@BlondePotter my nipples are tingly and itchy on and off, drives me bonkers.
@Nellle in 19 weeks with my third and only feel little flutters still, I am so impatient to start feeling "proper" kicks.

I'm really chuffing hungry today, all I want is McDonald's- nothing else is even coming close to me wanting to eat it. Just forced myself to eat some quiche and salad but I hated every mouthful. ☹️ can you believe my 4 year old stepson passed up McDonald's and asked for a cheese sarnie instead?! 😱

Bs93 · 10/01/2021 14:25

@MadameBonfamille @AIRRRR thank you! I’ve calmed down for now haha. I definitely didn’t put it up any higher than a finger anyway, I’ve ordered some natural yoghurt with the shop and I’ll call the GP if no improvement next week!

Also on another note, had the early gender scan the other day and found out we’re having a boy 😊 which is what my instinct had said all along. My husband thought girl and always pictured a daughter so I think he’s still getting his head round it! Boy names are so much harder than girl names.

There’s a really good deal on silver cross prams at the minute for a travel set, but I’m 17 weeks tomorrow and feel it’s too early to buy a pram! Such a dilemma, what’s everyone else doing? And has everyone told people by now? Planning to do some kind of Facebook post to make sure wider friends all know but think I’ll wait til 20 week scan

LP15132 · 10/01/2021 15:25

@LemonRizzle

Thank you for this - it make sense now why there has been some resistance i just wish they'd have given me a similar explanation at the time 😆

Lovethatjourneyforme · 10/01/2021 17:11

What's everyone planning to do/buy in terms of moses basket or bedside cot etc? And does anyone have cats and what are you intending to do about them during the night?? To prevent them getting in to the cot I mean.

swiftt · 10/01/2021 17:18

Well I ended up getting a pram today! Found an amazing deal on a second hand one and it’s totally immaculate. Feels a little early but at least I can stop googling them all now and overwhelming myself.

I’m 18+3, was feeling quite a few flutters and taps all week and nothing for the past day or two. I know it’s normal, it’s just worrying. I can’t wait for them to be regular and obvious movements!

@Lovethatjourneyforme I'm bed sharing as with my first I did the whole cot thing, own bed, self sooth and my god, it made my life hell, I nearly went mental.

I knowAll babies are different, but in general they just want to be close and on you all day and night, so this time I'm quitting all the hassle and western advice or baby sleeping alone and going straight for bed sharing with perhaps a cot that attaches onto the side of the bed so I can slide baby across when a few months old perhaps. A few friends are following this ans say their lives are different.

With my first I even tried cry it out, own room, and now at age 4, she still gets up in the night and comes to my bed from 9/10/11 pm, so I'm just going to save myself the hassle and ditch the cot hahahahhaah

AlRRRR · 10/01/2021 17:43

@Bs93 I really wouldn't worry! You'll be absolutely fine ! x

Jinglebells87 · 10/01/2021 18:28

@Bs93 Congratulations on finding out you are having a boy! I'm convinced that we are having a boy too but I have to wait 3 more days before we find out! I have a boys name that I love but I am trying to convince my other half. Boys names are very hard to think of though! And it's family tradition to give boys two middle names so we have to think of three!!
Sorry to hear about the thrush, I suffered quite bad with it in the beginning. I started with just cream, then pessary and cream and it still didn't go so I called my doctor and he said use a second pessary (it cost me a small fortune and many trips to the pharmacy!). I think I might be coming down with it again! Bloody nightmare!

CateGoldilocksWins · 10/01/2021 18:39

Hello! I am new to the group and it is amazing to read all your messages and feel I am not alone with my emotions and worries. You all sound like a good bunch. All the best to you all. I am 17 weeks pregnant with our first baby, due date: 21/06/2021. We are so happy and excited!

Humpty11 · 10/01/2021 18:48

@Lovethatjourneyforme we used a Moses basket for my son but he grew out of it by about 3 months so then had to get a cot for in between Moses basket and going into his cotbed in his own room (although probably could have dismantled the cotbed and put it in our room but didn’t really have the room with how our room is).
This time I think we’ll get a next to me and will have a Moses basket for downstairs/ in case the baby doesn’t like how big the next to me is. We have a cat who was never interested in the Moses basket or cot (especially when there was a strange smelling baby in there) but we did make sure that we kept the bedroom door shut just in case he suddenly showed any interest.
I think you can buy cat nets but not sure how effective they are. I would say just be mindful because even if you don’t think they’ll show any interest in trying to get in anywhere, it’s surprising how cats can sniff out a nice warm spot.

Bs93 · 10/01/2021 19:31

@Jinglebells87 thank you!! Even though I’d said boy all along, it still felt like a shock, which makes no sense! Are you hoping for one way or the other or no preference?
I’m 90% sure we will be going with Leo so atleast there’s one name we agree on, and it’s my favourite 😊 that’s a lot of names foryou to think of!!
I hate the cream, makes me feel worse so I never use it anymore. Ah it’s such a pain isnt it! So uncomfortable. I’ve always found the tablet is the only thing to work but obviously a no go. Joys of pregnancy! Bet you’re so excited to find out the gender though 😊

Bs93 · 10/01/2021 19:33

@AIRRRR I’m such a worrier, thank you for your reassurance is genuinely does really help 😊

@CateGoldilocksWins congratulations!! I’m also due on 21st!

