I’m 41 weeks today, still patiently waiting!! Had an unsuccessful sweep last Thursday. My cervix was still too far back. I’m booked in for an induction on Friday. Started getting BH last night and woke up in the middle of the night with what I thought was a contraction but have had nothing since. FTM and don’t know what to expect!

@PopsicleHustler can you not ring and go in and check to see if you are progressing? They may offer a sweep just to get you into active labour I really feel for you I was exactly the same and was really fed up could have launched my phone out of the window if one more person messaged asking is she here yet 😡 really hope your ok xx

@PopsicleHustler it’s awful having a slow early labour. Especially when there’s only a bit of paracetamol on offer. It’s so exhausting. A tens machine helped me a bit, is that an option for you?

I’m utterly foul @Lollipop93 ! Let’s hope it is a sign the birth is imminent otherwise I’m just being a bitch! Got a few days until my due date and I’m SOOOO BORED of being pregnant. I’m uncomfortable and everything is pissing me off.

@Onekidnoclue I could have written your message myself haha! It’s exactly how I feel. I feel utterly miserable and the rain and the cold and lockdown isn’t helping lol. Sorry for being negative Nancy but just hope I can have this baby soon.

Thanks for directing me to this thread @Onekidnoclue - overdue by 4 days now and sat here bouncing on my hall reading through all the comments! A lot have made me laugh out loud. I’m super fed up and I needed this boost and to hear other people feeling the same! Keep everything coming! This might be the only thing to see me through to D-Day!

Been stalking the thread now for a couple of weeks. I'm 38 weeks today!! Hoping this post will keep me sane as I eagerly approach D-date. Great to see everyone is supporting each other.

I’m on pineapples and dates to try and get something moving but no joy yet.
Unfortunately I’m massively superstitious so am worried about a baby on the 13th! I want to set off a fast labour to get him here tomorrow or he needs to stay out until 14th. I’ve been explaining this to my bump but I’m not sure he’s got the message

Feeling sooo irritated everything is pissing me off and I can not get comfy tried lying down, the ball, the rocking chair, walking about everything is uncomfortable been moaning to my husband that I will be taking the epidural as soon as I go in and try to have a rest 😂

I'm in hospital having contractions and pains but cervix long and thick apparently. I've had some sort of pessary that is in for 24 hours.

It's really shit being alone here. I've brought books and crochet and have Spotify, Netflix and all that but it's just shit.

Oh @footprintsintheslow that sounds rubbish - have they said nobody can come in until you're 4cm or is it different rules there? Maybe between Netflix and mumsnet we can help you pass some time!

I've been trying not to encourage anything too much until I got something out of the way this morning. Now that's done I'm totally happy for baby to make an appearance whenever they fancy. Dates, raspberry leaf tea, shagging* and colostrum harvesting with gay abandon from this point forwards! Sweep on Friday!

*ok there's been a reasonable amount of that already. I'm pretty insatiable when pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️

All we need is a baby on this feed.

Hope you are all coping. I’ve had a bath and feel a bit more chilled but still apprehensive bored and a bit anxious in a sense. I keep on getting tightenings like my bump goes rock hard I wouldn’t say it’s painful more like uncomfy or pins and needles or something. I have no idea if I’m in early labour or not I’m probs betting on not coz the tightenings aren’t sore?. I’ve emptied my bowels literally 6 times today, I started to think have I got an upset stomach? God knows. I hate this unknown. Not got another appointment till next Monday where I’ll be 40+1 :/

Has anyone tried Clara sage aromatherapy oil that seemed to help i early labour to relax me the midwife recommended it when I went in so ordered some for home maybe worth a try? Xxx

Baby girl arrived here at 00:30, weighing 8lb 12oz. Totally zonked out now. Will do a proper update later. Love her date of birth...12.1.21!

I was up half the night. Being kicked by bump. Annoyed by snoring husband and feeling a bit sick. If I was grumpy before I’m going full bitch mode now!

I still havent had my baby but am having spaced out contractions and lost my mucus plug! Midwife just called and suggested sex and nipple stimulation to get the party started. X

I've started colostrum harvesting this morning. Only did it for about 10 minutes but for 0.5ml which (recalling having to do it in hospital after c section) I'm pretty happy with. Going to try again later and see if I can freeze at least 1ml each day til baby comes. Also starting to eat my dates today. May order some RLT too ☺️

They really are! Try soaking in boiling water, then blitz with cinnamon and butter. Spread on toast or goes in porridge with less of the date sliminess!

@PopsicleHustler midwives are a crazy bunch. If nipple stimulation are just to get the party started what’s she going to suggest to crank it up a gear????
Off to syringe my nipples and eat pineapple FML 😳
