@Garman thinking of you, awful to be left waiting but hope you get good news at your scan xx

BurningBenches · 30/11/2020 15:55

Oh @garman thinking of you. I hope you hear soon.

I had my scan today, feeling a bit meh really as although everything looked ok (it was far quicker than my previous) baby was not in a good position and so nuchal could not be done. Tried weeing and jumping up and down but no good.
I'm 41 so this was really important to me. They suggested quad test at 16wks which is not as good I don't think, also 16wks is late. So now trying to book an NIPT and hoping that's not too late :(

pookypup · 30/11/2020 17:11

@BurningBenches I would be upset by not being able to get that too. Such a shame they wouldn’t rescan you! Could you speak to your midwife?

I think NIPT can be done anytime, so should be ok. It’s expensive though!

Did they adjust your due date?

SarahTTC2020 · 30/11/2020 17:18

@BurningBenches ah that's a shame that they wouldn't just rescan you
@garman keeping my fingers crossed for you

My app says I've reached 2nd trimester today at 13 weeks... Seems crazy! It's gone so slowly but quick at the same time

Fishingforhapiness · 30/11/2020 17:51

Had my scan today after a horrible weekend in hospital due to HG. At the end the sonographer briefly mentions I have a anterior intramural fibroid...but its high up and try not to worry. It was at the end and took me by surprise as I was so caught up seeing the baby. I have a done a Doctor Google .... now I'm a bit worried! Has anyone else got experience of this? On the better news size baby was very active and all looked well and I was bought forwards a day! EDD 11th June.

BurningBenches · 30/11/2020 17:57

@pookypup and @SarahTTC2020 yeah that's what I kind of expected, I guess there isn't time perhaps. I mean I did try weeing and jumping up and down as requested, never mind. It was also the shortest scan I've had in 5 pregnancies, the sonographer wasn't unkind but she wasn't kind either. May be that's just the mask effect though, it's hard to see warmth.

Ive booked an apt at the private clinic tomorrow. She's offered to try and redo the nuchal scan and depending on the results of that do either nuchal or NIPT bloods. I'm also going to hopefully book my 20wk anomaly scan privately now and not have the NHS one, DH is CV and the clinic (it is not a chain, is run by a Dr and is recommended by our hospital) is small and spacious. I wouldnt consider if it wasn't a medical clinic iyswim but as it is and it's recommended I will.

BurningBenches · 30/11/2020 17:58

Oh and @pookypup my EDD is the same as I worked out with my short cycles, 12th June.

pookypup · 30/11/2020 18:12

Sounds like a really helpful approach by the private scan.

I paid out for NIPT a week before my NHS scan (which was unexpectedly brought forwards). The NT was only 1.3mm, so now wondering if I could have saved the £450!

I know it does test for more and is a more reliable indicator for results though.

BurningBenches · 30/11/2020 18:31

@pookypup I am really tempted by the NIPT not least because I'll find out the sex! But equally £550 is ouch.

She is very good. I had an 8wk scan with her last pregnancy and she's really not one to upsell if that makes sense.

PinkPlantCase · 30/11/2020 20:09

Hi ladies I’ve had a really rough few days. I’ve been very dizzy, they don’t think it’s pregnancy related because there’s clearly something wrong with my balance. I can’t walk to the toilet on my own and I can’t sit up to work and it’s been like this for 4 days now.

Doctors have been really responsive but they’ve reached a point where they said we just have to wait for it to get better.

Everyone’s reaction is just ‘oh it’s because you’re pregnant’ like that makes it okay!!! It’s so bloody annoying and I’m so bored.

Garman · 01/12/2020 02:00
