My husband has made a comparison table of the Bugaboo fox, silver cross pioneer, icandy peach and ocarro bless him, so we have. John Lewis appt this week to discuss and hopefully help!

Tatty1987 · 18/01/2021 05:22

@BlondePotter let us know how you get on. Interested to see which you prefer after your appt!

Good morning :)

Can anyone feel any movements yet? I'm 17 wks + 4 days and thought I could at 15 weeks and the nothing, maybe sometimes. With my first I first felt movement at about 22 weeks, I started showing at 26 weeks haha !

Any one got anything yet?

Amy :)

Dragonfly92 · 18/01/2021 11:44

@ReleaseTheStars I'm with you on the egg mayo sandwiches! It's been my recent craving but I now have no mayo in the house!!

@AIRRRR I think I've been feeling some movement. I had the bubbling/popping sensation a couple of times around 16/17 weeks, but I went days without feeling anything so thought I'd imagined it. More recently (18 + 4) I think I can feel more of a rolling movement. Again this isn't every day and just as and when at the moment.

Edelweiss2020 · 18/01/2021 12:30

I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and for the last week I’ve felt definite movement and little kicks, but for about a week or so before that it was just a guessing game of whether random sensations were baby or not!

Got our 20 week scan on Wednesday and fingers crossed my husband can come, he is really excited to see the baby, he asks me every day if he think he’ll be able to feel them move yet - baby probably won’t kick when he can feel because his hands are always freezing 😂

lucieloos · 18/01/2021 12:48

@AlRRRR I'm 18 weeks and have felt definite little movements for the last week or so but I'm on third baby so was expected earlier.

northerngal20 · 18/01/2021 13:50

@AlRRRR i'm the same as you, 17+4! i feel like i can't tell if i'm feeling anything yet - i definitely have like a twitchy/bubbly feeling where i think my uterus is sometimes, mostly late at night or after i eat, (or today just after my dog barked at me - haha) but it's impossible to say yet if it's muscle twitches/gas/just my imagination. i'm hoping in the next two weeks or so to start feeling more definite kicks.

curiouscat1987 · 18/01/2021 14:19

Anyone else getting pelvic girdle pain and having real trouble sleeping? I find laying on my side makes it SO much worse and the pillow between the legs just isnt really helping. When I get up the pain in the pelvis and lower back is so bad I can barely walk and have to hobble to the toilet :(

On a different note, pram wise we're looking at the Oyster 3 - seems a really good price for what seems like a good pram, but no one ever seems to mention it and not sure why. Has anyone else considered it?

Mackie2020 · 18/01/2021 14:28

@curiouscat1987 yep, I'm in quite a lot of pain. Mine is worse after walking, but I also get so stiff sitting at my desk. My pain is worse at the bottom of my bump & my groin. I've left a message with my midwife this morning for advice. I don't want to take daily painkillers if I can avoid it, & may see if I can get a referral to physio. My sleep isn't too bad, but I wake when I roll over & feel uncomfortable if I stay in one position too long.

AlRRRR · 18/01/2021 15:03

@northerngal20 So we're exactly the same! I'm due 24th June and live in West Yorkshire :)

@curiouscat1987 I have SPD (self diagnosed haha) but only mild so if i lay on my side the right side of pubic pain starts to ache and ache until i change position. The other night I had to get up at 4 am to walk around and get a drink and then it eased it. I find sitting crossed legged and changing sides i'm leaning on helps. Always worse if I take my usual 1 hour walk with my 4 yr old :)

AlRRRR · 18/01/2021 15:05

I have a yoyo plus, with a newborn insert and change it to the seat option at 6 months ish.

I have a Bugaboo buffalo (no longer made) for longer, bumpy off road walking. I had both from previous pregnancy. I tend to use the Yoyo much more and can take this on board every plane, train, bus and it folds into the footwell or over head lockers with ease. Just put baby a sling whilst doing that

curiouscat1987 · 18/01/2021 16:10

@Mackie2020 @AIRRRR I mentioned it to the midwife today and she said to avoid anything like crossed legs etc. I said it actually felt much less painful for me when I crossed my legs but she just smiled and said I shouldnt do it as it makes it worse.....:( I can't easily roll over at night as it hurts and quite often I can hear a loud clunking/crunching sounds and feels like some of the bones are realigning or something, not nice!

I did get a physio referral for it the other week though so hopefully they'll have some good suggestions!

Opticabbage · 18/01/2021 16:14

Yes, don't cross your legs! I swear it makes all your joints separate. I'm struggling today because I can't even get comfy sitting at my desk ony gym ball.

You're all very organised regarding prams etc!

Mackie2020 · 18/01/2021 16:20

@curiouscat1987 I keep getting the clicking joints too. Let us know what the physio says!

