Hi all. Is any one else suffering from insomnia due to feeling so nausea? Was advised to go to hospital today by midwife as have had headaches all week, and I'm high risk as my mother had a stroke in pregnancy. As suspected headaches were likely from vomitting, to be given fluids but no anti sickness meds. Just told to discuss it with my consultant after 12 week scan on Monday. Wheres the glow I was told about?

Garman · 29/11/2020 07:40

Sorry @Fishingforhapiness there is no glow, that's all a lie! And if there is a reprieve that looks like a glow it's usually not until well into second trimester. I don't have insomnia but I wouldn't know if I did anyway really, 2dc who are terrible sleepers and wake me about every 2 hours. Exhausted.

AlRRRR · 29/11/2020 07:58

Hey smile

Just woke up this morning to a bit of blood on tissue when I wiped. Minimal, no pain or cramping. Just streaks, I’m 10 weeks plus 2 days.

Has anyone experienced this, this late? I am going to ring the EPU at 8:30 when they open, but just wondered if anyone has experienced it? smile

LemonRizzle · 29/11/2020 08:51

Thanks all, @ChasingARainbow yes I was desperate for a wee and they were running behind!

@AlRRRR how did you get on with EPU, are they seeing you?

Good luck to all who have scans this week, looking forward to seeing your pictures x

AlRRRR · 29/11/2020 08:53

They have to triage me first,😂😂😂😂 It’s a Sunday so not hopeful

Garman · 29/11/2020 09:04

I had that at 10 weeks with my first, tmi but I think it was after sex about 24 hours before. I have a cervical erosion so figured it was just that, it wasn't enough on its own for me to bother worrying about, all turned out fine.

Firsttimeconcerns · 29/11/2020 09:29

@AlRRRR

I had this but earlier on than you. I had it around 6 weeks and it lasted 2 days, stopped and then happened again a couple of days later.

I waa referred to EPAU and they caried out a scan and detected a heartbeat. I had a private scan yesterday and 10 weeks and all is okay.

Midwifes have reassured me it's very common to have spotting on wiping.

Popping my head in! I'm 11+3 and very anxious. Not my first pregnancy, but hoping for a baby this time! Even posting in a forum made me feel like a was "counting my chickens."

It's so lovely to see everyone's scan pictures ❤️

Scan on Thursday for me and I'm a bit terrified! Getting the NIPT at the same time. Does anyone know how quickly these come back? I can't quite believe we can find out the sex so early, is anyone planning to do this?

AlRRRR · 29/11/2020 09:49

They said because I have no pain and blood was red and on wiping, they’re not concerned and it’s quite normal :) I have my 12 week scan in couple of weeks anyway :)

Viper84 · 29/11/2020 10:48

Hi @AIRRRR I had this at 10 weeks plus 2 days. I also had some pain, I went for a scan and all was as it should be and the midwife said it was very common and sometimes they can’t explain why you bleed.

I just took it easy for a few days, waiting for my next scan on the 7th where I will be 12weeks 5 days.

Xxx

ChasingARainbow · 29/11/2020 11:07

@Nellle I'm 11 weeks and 6days, had the NIPT bloods last Friday and they said can take 10 working days, we've picked to find out the sex of the baby as well which is something I always thought we'd never do and wait for a surprise especially as it's our first but seeing the box there to tick on the form was too tempting. I've got my NHS scan this Wednesday so keeping my fingers crossed the baby is developing fineSmile

Nellle · 29/11/2020 13:30

@chasingarainbow Yes, I don't think we'll be able to resist either!

Waitingforbabypage · 29/11/2020 16:00

Can I pick some brains?
I'm having a little bit of cramping low down, kinda where my undies sit and kidney pain.
Having had a uti and antibiotics already, I'm guessing it's moved up to my kidneys.
Should I call my gp or mention it in the prenatal clinic I'm in tomorrow while having my glucose tolerance test?

Ivybutterfly · 29/11/2020 17:29

I would call your doctor as soon as you can. Better safe than sorry. You might need more antibiotics. Get well soon.

Garman · 29/11/2020 21:27

Just had quite a bit of sudden. bright red bleeding there out of nowhere, never had that in either of my previous pregnancies, that's not good 😔 10+1 today, will see how tonight goes and possibly call my midwife tomorrow depending on what's going on by then.

Snally82 · 29/11/2020 21:38

Our NIPT results are a 5 to 7 day turnaround. We had the test today

pookypup · 29/11/2020 22:26

@Garman I hope it settles down for you. You’ve not mentioned any pain, so hopefully nothing too serious. Let us know how you get on.

Garman · 30/11/2020 00:51

@pookypup unfortunately I've had mild period type cramps all evening since so definitely doesn't bode well. I get a lot of cramps day to day but they feel different, these feel much more like normal period ones. Can't sleep of course, great night ahead!

kahstorm · 30/11/2020 07:25

Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking for a few weeks now, but I thought I might as well properly join! I found out I am pregnant a few weeks ago. I was on the pill, so it was a big surprise! I’m not entirely sure on dates, I think I am around 10 weeks. I am very nervous as although we do want two children, I only had my baby 7 months ago and unfortunately he was born at 26 weeks due to some severe complications with myself, so is technically only 4 months old. It’s not been plain sailing for us as it took us 5 years to conceive him so I was in utter shock that I fell pregnant so quickly whilst on protection. My mind is all over the place right now and I’m super worried what will happen. Hope everyone is doing well! X

Tatty1987 · 30/11/2020 08:50

@Garman how’s things been overnight and this morning? Hope you managed to get some sleep

Ivybutterfly · 30/11/2020 09:18

@kahstorm you are more fertile after having a baby. It is such an anxious time but I am sure everything will be okay. Best of luck. Xx

pookypup · 30/11/2020 09:30

@Garman hope you are ok, and can get to speak with or see someone today.

Garman · 30/11/2020 10:47

Thanks for checking on me ladies. Had more bleeding this morning and cramps all night and still going, so my midwife told me to go to the hospital to be checked over this morning. Surprisingly the doctor there said the bleeding is mild and cervix is closed, waiting on a call to go back for a scan in epu. Got a bit of a bad attitude from the doctor because I wouldn't consent to some standard health checks without my specific midwife due to birth trauma, but the info wouldn't make a difference to anything at this stage so I stood my ground.

Just wait and see now really, I'm not hopeful with constant cramping though.

pookypup · 30/11/2020 15:08

@Garman pleased to hear that you were at least seen, and hopefully scanned soon. I’ve forgotten whether you have had any scans already?

Fingers crossed for you that it settles down.

Garman · 30/11/2020 15:11

@pookypup I had a private scan at 6+4. Very frustrating they couldn't just send me up for the scan this morning, I've to call back tomorrow at 1pm if I haven't heard from them by then.
