks with my daughter but I just couldn't wait those extra 2 weeks 😂

@melly76x hey! I’m 5 weeks and sometimes I feel super pregnant and the next minuet nothing so I think it’s normal. Tbh there is no normal 😂 Iv found that if you google anything someone’s had it.

Just incase anyone has been trying a long time and needs some reassurance too. I went to my doctors yesterday and asked for bloods to check my hormones they didn’t hesitate they have checked everything ( progesterone, hcg, fsh, lh something haha ) just waiting for the results now xxx

thelessiknow · 23/12/2020 09:12

Hey all, congratulations on your pregnancies! I found out I am pregnant with my first baby yesterday, 4 + 1, due 30 August. Just getting over the shock of it all, very excited but also a bit scared!

I haven’t had many symptoms yet, just sore boobs and a dull ache on my left lower abdomen, bit like period pain. Also awake from 1am - 4am for the last two nights 🙃

Has anyone told anyone yet except their partner? Mine is so excited thankfully, but it feels a bit weird not to be able to tell anyone!

Jasmine99 · 23/12/2020 09:24

@mommyofone2019 Not too early at all! My scan was pretty clear tbh, could see head a bit and heart clearly. I dont know how to add pictures on here lol. I've found its made me relax more in some ways but worry more in others lol. Hopefully all will be well!😊xxx

BananaHammock23 · 23/12/2020 09:32

@melly76x I'm now 6+5 and only started getting real symptoms in the last 3 days. I've been feeling soooo sick - like having a constant hangover! But haven't actually been sick yet. My cramps have mostly stopped now apart from the odd twinge here and there and my boobs are now pretty massive and sore! But like I said, I didn't really feel anything until this week. A Christmas miracle 😂 this is our first IVF and we've got pregnant so I can't believe it until the 8 week scan x

@thelessiknow congratulations! We have the same EDD Smile I'm really sick already! Although a bit better today. I haven't told my partner yet as holding out to surprise him Christmas Day but I know what you mean about not telling people!

Congrats!! This is my EDD too! I am also suffering from lack of sleep - quite badly actually! Also heartburn and period like cramps which seems super early for these sorts of symptoms! We've told parents on both sides and my best friend - we just wanted to give good news in such a rubbish year!
MimiArm · 23/12/2020 15:44

Can I join please? I got my BFP yesterday. 4 weeks and due 31 August. We have been TTC our first for 12 months and were due to start IVF soon. I've been on Clomid for three months as I wasn't ovulating (I'm 39, DH 37). This is our first. It's starting to sink in today that this is really happening but I'm also trying my hardest to push out the worrying thoughts.

thelessiknow · 23/12/2020 16:50

@ame88 @Charlab thank you ☺️ I don’t know about either of you but I’m slightly hoping it arrives late and ends up as an early September baby - the poor kid being born on the final days of the school year!

@MimiArm congratulations! How are you feeling? It’s hard not to worry isn’t it - I am planning to try and take each day as it comes as it seems like such a long time before you can relax even slightly!

CookieMonster3001 · 23/12/2020 17:24

Hiya ladies can I join? Found out i was pregnant last Sunday at 11DPO. Currently 4+4 and feel like the time is going super slow!!! Sent of my self referral last Tuesday and still not heard from them..imagine it will be after xmas now but going to chase it up after boxing day. Symptom wise ive got sore nipples and shooting pains in my boobs, and been cramping on and off everyday for a week now. Sometimes its in the middle and sometimes on either side. Hoping all the cramping is normal. This is my first pregnancy and have no idea what to expect or how I should be feeling, but I am on a constant knicker check as the cramps sometimes feel like AF arriving!! Estimated due date is 25th August!!

MimiArm · 23/12/2020 17:27

@thelessiknow Aw, thank you. Congratulations to you too! We are almost identical due dates!

I hardly slept last night! My body was exhausted but my mind far too busy. I have a sinus infection as well which is giving me such a headache and toothache but am trying to not take anything for it. Sniffing some olbas oil hoping that will clear it a bit.

How are you feeling?

Charlab · 23/12/2020 17:31

@thelessiknow @ame88 definitely hoping we get to 1st September!

@MimiArm huge congratulations! X

I feel like I'm going to need to tell work sooner than planned. I work in family support (children's services) so do home visits, school visits etc. The area I work in is tier 4 and now the area I live is too. What are other people's thoughts about Covid and when to tell employers? I know we don't need to tell them early but I'm thinking more about risk assessment with pregnancy.

Charlab · 23/12/2020 17:33

@CookieMonster3001 congratulations to you! It's my first pregnancy too so same as you - nothing to compare to, equally excited and terrified! I was very lucky to get pregnant quickly and know how difficult it can be for others so feeling very grateful, but also feeling so shocked about it!

mommyofone2019 · 23/12/2020 17:34

@Charlab it defo sounds like it will be beneficial to you if you tell your employer sooner rather than later. Especially how was are classed as "vulnerable". I wouldn't want to be exposed x

So dropped my urine sample at the drs this morning. Had a call back and they confirmed they had tested and it was positive. Think the woman I spoke to was a health care assistant of some sorts. But she has referred me onto the midwife. Kind of feels more real now!

She ran though a few things with me and confirmed that I won't have a face to face meeting with a midwife until I'm 28 weeks! All prior appointments will be done via the telephone.

My first appointment will be 6-8 weeks at something called an early bird clinic (at the hospital I think) where bloods will be taken.

How it's all changed since I had my daughter and that was only last year!!

When are you planning on telling your parents etc? It was easy for us 1st time round not telling anyone until just before I was 10 weeks. But now I have my daughter I will need the childcare to go to appointments!

holypoop · 23/12/2020 19:13

Congratulations to you all ladies.

I had a scan today and measured 6:1 weeks with no heart beat seen. Now I’m panicking I may have had a MMC.
Anyone else had this with a previous pregnancy and had a healthy baby? My boobs no longer hurt either but feel feel fuller.
I had a MC in March so now panicking I’ve had a MMC.

thelessiknow · 23/12/2020 20:50

@MimiArm you poor thing - that sounds rubbish. Hot water in a bowl and a towel over your head!

@CookieMonster3001 congratulations!! Think I saw some of your posts on the ttc forums - so happy you got good news ☺️

@Charlab I would def tell them - they will hopefully have procedures in place? Don’t actually know what the current shielding guidance is in general but I know medical professionals won’t work beyond a certain no of weeks so it might be the same? I have the opposite prob in that my office is likely to be closed until the summer so I may not end up seeing anyone in person at all! Which is quite sad given I’ve not seen a single coworker since March 😔

@mommyofone2019 ah that is tough - could you say it’s a general women’s health thing if you don’t want to tell them yet?

We are going to hold off telling ours - although I nearly told my mum this eve as she was crying on the phone to me about not being able to see anyone at Christmas and I wanted to cheer her up :(

I can kind of see cons for both being the youngest or eldest in the school year tbh!! We'll see! I know 1st babies are usually late so I can see a September baby on my horizon!

DOB78 · 24/12/2020 12:45

I'm a Mental Health Nurse in A and E so I've told my Boss straight away. She was brilliant and is going to do a risk assessment after Christmas.
We've told everyone else too been a crap year so just wanted to share some.good news.
I've booked an early scan too not told OH, more surprises!! Its all so exciting isn't it.

mommyofone2019 · 24/12/2020 14:03

@DOB78 how fab! I bet your family were thrilled ❤️ how far along are you?
I was considering telling people tomorrow i actually feel scared though. Feel like I don't want to tempt fate! I will only be 5 weeks on Boxing Day. Don't know what to do xx
