Hi All,

Pregnant with baby number 1, due end of July 2021. Was hoping that we could get a thread going for those due around the same time (or sooner!) so that we can chat through our experiences and help others out. I am totally clueless so would love someone to chat to given we haven't announced yet (i am 7+3 today)!

@IwishIwasBrave I am 12+4 now (got dated a little earlier than I thought at my scan) and I am also suffering from the nausea and fatigue still. It's definitely not as bad as it was in the really early weeks but its still there. This is my first though I don't think I would have another though after this experience so far hahahah! I'm hoping these symptoms are going to disappear soon its really draining me!!

Belles28 · 06/01/2021 12:36

Hey ladies! Wondering if I can tag along...

Currently 12+3 with my first baby! I’ve had awful nausea from weeks 5-10 & since then it’s been sloooowly (oh so slowly) easing.

My 12wk NHS scan isn’t until next week (I’ll be 13+5) but we had an early scan & it was incredible! Like so many others I was PETRIFIED, convinced there would be nothing there. I’ve heard that this is so normal though, no matter how many reassuring scans you have it never becomes any less of a worry!

Lots of little Summer babies - so exciting :-)

PS. Weird symptom - constantly sneezing, anyone else?!?

SamoyedFan123 · 06/01/2021 12:46

@Belles28 congrats and welcome
Re. the sneezing - absolutely yes! It's to do with increased blood flow to the mucus membranes in your nose and sinuses - makes then more sensitive.

RachShad · 06/01/2021 13:04

I havent been sneezing but I've got alot of mucus in the back of my throat (sorry if too much info) and struggle to clear it hahaha

MillyJS · 06/01/2021 15:19

Omg I am also constantly sneezing 😂 Also out of breath a lot. I've just got through a two hour presentation over Zoom sounding like I'd run up two flights of stairs.

@mrslou I bought the Dreamgenii pillow, it's great. Check it out and let me know what you think.

We have our dating scan tomorrow morning and I am so nervous but excited. I am 13 weeks tomorrow and hoping baby is healthy Smile

NeedCoffeeToSurvive · 07/01/2021 21:32

Just joining! I'm due around July 5th, currently 14 weeks something, not 100% sure, this is my 2nd pregnancy. Got my booking appointment with the midwife next week and rather excited.

SamoyedFan123 · 07/01/2021 21:38

@NeedCoffeeToSurvive welcome and congrats 😊 how have you not had your booking appointment yet at 14 weeks?? Have you had your dating scan?

NeedCoffeeToSurvive · 07/01/2021 21:45

@SamoyedFan123 I didn't mention to my doctor I was pregnant until about 2 weeks ago, so only just been referred. Actually found out I was pregnant October 28th.

Hello everyone, I’ve dropped in and out of various chats on mumsnet and on facebook. I find mumsnet tricky to keep up with and the Facebook groups aren’t really what I’m looking for - too many power hungry individuals ruling the roost.

I am part of an amazing group from my first pregnancy and I’d love to create a similar supportive group this time. It would be a very relaxed group where we can all chat freely and without judgement. I don’t plan to dictate what can and can’t be discussed and I just want people to feel it’s a safe place to chat. I know some people might prefer the anonymity of mumsnet but if anyone would like to join me on my new July group on Facebook please do! All I ask is that everyone is always kind and respectful. I really hope we can become a close group of mums like my original group who are regularly my life line.
By the way, I’m due on 22 July and have my 12 week scan on the 20 Jan.

I’d you’d like to join me I’ll see you here. Hope the link works...

Lorz80 · 10/01/2021 17:26

I should add that it’s a private group so no one on your Facebook can see that you’re a member

Waffle10 · 10/01/2021 18:17

Welcome Lorz80, there is already a Facebook group set up if you would like to join. The group is really supportive so far

Lorz80 · 10/01/2021 19:52

Thanks Waffle. Can you send me the link?

Dogmom92 · 11/01/2021 15:04

Hey everyone, just catching up on all the posts. Ive been so busy with work and mumsnet only occasionally sends me updates for notifications!

Good to see some scans in - mine is Thursday and im excited / nervous. I totally feel the fear of “is there anything in there” since ive had no real symptoms and my stomach isnt much different (a bit more fat from my massive appetite!)

Please keep it coming with the pregnancy pillow recommendations - i sleep on my front usually and definitely need one!

I was also thinking about books/ audiobooks. Does anyone have any good podcasts or have you looked into hypnobirthing? I feel like theres so much information i need to take in to focus on the birth and how to look after a baby!! (First time problems haha)

Had my 12 week scan today. By my dates, I should have been 11+4, but baby only measuring 10+6. I have to go back for another in 10 days, as baby was too small to do any of the nuchal tests.
Little worried that he/she is measuring small, but so glad I get to see again next week!
It was amazing watching the somersaults on the screen 😄

Good luck for Thursday @Dogmom92
I'm also a tummy sleeper, really not looking forward to when bump gets bigger and I have to lay on my side!

Cressie2 · 11/01/2021 16:58

@Dogmom92 Do hope your scan goes well! I’ve actually been recommended the book “Your baby- Week by Week” by Dr Caroline Fertleman which is really excellent. I have also bought “The New Dad’s survival guide” by Rob Kemp for my husband which is a really good book for men and answers all the sort of questions they might want to know like how to look after your wife, how Dad’s can bond with babies, expert advice on the right gear to buy. It’s really great and I enjoyed reading it too.

As for pregnancy pillows, I’ve been recommended this by my girlfriends but mega expensive so actually bought one off ebay!