Jinglebells87 · 10/01/2021 19:58

@Bs93 I know what you mean about the shock. I actually already have a DD and a DS so really don't have a preference! I'm just happy to find out one way or the other so I can start day dreaming about life with another baby! Smile
Strangely enough our son is called Leo!! I love the name so much still. He is now a super cheeky 4 year old! I did like the name Arlo but other half has put his foot down completely on that one. I really like Felix (once you get over the cat association Grin). I can picture a cheeky little boy called Felix causing mischief!

Lovethatjourneyforme · 10/01/2021 21:58

@Humpty11 at the moment my plan is to get a cot with a cat proof cover for when baby's in our room. We'll try and shut the cats out as much as poss but they will hate it and likely keep us awake nearly as much as the baby will 😅 so I'd like the option to open the door when I've reached the end of my tether with it haha. Will be so much simpler once baby is in their own room!

lucieloos · 11/01/2021 09:53

Had 16 week midwife appt today (at 17 weeks). All went fine and went through all the routine checks and my blood results. I asked her if she would listen to heart beat and she agreed and managed to find it luckily so that's put my mind at rest for a little while. 3 weeks wait until 20 week scan now.

@AlRRRR another who has done bed sharing. I never thought we would with my first. I got the next to me and everything set up ready for her but she was the type of baby that wanted constant contact or she would be awake again in 2 minutes so started bed sharing and got loads more sleep. With my second he was straight in the bed. I may try the next to me again with this one but will probably just end up bed sharing as will be exhausted anyway with 2 other children so will want as much sleep as possible.

@CateGoldilocksWins @Bs93 I'm also due on 21st!

CateGoldilocksWins · 11/01/2021 10:04

@bs93 Amazing, I am still not sure where I will be in June as we are in the process of moving the house so I might have to change the hospitals but it would be funny to bump on each other at A&E! I hope you are feeling well!

It is great to read all the reviews here. I have started shopping yesterday, I bough few little items but nothing necessary, I just want to have few items at home to look at them! I am definitely getting next to me cot as all my friends with babies recommending it. We also have a cat and Gosh, I haven't even though of the fact that she might be jumping to the baby but so true - thank you for opening my eyes! So many things to think of.

TerryRose · 11/01/2021 12:03

Missed the call from my
Doctor with the harmony test results and gender , so annoyed with myself as my partner had to go to work so he will miss the call now
And feel bad as he's missed so much already 🙈 I'm so nervous now waiting for the call 😂😭

DLHJune24 · 11/01/2021 12:52

@lucieloos I also had my 16week midwife appointment today (17 weeks tomorrow). Sounds like a similar experience, heartbeat found quickly and she let me record it. 20 week scan on 2nd feb when is yours?
Due date is 22nd June so just after you and @CateGoldilocksWins and @Bs93. Is anyone else’s due date 22nd?

It seems like everyone is having such different experiences with the services and midwives, being my first I had no idea what to expect but starting think I’ve been quite lucky with the process so far!

@Lovethatjourneyforme thanks for asking this question, it’s definitely something that has confused me as there’s so many options it could end up costing a fortune!

Waitingforbabypage · 11/01/2021 12:53

@TerryRose I'm sure everything will be fine. Though I'm sure many completely understand your nerves.
Sending a hand to hold hun. X

I get to order our travel system bundle on weds and I am EXCITED! And our 20 week scan is next Friday. Can't wait to see little one.
I'm so glad I'm finally feeling excited for baby. Clearly my "whatever" mood was down to feeling poop physically.

lucieloos · 11/01/2021 12:57

@DLHJune24 glad your appt also went well and your got to hear the heartbeat. My 20 week scan is 1st feb so the day before you. Will be glad when that one is done.

@TerryRose good luck with your harmony results. I'm sure all will be ok. It is a nerve wracking process though.

Fightingtobepositive · 11/01/2021 13:30

Hello ladies. Glad to see everyone is doing well and thinking about purchases, I’m just to nervous to start, I don’t know when I’ll build up the courage to do it. Everything makes me nervous at the minute.

Still not as much movement as I’ve been used to for the last week, maybe more, so a little stressed today. Also had annoying cramps all day Saturday and they e started again today? Anybody having anything similar?
I know it could be ligament pin but how are we supposed to tell the difference, how do we know when it’s time to be concerned? Also had some darker mucus (TMI) which has me thinking.

So yep I’m a crazy lady lol. It’s just such an anxious time 💜

Fightingtobepositive · 11/01/2021 13:31

Good luck @TerryRose with the results. It’s horrible waiting for anything isn’t it 💜

lucieloos · 11/01/2021 13:44

@Fightingtobepositive movement doesn't start to get into a pattern until 25-27 weeks so try not to worry about that.

I've had lots of sharp pain all over my bump which I've put down to ligament pain and stretching confirmed by consultant when I saw them so likely to be the same for you but if you're concerned give your hospital / midwife a call and hopefully they can put your mind at rest.

LBee2020 · 11/01/2021 15:46

@DLHJune24 my due date is also 22 June! I have my 20 week scan on 3 Feb which feels so far away! My midwife told me the average baby is born 4/5 days after the due date and, as it's my first, I've got a feeling I'll be waiting around until at least the end of June!

lucieloos · 11/01/2021 16:01

@LBee2020 oh that's interesting! Seems it was right for me as my first was born 5 days after due date. My second was on due date!