@Opticabbage I haven't even started looking at prams yet... Not bought a single thing. Still feels too early!

AlRRRR · 18/01/2021 16:47

@curiouscat1987 Oh, haha it actually does feel better sat crossed legged! haha Oopss,

I’ve been doing some stretching exercises as well and it seems to feel better them!

Fightingtobepositive · 18/01/2021 16:51

Hello all. I have 1 cup of normal tea a day. I seem to have a terrible headache without it and that’s all if I have another it’s a decaf, and maybe a glass of coke at the weekend. It’s so hard to know what’s best.

I haven’t bought a single thing or looked 😳 I know I need to start but I’m such an anxious person.

@Mackie2020 @curiouscat1987 I have quite a bit of discomfort to. Especially when moving through the night, I also hobble to the toilet and have sharp pains when weeing on occasions to.

So had my 20 week scan today. Good news with the baby, they said all looked fine 🙏🤞 so that was nice to hear. But I am a little concerned because they said that my placenta is completely covering the birth canal so very likely will need a cesarian. I’ve been quite emotional over it, I know it’s dramatic, but I’m so scared, it’s freaked me out a little. Even had a few cry’s. But feel guilty because the baby had good news and I should be focussed on that. Aw I crazy?

MimiDaisy11 · 18/01/2021 16:57

@AlRRRR
I feel moving but it's not in any routine - some days more than others. I can definitely relate to the descriptions I've read of it as bubbling or a popping feeling. It can depend on your placenta and other factors on when you feel it.

I had my 20-week scan today and thankfully all looks well :). I also managed to resist finding out the sex as the sonographer did ask if we wanted to know. Does anyone else here have growth scans to go to in weeks 30 & 34? It was a bit concerning to find out I might need them but it'll also be good to see the baby again.

MimiDaisy11 · 18/01/2021 17:05

@Fightingtobepositive
I know natural births are promoted more than caesarians but there are risks to natural births that you don't get with caesarians. Both have advantages and disadvantages but you just hear more about caesarians as vaginal is seen as the default. I'm sure it's emotional to have just found out that's the likely outcome but hopefully you can be prepared and feel better about it. Good news about the baby being fine :)

BlondePotter · 18/01/2021 18:12

@Fightingtobepositive I had mine today too but anterior high. Of course it's ok to be upset, feels like a choice has been taken away from you. My friend had this but her placenta had moved out of the way before the birth so she didn't have a c section 💛
It was lovely to see baby again today, still team yellow. Had whooping cough jab too.

northerngal20 · 18/01/2021 18:14

@AlRRRR yay yes the 24th June! i'm based down south now but northern at heart Wink

@Fightingtobepositive that sounds really tough to get your head around - did they say there's much chance of the placenta moving upwards? will you have any extra appointments? i haven't had either a natural or caesarian birth yet so can't comment on either, but yes i'm sure there are risks and pros to both, try not to worry, you'll be in really good hands!

very exciting to hear about these healthy 20 week scans. i'm getting quite nervous about mine now but also really excited to find out the gender and to start buying things!

AlRRRR · 18/01/2021 18:24

@northerngal20 ah okay! When is your 20 wk scan? Mines 4th feb. I’ve got myself in a worrisome state as they saw a 4cm ovarian cyst (nothing to worry about they said) and will be checking if it’s deceased in size or they will monitor more closer as if it gets too big, they take it out 😳😳😳

AlRRRR · 18/01/2021 18:26

@Fightingtobepositive A friend had this up to 36 weeks and then it just moved, like it always had the plan to!!!

LemonRizzle · 18/01/2021 20:22

@Fightingtobepositive congrats on the good news re the scan! I think it's perfectly normal to feel devastated this early at the thought of a c-section but there's still plenty of time for your placenta to move. Any of us could end up with a c-section out of our control so think of the positives, if you do get one you can be 100% prepared knowing the date! The risk of bleeding can be controlled and managed safely to ensure you and baby are safe in theatre if it stays put so try not to worry, take it as it comes and enjoy your pregnancy and looking forward to meeting baby Smile

@AIRRRR it's my first pregnancy, think I felt the bubble popping sensation at 19 weeks but definite movements this past week (22 weeks tomorrow) OH felt baby kick at the weekend which he said was creepy and gross Hmm

Waitingforbabypage · 18/01/2021 20:22

Lovely seeing all these nice updates, @Fightingtobepositive sorry you got some worrisome news, hopefully it'll move on up and you'll have your options open again.

I've been suffering with a migraine since 3 yesterday afternoon, and now my kidneys have started hurting me again. I believe this baby is my third and last- it's as if my body is telling me I'm done now. It won't cope with another.
