Hi, can I join in with the chat!

Found out today im pregnant done a digital test and came back 3+, going off my last period im due 16 august!

This is my second child, first i was so naive to miscarriage and the dangers that now i feel so hyper aware and cautious! I'm so terrified

haidri · 14/12/2020 00:33
@haidri ah I'm so sorry.
I'm not feeling very positive at all for this one then. Was starting to feel bit more relaxed but I'll hold out for the worse x
Just drink as much water as possible to keep you going & think positive. Beware of what you see on the tissue however small it may be. I'm sending you lots of love xxxx

georgiaerin · 14/12/2020 06:45

I'm going to be honest and say I think the negativity isn't needed. Out of 7 posts I've made you're the only one who's been straight up to say that's how it's going to end and I've literally had 1 hours sleep. I suffer with bad anxiety and depression and now I have to deal with waiting for a misscarriage all over Christmas when really I haven't been told that professionally at all.
I know I asked for opinions but I'm just scared and cannot focus on anything at all.
I'm sorry that's how yours ended.

georgiaerin · 14/12/2020 06:45

@Meggy24 congratulations xxx

SS123456 · 14/12/2020 07:14

Hi ladies, am I ok to join? I got my bfp at 9dpo yesterday 😊

I miscarried in October at 5 weeks so really scared about this pregnancy. We have been trying for 15 months and this will be baby no. 2 (I have an 8 year old)

@SS123456. Congratulations! I hope this one all goes nice and smoothly for you!

Xx

biscuitcat · 14/12/2020 10:10

Congratulations everyone who has found out recently - what an exciting and nerve-wracking time! This is my first pregnancy so I don't have experience yet of things going wrong but I can only imagine how difficult it must be trying to balance excitement and not wanting to get hopes up again. I like @BertieBotts suggestion of playing addictive games to try to take minds off stressing - I've been embroidering Christmas decorations which works well too as I really have to focus to keep everything neat!

Has anyone else been feeling incredibly tired? My work is so busy at the moment and I'm finding it difficult to know if it's just work tiredness or if the pregnancy is having an impact too. It's so difficult to be as productive as I need to be!

Anything can happen and everyone's bodies are different. The medical advice you've gotten is the most important indicator of how things will go. Just stay calm, try to relax and do good things for yourself like take walks, naps, keep positive thoughts and eat healthy. You are doing your best! I will be sending good vibes for a healthy pregnancy your way x
Jenevielivi · 14/12/2020 12:34

Hello lovely ladies I hope you don't mind me joining. I am 11 DPO and got a faint positive this morning.

firsttimemumm31 · 14/12/2020 14:07

Hey everyone, hope you don't mind me joining.... I'm due 2nd August! Very excited 😊 a little stressed because I'm really bloated so I believe I look pregnant and obviously haven't told work yet! That also makes me worried as I've only been in this job since October 1st and am really worried they are going to fire me as I'm still in probation! But hey time will tell!

Congratulations to all the other August due dates!! 💕

Rutland23 · 14/12/2020 14:43

I don't think a company can fire you for being pregnant. When you feel the time is right talk to your employer you may be surprised at how supportive they are. I work for a company that has a great maternity package but when I fell pregnant last time I was just out of it but I spoke to my manager and she said that I would have gotten the full maternity package. Sadly I suffered a miscarriage later on. Congratulations anyway! X

BertieBotts · 14/12/2020 16:53

Welcome to new starters :)

I was totally floored with tiredness when pregnant with DS2. I am doing OK so far with this one (touch wood) maybe because I'm already knackered from him waking up at night!

I went off coffee this morning which is very unlike me! And craving really salty chips all the time.

MeganChar1 · 14/12/2020 23:51

Anyone else needing a wee a lot? I feel like I’m literally going every hour apart from when I’m in bed! Grateful to be pg but it is annoying I feel like there’s “pressure” on my bladder if that makes any sense? Anyone got any tips for managing this or is it just a case of grin and bear it? Ha x

Lililou · 14/12/2020 23:53

Welcome newbies and congratulations on your news.

@georgiaerin I'm sorry you're having a hard time at the moment, these early stages bring about some much worry with all the uncertainty. Sometimes it can help to distract yourself a little when there is nothing you can do but wait. I definitely don't advocate frantic googling as I've scared myself a lot in the past with that. But I did come across this study which didn't find a correlation between irregular sac and miscarriage. The rates between both regular and irregular were basically the same. This is just one study so it's not that I want to get hopes up but hopefully may offer a more balanced view.

@biscuitcat I've been feeling sleep earlier than usual - around 10pm ish. But tonight I was so sleepy around 5:30, I snuggled up with the dog next to the radiator and fell asleep for a god half hour 🤣 I never normally nap either! It was lush but I can't sleep now haha

Lililou · 14/12/2020 23:55

@georgiaerin whoops here's the link pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21193702/

georgiaerin · 15/12/2020 10:21

I've just been told my placenta isn't growing properly and it's why my sac is irregular.
I'm not holding out much hope at all.

BertieBotts · 15/12/2020 10:35

So sorry Georgia, it's a shit time of year to get bad news xx

SweetShop2020 · 15/12/2020 11:11

Excited to join this! Got my BFP at 10dpo (yesterday) and I tested again this morning just to make sure! I’m due 27th Aug

Jessicapebbles · 15/12/2020 11:27

@georgiaerin So sorry to hear that 😔 have they given you some advice on next steps? I still have my fingers crossed for you xxx

georgiaerin · 15/12/2020 11:35

@Jessicapebbles she's told me to wait until 12 weeks. Thickened placenta with cystic black spaces.
I just can't spend the next 5 weeks carrying a baby if it's likely I'm gonna to end up having termination

biscuitcat · 15/12/2020 11:48

Oh Georgia that's rubbish news, I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you got anyone who you can have a vent and a cry to in real life?

georgiaerin · 15/12/2020 11:51

My partner - he's holding out hope.
Just don't understand if she's so certain it isn't viable why I have to wait.

biscuitcat · 15/12/2020 12:43

It's sometimes so hard to hear someone else being positive if it all feels negative isn't it, just not hitting the right buttons. Did the sonographer give you an idea of the likelihood of different outcomes? It sounds like the uncertainty is one of the things making this so difficult, I wonder if they'd be able to give you something more concrete if you called and asked?

KatieLianne93 · 15/12/2020 15:34

Hey all,

@georgiaerin I’m so sorry you’re going through this sweetie 😖😖 would paying for private check ups get you any answers sooner??

Also just wanted to check with everyone.. I’m 5 weeks tomorrow, and just had my first phone call from the midwife, she’s arranged my “booking appointment” which will be over the phone but it’s not until the 12th Jan! When I will be 8+6... and that’s not even seeing someone in person.. just slightly concerned as I thought I would be monitored a lot more as I have under active thyroid and it’s taken us a while to conceive.. maybe I’m just overthinking? What’s everyone else’s opinions?

firsttimemumm31 · 15/12/2020 16:34

@KatieLianne93 Hey, congratulations 🎉 I also had the same thing I've been waiting 4 weeks for my booking appointment which is next Wednesday and just like you that's via telephone.... though afterwards I have to go to the health centre for blood tests
