Okey dokey. I went with Moon and Stars which is sweet.

Group is set up and is here: www.facebook.com/groups/305485190540651/

I've never done this before so if anyone wants to help out or suggest changes I can make you an Admin. I've put a couple of questions on - if you think they should be different let me know! I feel like such a novice.

Bambam2019 · 20/11/2020 15:23

Hi all. Due 20th Jan, first baby. Nervous, excited and extremely overwhelmed. I feel so unprepared....and I’ve got Covid- has anyone else had it whilst pregnant?

WhoUsedMyName · 20/11/2020 15:50

Hi everyone! Hope you don’t mind me coming into this thread. The other ones for Jan due dates were pretty rammed!
30 wks today with my first. Super nervous and anxious about everything as I’m an ‘older’ mum at 40. Taken us a while to get here. Praying for all to be well over the next 10 weeks.
I’ve got PGP so had virtual physio for it and have ongoing exercises. Not the best as I can’t even get out for walks with the dogs very far let alone any proper exercise Sad

@MnM156 I noticed you said your little one has talipes and there, of course, are no concerns. I just wanted to say I was born with it in both feet. I was lucky to have a great surgeon and that was 40 years ago! I have very small feet (size 2 but I’m only 5’4”) and I can’t wear big high heels but otherwise all is perfectly fine. They still have a curve inwards most notably when I run and I have scars on the backs of my feet (that’s what makes me, me is how I see them!) but that’s all. I can only imagine the surgery available now far outweighs what I had!

WhoUsedMyName · 20/11/2020 16:47

@Onekidnoclue my poor dc eating a bag of crisp for god sake do you need to eat that loud. Dh just breathing and I'm like you sound like your asleep! 😂

Grumpy19 · 20/11/2020 18:06

Glad to hear I'm not the only grumpy one!! Everything/body is annoying me at the moment. I'm actually hoping we're all locked down for Christmas because I can't imagine being cheery with the inlaws! 😂

FirstTimeMama36 · 20/11/2020 18:15

Hi all I'm 33+4 and due 4th Jan I'm not very organised at all and trying to be 🙈 got the bedside cot today and started washing baby's clothes. Thinking about my hospital bags now too and need to go shopping for bits for it but have no motivation to do anything other than stay in or go for a ride in the car 🤣 I blame covid for this 🙄😳 hope everyone is well

footprintsintheslow · 20/11/2020 18:25

@MnM156 it must be so worrying for you. Is there extra supper or parent groups you can access?

@Bambam2019 that must be awful having Covid on top of everything else? Do you know who have it to you...the bastard!

@Louscarlet I'm 40 as well so you aren't alone here.

A big hello to everyone else joining.

Onekidnoclue · 20/11/2020 18:42

Glad I’m not the only grumpy cow and totally understand about lockdown being better than in laws!
DS has a cold and is SNIFFING ALL THE FUCKING TIME. It’s driving me utterly demented

Hi 👋, I'm a lurker on the old posts but I'm due 16th jan with my 3rd. First girl after 2 boys. 32 weeks tomorrow and not sure when to start the dreaded hospital bag (with covid etc do I pack more in case of having to stay in or less cause they'll want us out sooner?) Hope all is going well with all you mummas to be.

I've started packing mine but I feel like I'm over packing and will need to go back a few times. I'm worried about size of clothing for him. I've got newborn, up to 1 month and 0-3 month and don't know whether to pack some of each just in case or just newborn
footprintsintheslow · 20/11/2020 22:28

I've been told I'll be out after ac section within 24 hours, 48 worst case scenario! I'd really like to stay in a week if I had my way.

MnM156 · 20/11/2020 23:42

@Louscarlet
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am so glad to hear about your recovery. I am pretty confident in the treatment of Talipes after speaking to the consultants. It involves casts, a small surgical procedure and wearing boots and bars for a few years to escape a relapse. It is a time taking long process but has a greet success rate. I am mentally prepared for what is to come ahead. I am just not prepared if there is any other medical surprise waiting for us due to his size. Really scared when they said that the small size could be an indication of any genetic or chromosomal disorder given he also has Talipes. They said both things could be related but we can only find out at birth. And that has scared me to bits. Some days I just sit quietly in one corner and pray. I haven't started packing my hospital bag yet and my induction is only 3 weeks away. I am too scared about everything.

