Hi All,

Pregnant with baby number 1, due end of July 2021. Was hoping that we could get a thread going for those due around the same time (or sooner!) so that we can chat through our experiences and help others out. I am totally clueless so would love someone to chat to given we haven't announced yet (i am 7+3 today)!

Aw im really sorry to hear about your mc last year! Hopefully tomorrow is good news for you, let us know how you get on :) good luck!!

MSG92 · 22/12/2020 21:16

@LeaD83 I hope the scan goes well. Fingers crossed for you.

Has anyone had symptoms disappear? I'm 10+2 saw a heartbeat at 7+5 (had a private scan due to previous MC) since about 9weeks my symptoms eased, and now they feel like they've disappeared. Should I worry? I've had no cramping or bleeding but I'm just concerned as previously I felt sick all day, now I don't, boobs aren't as sore, only hurt if you press really...

RachShad · 22/12/2020 22:24

Aw I wouldn't worry too much if you've had no reason to worry. Im sure all will be fine. Alot of people do say symptoms ease suddenly and they feel the same way as you but actually probably just your hormones have adjusted to your body. I hope my symptoms ease soon!! I am nauseous still at 10+6 and doesn't seem to be budging. Cant wait for the day that I say it has disappeared haha

MSG92 · 23/12/2020 09:53

@RachShad thanks, I think just after my MC in August I just cannot relax this time round. I really don't feel any symptoms anymore, haven't for about a week or more. But then I've not had cramping or bleeding either so... 🤔 Just have to hope everything is fine. Don't get me wrong, it's nice not feeling sick constantly, but when I was at least I thought everything was ok

Flittingaboutagain · 23/12/2020 11:13

I know what you mean it is really hard as when I had a MMC and my symptoms hadn't really changed I was clueless apart from a bit of pain but no bleeding but have also seen midwives reassure people that symptoms can come and go it can be fine!

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 23/12/2020 14:13

I'm struggling to believe that I'm actually pregnant at the moment as my nausea has massively reduced. I think if I hadn't known a few people who found out they had had a MMC at their 12 week scan I'd be happier.
We've got our scan on Tuesday and I'm hoping after that it will start to sink in a bit! We haven't told anyone, and today I have been given Christmas presents at work that are definitely alcohol so I'm even feeling guilty about that!

RachShad · 23/12/2020 14:18

How far on are you? Have you suffered really badly from nausea? I have too! The midwife actually told me that I would wake up one morning and think to myself 'wow I feel like my old self again' and one day I will just actually feel normal and it should all disappear. I can't wait for that! I'm sure all is well with you, the nausea is the pregnancy hormone in your body so if your body is starting to adjust to the hormones then the symptoms will die off x

Cressie2 · 23/12/2020 23:42

@MSG92 my symptoms disappeared at 11 weeks. I still have tender boobs but no nausea and feel pretty normal. I promise you they will ease! xx

MSG92 · 24/12/2020 09:17

@Cressie2 thanks. I felt a bit nauseas this morning, nothing like I was a few weeks ago but it made me feel a little better, ironic! Maybe my placenta took over early, I read 8-12 weeks average being 10 so maybe mine was 9🙏

RachShad · 24/12/2020 09:21

Aw great thankyou. Im fed up lol x

Dogmom92 · 27/12/2020 20:46

Hey all! Sorry i have been MIA - had a lot going on work and house wise lately!

Im one of the ones that hasnt really had many symptoms so half the time im forgetting that im preg and the other half worrying if i actually am!
I cancelled our private scan on the 29th as lockdown measures became more strict here and with our 12 week scan on the 14th it seemed it wasnt worth the risk.

I see we have had some more people join - hope you are all doing okay - any Christmas announcements? Im not sure what ill do yet to announce!

