Thankfully I already had some in, my mum had advised just having some handy and I’m so glad I did. She’s finally just gone to sleep in her basket.

Babyhope98 · 06/12/2020 08:45

Congratulations to all the new mummy’s and good luck to the ones that are almost there 💕

Kj1010 · 06/12/2020 08:58

Congrats to all new mummies my turn tomorrow I'm so excited but scared at same time

Babyevictionimminent · 06/12/2020 09:04

Our little boy arrived on the 2nd Dec. He came very quickly - 20 minutes after my waters broke! We’re getting on well- just a nightly battle to persuade him that his own bed is just as comfortable as ours.

Congratulations to all the new arrivals and good luck to those still waiting. I’ve gone to bed every night feeling SO comfortable compared to those last few weeks of pregnancy!

kkr168 · 06/12/2020 09:59

Congratulations to all the new mummy's, looks as though a few of us had our babies on the 2nd x

@Kj1010 Good luck for tomorrow x

Our baby boy is still nameless, we really need to decide!!

So after a sleepless friday night due to his nose being so bunged up, we tried saline drops & a warm mist humidifier, it seems to have done the job but........he just wanted to stay on my boob all night, he wasn't drinking just purely using me for comfort. I couldn't face another night of no sleep, I've barely slept since he was born, so we gave him a dummy. He took to it straight away & had a 3 hour sleep, heaven!!

loobeelou · 06/12/2020 09:59

Congratulations @Babyevictionimminent

Charl88 · 06/12/2020 10:29

Congratulations to all of you who have had your gorgeous babies ❤!!
How many of us are left? Xx

Amyyy1 · 06/12/2020 10:35

@PipTed @Babyevictionimminent Congratulations both, hope you are enjoying the newborn cuddles 😍

@Charl88 I'm 4 days overdue and all signs of anything starting have stopped completely 😓

FTM1512 · 06/12/2020 10:46

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies - so good to hear they all made it safely ☺️

@Charl88 - I am due 15/12 but have been booked in for an induction this Tuesday as baby has measured big throughout. At my appt on Monday she was on the 92nd centile and so I was offered by my consultant either an induction or elective section. Can't believe il be meeting her sooner than we thought! 💜

loobeelou · 06/12/2020 10:49

@Charl88 I'm not due until 26th 🤪

LRHRN · 06/12/2020 10:53

@Asianchick6693 she doesn't do many, maybe 2 over 24hrs. She always seems like she's got tummy ache though 😭

She has a full wet nappy every 1 1/2-2hrs.

HV told me to take a supplement and use the drops. I'd never heard of this before.

I give her an expressed bottle 3oz at about 9ish and then about 12.30 she didn't wake for a feed until 5.10 this morning which was great but she was really grunty all night.
When I put her on the boob she only seems to feed for 5-10mins max before she's zonked.
I'm seriously contemplating switching to just express bottles or formula but really don't want to give up yet. She's gaining weight but worried I'm causing her tummy ache

NaomiB79 · 06/12/2020 10:57

Congratulations to all the new mummies...so many babies have been born now it's fabulous! 💗💙.

@Kj1010 good luck tomorrow, you'll be great xx

LRHRN · 06/12/2020 11:03

Congratulations to all you lovely new mummy's 💕
Not long now for the rest of you, wishing you all the best of luck xxx

LRHRN · 06/12/2020 11:06

@kkr168 the dummy is my best friend. Midwife in hospital advised us to give her a dummy as it helps them regulate their breathing and their suckling technique.
When I had my other 2 they practically chased me out of the hospital cause I'd given them dummies 😂😂

loobeelou · 06/12/2020 11:18

@kkr168 when DS was born he started using me as a human dummy and my HV said it was fine to give him a dummy for my sanity 😂

It's strange how there are so many inconsistencies with things like this, it's so confusing!

NaomiB79 · 06/12/2020 12:28

@kkr168 my baby is the same with the boob and uses it for comfort, it's the only thing that calms her down and settles her when she's upset but I'm worried she's over feeding because of it and it is really tying!

We've tried her with a dummy instead but she doesn't like it and just spits it out, any advice to help her take the dummy better?

LRHRN · 06/12/2020 13:10

@NaomiB79 we use the mam 0-6m dummies for our baby and she takes them well. Tried her with the tommee tippee one and she wouldn't take it so it may just be down to the dummy maybe?

NaomiB79 · 06/12/2020 13:28

@LRHRN thanks I have a few different kinds in the cupboard, think I'll just get them all out, sterilise them and try them all to see if she'll take any of them x

kkr168 · 06/12/2020 13:46

Our 1st born didn't have a dummy, he was bottle fed though so the complete opposite this time. We used a basic dummy last night that came with a tommee tippee bottle starter pack, I've ordered some other tommee tippee breast like dummy's on prime. Love a bit of prime, ordered this morning for guaranteed delivery today by 10pm.

Other then the night time issues he has been an absolute dream, we've been out every day getting plenty of use with the close caboo carrier, he looks so cosy in it.

danielasummer · 06/12/2020 14:24

I'm using nuk dummies 0-2 months and so far so good with breast feeding along side them. I hold them in for a few seconds until he gets used to it xx

lc86 · 06/12/2020 14:30

Harri was born 4th December, 9lb 12oz. We are so in love 🥰

Nic2908 · 06/12/2020 15:01

Congratulations to all these new beautiful babies. There are all beautiful.

38+5 today.... feeling very big and very impatient.

Pinktruffle · 06/12/2020 15:35

I feel like I've missed lots of announcements but little one is keeping me busy. Congratulations to everyone who has had their little ones over the last few days, I hope you are all recovering well and little ones are thriving.

Solidarity to @peachypetite, @Asianchick6693 and @NaomiB79 the sleepless nights are certainly challenging, I've had a couple of nights where I feel like I've got close to the end of my tether, luckily it seems DH and I seem to lose it at alternate times so one of us has always been calm and willing to take over

Kj1010 · 06/12/2020 19:18

@NaomiB79 thankyou I've actually been quite chilled today but have been busy so ain't had time to think about the looming day lol just want it over n done with and him here safe @jalu47 did u go in for induction today ?
