Is around who's due in April 2021? How are you feeling?

I was in a thread on here in early pregnancy, dropped off when I joined the buddies Facebook group, I'm still in it but its not really for me.... I miss having a place to go to chat pregnancy though.

OP posts:

@BaaHumbugg I’d requested section anyway as didn’t want VBAC Smile

Has anyone noticed prices for branded baby stuff suddenly shooting up. We bought the pram and car seat already, but when browsing last night saw that they both went up everywhere from around £30 to £50 each.

Then started looking at the other stuff we wanted to buy, and could see that the bigger purchase items have gone up everywhere!

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 18/02/2021 12:44

@MsHedgehog that's frustrating, haven't bought anything for a few weeks and need to get sorted this weekend so will have to grin and bear the price rises.

I am noticing that everywhere seems to be out of stock. There's a changing bag I like - out of stock. Half of the things on the John Lewis website are out of stock!

I remember asking the midwife if it was okay that my baby kept hiccuping, and told them I didn't have a clue what I was doing! This was about 3am on the postnatal ward, they were really lovely and told me nobody knows what they're doing! Grin

BaaHumbugg · 18/02/2021 13:44

There must be a lot of babies due in Spring hence the prices going up!

flappityflippers1 · 18/02/2021 14:01

I expect brexit is having an impact, particularly in regards to the OOS items - I work in the nursery industry and we only sell items that are in our uk warehouse, but stuff does go out of stock while we’re waiting for our deliveries from Europe.

Things are taking ages for delivery too. We’re normally delivering in 3 days, it’s been up to 10 atm!

I’ve ordered new inner tubes for my mountain buggy and they’ve taken 5 weeks as coming from Europe 😳

Catlady21 · 19/02/2021 18:26

Anyone feel like they're carrying everything but the kitchen sink in their uterus? I'm 33+2 but feel full term already. I'm seriously lacking any energy and motivation too.

MsHedgehog · 19/02/2021 18:32

Yep! I'm 33+2 too and until I spoke to others in my NCT group was genuinely concerned that I'm really unfit (not moved much at all the past couple of months - wfh, etc).

I just about managed to walk over a mile yesterday and today, I couldn't even walk for 2 minutes before I couldn't carry on...as though that short walk yday completely zapped all my energy!

BaaHumbugg · 19/02/2021 18:40

Yes! I feel so massive compared to my first pregnancy even though I'm probably not much bigger in reality! I've had about 3 naps today as everytime I try and do something I get exhausted. I can't wait for this to be over Grin

Catlady21 · 19/02/2021 18:44

Yeah, I feel so much bigger than with the previous two. I've been napping a lot today on the sofa too, been a terrible mum and left the children to their tablets.

A mile walk? I can just about making the toilet and back! Well done you!

flappityflippers1 · 19/02/2021 19:14

We went for a walk at the weekend, and I had to ring my mum to come and pick us up as I couldn't go on any more Blush

I'm struggling so much now, how can bump get any bigger?!

Catlady21 · 19/02/2021 19:21

Anyone else getting what I'm guessing is ligament pain to the side and sometimes underneath the bump? Sitting down it's totally fine but rolling over or walking if can be quite painful. I don't remember this in my previous pregnancies.

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 19/02/2021 19:22

I'm really struggling too! Second pregnancy and much harder than the first. I'm looking full term at almost 32 wks. God knows how I'll manage 7 more weeks. Can barely waddle to the loo tbh. I used to walk to collect my LG from preschool, a half mile there and the same back. No way I could do that now!

MsHedgehog · 19/02/2021 19:27

@Catlady21

I was actually ashamed at doing only a mile and really struggling at the end, so thank you so much!!

As selfish as it sounds, knowing others are struggling is reassuring!

drumst1ck · 19/02/2021 20:42

Struggling here as well! First pregnancy genuinely feels like it was a breeze compared! Peppa pig has been on far too much and I keep dropping off on the sofa while DD is watching it...top parenting!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 22/02/2021 11:52

Morning all, how is everyone?

I'm having the joys of technology failures whilst attempting to WFH today, so thought I'd pop on. I'm so done with being pregnant now, and with lockdown! So grateful that the end is in sight, but it feels such a slog now.

BaaHumbugg · 22/02/2021 13:44

Same here just ready for it to be over! I think the lockdown and lack of things to do is making this feel like a 2 year pregnancy!

Wavesandsmilesencore · 22/02/2021 19:55

Oh I’m with you on feeling like this is a 2 year pregnancy! And now it feels like there is either a lifetime or no time at all until d day... I am SO tired and feel huge, and just walking to the school bus stop seems to be a mission. More so this afternoon when I spotted my dog running down the road as we walked back (older daughter had left the garden gate open!) and I had to chase her and carry her home (dog, not daughter....)

Has anyone tried perineal massage? My midwife highly recommended doing it from 34 weeks which for me will be the weekend. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube tutorials and understand the principle but i can’t quite understand how to possible do it with this big belly in the way! I’m sure my husband would be obliging if I asked him to do it but just not sure I’m ready to give up my last shred of dignity and sex appeal yet haha

Definitely feels like there is ages to go but yet not much time to do everything in. I'm not organised at all, but then again I wasn't with my first and it all worked out fine!

I've not tried perineal massage either, just about manage to do pelvic floor when I remember Grin

SunnySideUp2020 · 23/02/2021 05:03

@LuckyFlash
Tried at the weekend.
DH did it as i can't reach...
It's weird. And couldn't do it for too long as it srings.
But i think we will do it to try until the birth!