@SamoyedFan123 hi I also have covid and feel utter rubbish! I'm almost 10 weeks and my pregnancy symptoms have also reduced and now I've had spotting I'm so worried Sad

RachShad · 27/12/2020 22:36

I'm sure all will be okay girls, just try to think positively. My best friend had no symptoms either barely and went on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. Everyone is so different, im going into my 12th week and things are definitely starting to get better now. I still feel sick on a morning but before now the nausea was lasting ALL day which was unbareable. Hopefully not too much longer and ill be abit better on a morning too! As if I didnt hate mornings to start with haha, but I start feeling better around dinner time although now I find that I am extremely hungry all the time!! Anyone?? Like no filling me at all x

RachShad · 27/12/2020 22:37

Anyone else??**

SamoyedFan123 · 28/12/2020 08:21

@tobeornottobe1 you poor thing, it's just awful isn't it? I'm now on day 11 of feeling absolutely rubbish with it - it's just hanging on and on. I think being pregnant may make it harder for our immune systems to fight it off perhaps? I did worry that it was affecting my pregnancy at first because my symptoms really reduced, but I've found that as the Covid has gradually improved a little my pregnancy symptoms have returned strongly, despite me being over 12 weeks now. I think that maybe our bodies just don't have the energy to put into everything at once and I'm sure your symptoms will start to return soon too. I really hope you feel better soon - 1st trimester and Covid together isn't fun 😭

@RachShad before i got Covid I had found my appetite had returned big style, however if I actually ate much i felt awful afterwards (and still do).

MSG92 · 28/12/2020 09:24

I had covid in the peak of my symptoms, 7 weeks pregnant. My smell still hasn't returned, I'm now just coming into week 12 of pregnancy, it has to be very strong for me to smell it. Quite thankful for that tbh as I couldn't empty the food bin when I was first pregnant, thought I was going to be sick every time I opened it!

I told my parents in Christmas day, we had to tell the inlaws a few days before that due to DH's little sister planning on coming for Christmas (before rules changed) and she was coming from Germany to London then to us in Devon, DH said she couldn't because of the new strain, he'd already missed work isolating and I'd had it so he didn't want it here again, so we told his parents, but they also knew about our MC in August and my parents didn't. We'll tell everyone else after the scan next week🙏and then I can speak to hr about maternity and start working out finances... Joy!

Anyone else hoping to get some stuff in January sales? I want to see the furniture in person rather than just buy online straight off.

tobeornottobe1 · 28/12/2020 09:59

@SamoyedFan123 oh gosh day 11!! I feel your pain I just want covid over with, every time I feel a little better it just gets worse again, feel like I can't cope now. But you was right I was nauseas and sick early this morning, still worried about the spotting though Sad

RachShad · 28/12/2020 10:37

Have you told your midwife about the spotting? I'm sure they could help offer some advice of whether that's normal or not? I think it is quite common though

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 28/12/2020 20:10

@tobeornottobe1 I have also just started spotting tonight. I'm 12+3 and have my scan tomorrow so am crossing everything that it will all be OK. Its reassuring that so many people have spotting but is still scary when it happens to you. Telling myself that there's nothing that I can do about it and not to worry too much but thats easier said than done!

tobeornottobe1 · 29/12/2020 09:48

@FirstTimeMummy2021 it's so worrying isn't it, glad you have your scan today and I'm sure it'll all be fine! ❤️

Janethat · 29/12/2020 18:22

Hi 👋I'm 10wks today and due at the end of July 2021 just awaiting scan date so I can see my little one. Im soooo tired and nausea its horrible this is my 5th child and I should remember this bit but I really had forgot how bad I could feel 🤦‍♀️. Hope everyone is ok xx

RachShad · 29/12/2020 19:39

Aw the nausea for me has been so so bad its unbareable some days! This is my first though I dont know how you've done this 5 times over hahaha! Good on you though 🙌

Janethat · 29/12/2020 20:31

Ha ha yes I wonder sometimes 🤣 and thank you I've had a awful headache today from the minute I woke I've just had 1 paracetamol and its knocked the pain off for a bit thankfully.

MillyJS · 29/12/2020 21:08

My nausea's also still constant. I can't remember what it feels like to not feel sick 😂

I got a letter this morning from the blood transfusion dept at my local hospital informing me I'm rhesus negative blood type so require additional injections during and after pregnancy. I've never heard of this before so had a major panic but after some Googling it sounds mostly precautionary.

I still don't have an NHS scan date (I'm 10 +4) so hoping I get that through soon!

Really hoping symptoms ease off for us all soon 🤞🏻