Requested to join the Facebook group - I'm 30+2 with baby #3

Louscarlet · 21/11/2020 07:58

@MnM156 you’re so welcome. I can’t help with much as I obviously don’t remember but I’m more than happy to ask my mum if you have any questions. Obviously things will have changed a great deal in 40 years but she may be able to offer some support. I’ve seen recent procedures on TV programmes and watched with interest at what they can now do. I know I had casts as she kept them bless her and I’ve seen photos of me with my dad and I have them on. I was a big baby 9lb 14 and my mum is only 5ft tall! I had physio for a long time, probably until I was around 9 or 10 as I remember that quite clearly, but again with the ops being better now, that may not be needed. And since it can vary in severity that would alter the ongoing treatment of course. It’s more common in boys and one foot so I was of great interest, apparently, being a girl and having it in both feet! Back in my childhood days I was a fast runner even if my gait is slightly unusual and I always made the sports teams Smile
I’ve been anxious all through my pregnancy for various reasons and haven’t purchased anything other than a changing bag and that’s at my parents. I’ve made a list for my hospital bag but haven’t done anything for it. People think I’m mad (even my hubby to some extent!) but I’m so convinced something will go wrong. I know I need to do the bag at some point and I will make a start soon, but when I’m ready. Lockdown has almost been a blessing as I can use that as my excuse!
I’m sure your little man will be just perfect. Keep positive. Thinking of you x

Grumpy19 · 21/11/2020 09:26

@footprintsintheslow that photo really is perfect for my mood! 😂

I have packed my baby's hospital bag but not my own. My midwife said they will discharge in 6 hours unless there is a problem so I'm packing reasonably light as DH can drop stuff off if we do have to stop longer. I remember with my last one terrible moment where I was asked to re pack my bag (to move from delivery to antenatal ward) and I cried because all my stuff wouldn't go back in! (Dh had been sent home at that point)
I had to drag this half open bag down the hall way with the mw carrying my baby walking 2m ahead!!

WhoUsedMyName · 21/11/2020 10:24

Poodlemum1 · 21/11/2020 11:19

Hi
I’m due the 02nd of January but I have also have a planned cesarean booked for the 17 December !
I have type 2 diabetes and baby is measuring. 6lb10 at 33 weeks .

I’m suffering a lot from pelvic pain and heavy feeling in pelvis . I’m 34 weeks today and my bump seems to have dropped dramatically today 😬

I’m all ready for baby and this is my third section but the last two were emergency ones.

I’m panicking about getting all Christmas sorted and arranging food shopping deliveries as I never use them lol

I’m very nervous about this planned cesarean my uterus ruptured in my last Labour so I’m trying not to think about it .

I hope your all doing well xx

LiG123 · 21/11/2020 11:37

@Poodlemum1 out if interest did you plan for a vbac on your second baby?

I'm hoping for a vbac so interested in your birthing story if ok!? Esp as a uterine rupture is supposed to be uncommon and I keep seeing it.. thank you!

Poodlemum1 · 21/11/2020 11:50

@LiG123 Hi , yes I planned for a VBAC on my second Labour .
My first my waters broke on there own I dilated to 8cm and then discovered baby was breech . So emergency section it was .

Due to that my midwife said a VBAC would have a very high success rate as I did everything on my own.
I had gestational diabetes the second pregnancy so because of this I was induced at 39 weeks.
To be honest the midwife had me on two machines on for blood sugar and the other I don’t know what for. After 4 hours I was asking for an epidural my husband asked what was different as the first time I just had gas and air ?
The midwife said it will because of the induced, they then tried to break my water and couldn’t as I wasn’t even two cm dilated .
It was then the shift changed over (9pm) and the new midwife came in looked and checked me over , she took the other midwife outside and was shouting at her because she had done something wrong she was mentioning the machines.
Then within two mins she came in and said right we’re going to surgery now .

It wasn’t until after I was told my uterus has ruptured only a small amount thank god , but I was in surgery for quite a long time as my previous scar had a lot of adhesive tissue so was hard to cut and stitch up.

I was extremely worried about having another section this pregnancy was not planned at all . My youngest is 9 now so a big gap.
I have been assured a planned section is much better and the senior surgeon is going to do this op . Xxx

This is just what happened to me your could go fine as a lot of my friends have had a VBAC with no issues whatsoever. Personally I would have gone for another section looking back but only because of the circumstances x

Hi everyone hope you don't mind me joining. I'm due early January. I've heard that lots of people are taking Raspberry tea. I thought about it but really don't want a Christmas baby (I know I won't have any say in this) so am trying to avoid anything that might start this.

PollyOaks · 21/11/2020 13:07

@WhoUsedMyName I am suffering terrible with spd 😣 and no one I know has ever had it so they think I'm being extra moany but they don't understand how difficult it is to do anything! Have you found anything to help you?

@footprintsintheslow I'm in Hereford but originally from Wales, which part are you?
